About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- HuntleyNewYork0 contributionsLovely lunch, delicious wine tastingWe had a wonderful lunch with some delicious wine tasting. Our favorite was the Edone, and we ordered a case of 6 to be sent to us. We’ll be having it tonight with pasta and my home made sauce, a spin on my mother’s, which was based on a Napoli style sauce that my Italian born grandmother made for our large family.Written 12 January 2025
- 909tijanab0 contributionsGood wines, food, amazing scenery, but subjectively - a little bit rushedBeautiful scenery, perfect for a wedding or any kind of celebration. Great wines with some unique "touch", delicious food. My only remark would be that it should last a bit longer than 1h and 30, because everyone seems to be a bit in a hurry, tour operator was talking a bit too fast as well as our sommelier (who was still very knowledgeable!).Written 4 January 2025
- SimeyTravels0 contributionsGroup tour post PompeiiThis was the last stop for our Pompeii tour group, and something we didn't remember was included, honestly. We pulled up after a long day of speed-walking through the ruins of Pompeii, hot, sweaty and a bit dusty, to be seated at these really pretty yet somehow cramped tables. The setup was nice and the staff was friendly. They made it a point of making an announcement ahead of every bottle they poured, but we were spread out and the waters' voices didn't really carry. We were greeted with a bubbly and individual charcuterie boards, with more meats than cheeses. The main was a small serving of big tubed pasta (like rigatoni, but bigger...a *bigatoni*, if you will...ha, see what I did there? BIGatoni. Hey, where are you going) in a red sauce. The pasta was super al dente, even by Italy's standards. The sauce was zesty and a little loose. Dessert was a kind of trifle, with fresh fruit and sweet cream in a jar. Each course was paired with a wine, naturally. The wines were good and flavorful, and everyone at the table enjoyed the pairings. We were given a bit of time once the meal was finished to walk the grounds, and I can see how this property would be popular for parties, galas and weddings.Written 3 December 2024

- baileyhP231FO0 contributionsGreat experience!Nello was amazing. The entire staff was very patient and gracious when we ran into some transportation issues and had to walk 40 minutes to get there, subsequently making us quite late. It was very fun, relaxing, and delicious. I would absolutely recommendWritten 15 October 2024

- _maia_rubashvili0 contributionsWine tasting at the bottom of VesuviusI'm a tour leader, so sometimes I accompany some groups from the cruise ships for wine tasting at Bosco dei Medici. I'd like to highlight how well organized everything is and above all that the guests are taken great care of. Last time we went there we were met by Nello, who is very passionate about taking the guests through the vineyards and sharing a lot of information with them. He's very knowledgable and his English is fluent, that makes the experience even better. Absolutely recommended! MaiaWritten 13 October 2024
- dilinger0 contributionsExcellent for Wine, food and history loversHad prebrooked this well before traveling. We were met by initial host Jasmine who took us on a tour by cart of the modern vineyard and gave us a great account of both the history and current operation of the vineyard including seeing its impressive past. At the tasting we had a welcome drink of Brute followed by a 4 course lunch with 4 delicious wines presented by our educated sommelier Sabine (may have got name wrong, sorry if so!) . Great food courses and fun to pair.Written 12 October 2024
- Chonchon-Hyderabad0 contributionsGreat evening with great wineWe have dinner tonight at Bosco de Medici, and had a lovely time, food and wine! Matteo, very friendly and agreeable, sommelier, make sure we had good wine with our food and we appreciated it, and thanks to him and the whole team, we had a great evening, it was our last evening in Italy after 3 weeks trip. Thanks Matteo and all the best!Written 10 October 2024
- Tour059309537940 contributionsOne of our best holidays everA really wonderful resort and the absolute best way to see Pompei. About 20 mins walk from the centre of Pompei and about 30 mins to the ruins. Rooms were lovely, big spacious beds and lots of room. Bathrooms were great. Staff here were 10/10. Friendly and very helpful. We ended up becoming quite friendly with them after a week because they were so nice. The food is the restaurant is AMAZING. We had dinner here every night because the food and wine is so good. It’s only a minutes walk from the rooms too. The pool is fab and because the resort is quite small you can have it to yourself! A real amazing stay, highly recommendWritten 8 October 2024
- Pressthestarkey660 contributionsStunning and relaxingBooked for 4 nights while we visited Pompeii and Herculaneum and Vesuvius. Normally my husband does the choosing but as a surprise birthday trip I braved the internet and found this delightful place on the edge of the modern town. So glad - it’s worked out perfectly. Although we didn’t do any riding (hung up my helmet years ago after many years with horses) we had a fabulous wine and dine in the cellars and were brilliantly looked after by Eugenio, Emanuele and Franky. The reception staff are charming and helpful. We ate in town the other nights and although a 10 minute walk it was probably sensible after feasting. The place is ideal- bright well-designed large rooms with our own garden, good bathrooms and excellent housekeeping. It’s quiet too apart from a cockerel ( not early am TG!) and the pool is one of the nicest hotel pools i know- not heated but no problem! Negronis on tap. Gorgeous citrus grove garden. We thoroughly recommend here.Written 7 October 2024
- N1051LTcarlg0 contributionsA fun and worthwhile experienceWhat a great experience. It started with our guide Nello giving us a tour and history of the vineyard. Then we moved on to wine tasting and a fabulous meal. Emanuele was suburb as our waiter and made us truly feel like family. He joked and laughed with us making a unique and personal experience. Based of the experience we had it was worth every penny. Really made for a special and memorable day. Than you.Written 30 September 2024

