Overview
Naples can throw the most careful plans out of whack with anarchic traffic, heat, and crowds. With this tour, take a break from the drama by going underground some 130 feet (40 meters) below the city’s historic center. Tour subterranean air-raid shelters, Greek-Roman aqueducts, caves, a garden, and a Roman theater—all part of Naples’ unconventional history.

Excellent multilingual enthusiastic guide. The rest was boring and poorly managed.

One stands in unmarked lines, everyone breaking queue to ask questions up front, then reforming undesignated lines. From time to time the personnel would call for "spanish speakers...french speakers..." and the lines would reconstruct without said speakers. The noon English tour was 15 min. late...More

Unenthusiastic guide

We were a group of four. Our guide seemed bored throughout. He was happy when the tour ended. We had booked an English speaking tour but our guide was very difficult to understand. The site itself is very interesting.

A real surprise - the other kind of tour

Naples underground is something else - getting down 40 meters below ground, stepping through narrow corridos, seeing Greek and Roman remains - really astonishing. The other part of the tour was a visit to the part of the old Roman theatre discovered in a small...More

Yes and yes. They do provide a tour guide with English. We also walked from the cruise terminal - it is not a difficult walk - may take 15 or 20 min - but try to have good directions as the streets can be confusing - it is... More

There is a fair amount of stairs and then a lot of walking in the tunnels - would not recommend.

There are quite a few steps to get down to it - maybe 3 or 4 flights.
