Overview

The wait times for the Vatican Museums are testament to its status as one of the world’s most well-known monuments. Beat the crowds and enter the Vatican an hour before it officially opens to the public on this early access tour, guaranteed to save you at least three hours of waiting. Explore the Sistine Chapel and Raphael's Rooms in a relatively crowd-free environment, and hear your guide's commentary clearly through a headset. Entry to St. Peter’s Basilica is also included.

What to Expect

Your Vatican tour begins in the early morning. Greet your guide at a designated meeting point, and enter the Vatican through an entrance reserved specially for priority access groups.

Feel like you have the place to yourself as you visit highlights such as Raphael's Rooms, the Gallery of Maps, and the Sistine Chapel, adorned with Michelangelo's world-famous frescoes.

Listen to the history of the Vatican and its numerous Popes before heading into St. Peter’s Basilica for a small-group tour. After bidding your guide farewell, you can continue exploring the church independently if you wish.

Best tour!

Raf was the best. Her presentation was so informative and passionate and fun. Just the right size group—not too big. I will definitely recommend The Roman Guy tours.

Worth it to skip the line

We took the 7:30 am tour and it was worth it to get into the Sistine Chapel with few people and crammed like sardines like we saw on our way back through it. You also have less people as you go through all the other...More

Excellent tour and well worth the price

We broke out into small groups of 12 and our guide, Sabrina, was excellent. Smart, knowledgeable and very pleasant. She brought us directly to the Sistine Chapel and we were able to sit on the side benches and soak it all in for over 20...More

The only way to do it

There is way too much to see at the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's, way too many people trying to see it with you, and not enough time to do it. That said, our vivacious and unflappable guide Raf was an excellent tour leader, managing...More

Early entry is the best - especially with a great guide.

Our guide was Lucia - very smart, very competent, full of historical knowledge that she blended with the noted "stories" that follow religions. My daughter and I loved being a part of her tour - were we to do it again, we'd figure out how...More

The tour itself was approx 3.5 hours (8:00-11:30 am) but they told us we had to arrive at 7:00 am at the meeting point. We met at 7 and checked-in then we went for cappuccinos at a nearby cafe until about 7:20, then our tour... More

Also, on the before hours tour, our guide showed pictures and gave some history and things to watch for while we waited to get in since there is no talking in the chapel. He rushed through part of the museum to get to the... More