- V645JNhannahc0 contributionsGreat experienceHi, I visited Pompeii this month and found this wonderful place which you definitely can’t miss! It’s the perfect place to dive yourself in the neapolitan (and italian, also) food&wine culture! The wine taste was great, with a huge and delicious selection and the food also (I’m dreaming about their “paccheri” veeeery often!🤤). We had wonderful time in the elegant, beautiful and quiet location which you have to visit soon if you are going to visit Pompei! The waiters were amazing too and especially the loved Dario who, with his kindness, hospitality and professionalism has improved our experience!Written 23 September 2024

David and Daniella took us around the property on a golf-cart and described the land and different varietals of grapes. David was very informative and excited to share the property and an unexpected important finding near the backside of the Vineyards. Just feet away from the winery there was an archaeological site where just weeks prior they discovered a tomb structure with one of the most well preserved human remains to date! We felt very privileged to have had the experience. David took us back into the winery and showed us the terra-cotta vessels that the winery uses in part of the aging process, where we sampled a lovely sparkling wine before we went to dine. We sat under a beautiful grape covered awning for lunch. We chose the temple of Jupiter tasting menu. Sadly, I cannot remember our waiter’s name, but he was fabulous. The food was yummy too! Our wine sommelier, Antonio Amore (Tony Love) was fantastic! He quickly discovered the wines of our taste and poured generously suggesting wines we really enjoyed. We purchased a case to be sent home as well. We highly recommend this experience!

Our tour guide Ida Where is extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with the city of Pompeii and the eruption that took place on October 24, 0079 AD. She pointed things out helped us explore the ruins in a way that we got a good understanding of what took place on that fatal day. She was pleasant, answered all of our questions, and would pause and take a break when we needed it. She was an excellent tour guide
When we got to the Bosco de Medici winery, Clemente took excellent care of us on the golf Cart tour of the grounds. He gave us lots of great information about the vineyards and the history behind them. We even tried some of the grapes right on the vine. He took excellent care of us and brought us into the winery and served us our first sparkling wine
Anthony then took over with the wine tasting and the pairings that we needed for lunch. The whole experience was 100% amazing and I highly recommend it to others

Absolutely fantastic. We could not have done Pompeii without the help of Margherita. She sorted out transport around Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius on such short notice. She was so welcoming, friendly and professional. The whole day was a real highlight of the trip. Pompeii was fantastic and our guide Lello was the best guide we could hope for - funny, informative and so
friendly. The winery was beautiful and the food was lovely. Would thoroughly recommend! Thank you from Timur and Liza!

We loved the private tour of Pompeii. Our Pompeii tour guide Ileana was a wealth of knowledge. As a 20 year guide she provided tons of interesting information. She was passionate about being a tour guide and a historian. Our driver Umbesto was excellent. Professionally dressed, knowledgeable on the 'new Pompeii" Our tasting menu at the Bosco de' Medici was outstanding. The tomatoes grown on site in the volcanic soil were just amazing. We especially enjoyed Master Sommelier "Sir King" Anthony. We ended up buying excellent wine to ship home. One of the best meals we ate during a week of Roma and Napoli restaurants. 10/10 would do this again.

Individualized attention ! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He answered all questions and made the tour of Pompeii interesting. The winery exceeded our expectations. We had our tastings at a private table with our own waiter describing in detail each wine. Lunch was plentiful and delicious. Highly recommend this tour for a taste of Mt. Vesuvius wines

Highly recommend this tour, the tour guide was a high school teacher that is highly informed of all the sites and loves what he does! The wine tasting was very fun and the lunch was good.
The starting point address was not correct and need to confirm the morning of the tour, FYI.

Best wine tour experience but the service was even more Epic! Shout out to Emmanuel ( best waiter ) and Matteo ( greatest dossier). I can’t remember her name but the sweetest dark haired family member who gave us a golf cart tour was amazing as well. We toured the Pompeii ruins and had wine tasting/ lunch in less than 5 hours. So even the if you are passing through Pompeii as we were you should absolutely stop at this winery. The staff’ s contagious Optimism made it so fun for our family of 4 with two young adults . May I add ..it was raining and we still had a memorable time !! 👍👍👍

Fabulous private tour of Pompeii. Our guide Chiara was so knowledgeable. She told us things we would have never known had we gone on a group tour. She was warm and interesting...really made our tour special!
We then went to the winery which was wonderful! People there were so nice, gave us a tour of the winery, tasted 4 different kinds of wine which were delicious and did not rush us to leave. They also didn't pressure us about purchasing wine. A really beautiful place in the middle of a residential area. If you didn't know it was there you would've never guessed!
Be aware that you are responsible for getting yourself to the Pompeii Ruins and to the Winery from the Ruins. We were able to walk from the Ruins (about a 30-45 minute walk) and did have some trouble finding it but if you are used to walking, and the weather is nice, I would recommend that as an option. Also, you will need to buy tickets into the ruins (this is not included in the price.)
Would definitely recommend this tour. Well worth the price.

This tour was amazing, just lovely. Antonio is a superb driver. He picked me up at my hotel in Amalfi and drove me to Napoli (Pompeii) to meet my private tour guide, Ivan. Ivan has degrees in history and architecture and you can tell he loves his job. He is very patient with explanations, speaks great English, answers questions well and allows plenty of time for photos. Nadia, the guide at Bosco De’ Medici, a winery and horses stables near Pompeii, gave a lovely tour of the grounds and facility. “Sir King Anthony” is the head sommelier and is just lovely. He travels the world to taste and sell wine and, therefore, very knowledgeable…he has a twinkle in his eye and very good natured. Everyone has been very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this tour. It is the best cross-section of the southern Italy (Campania region), a “highlight reel”, if you will, in one day. Cheers!

How do I book a tour that includes wine stomping? And would that be available November 2nd?

Written 6 September 2019
We did not have wine stomping available as a choice for us. We visited in June. This was however our absolute favorite tour our entire holiday. The private tour of Pompeii was amazing. Then our phenomenal tour guide had a car waiting for us to drive us to the nearby winery where we enjoyed a beautiful meal with wine pairings before going on a private tour of the grounds.

We are interested in the private tour of Pompei followed by the wine tour. For two people. Is this possible on Sat June 1 or Sun June 2? If so, what time would we meet our guide in Pompei?
Written 30 May 2019
It says hotel or train pick up in the description but then it says this transportation is not included. We would be travelling from Rome by train to Pompeii in the morning on Wed 7/17. Our plan is to visit the Pompeii site and then after lunch return to Naples where our hotel is. If we arrive in Pompeii at the train station can someone pick us up? There will be 5 adults and we will each have a small carry on. Would like to know our options.
Thank you
Samantha
