This is simply brilliant. A fantastic way to see a great historic city. Highly recommended. The city is very up and down and this is a brilliant way to see it. We had a great time and felt that the tour was well done. We'd definitely do it again.

Fantastic way to see the Sassi. Vito gave us a wonderful tour of Matera in his Tuk Tuk. His family is from Matera and he told us stories about his grandparents who used to live there. His local knowledge was exceptional. We stopped off at many locations and Vito waited for us to go inside churches and exhibitions. He was patient, answered questions we had and took photos of us. The sassi is very hilly and can be difficult to navigate but going on this tour early on in our visit certainly help us get more familiar with the geography for the rest of our trip. This is the best way to see Matera. Grazie Vito!

Vito was fantastic. Beginning with the easy pick up for the tour everything was great. I really appreciated the authentic conversation and information about Matera. I do not particularly like tours and he made this feel easy, laid back, conversational, etc., while sharing a lot of historical context we never would have discovered on our own. Additionally, he brought us to places we would not have found had we been exploring solo. Excellent tour.

Visiting Puglia for two weeks, we were looking to definitely visit Matera. I came across Vito's company that offers tours by Apecar, which is an Italian vehicle that is similar to a tuktuk. I contacted Vito and he offered us a combined cost to have us transferred to and from Matera and give us the longer tour of Matera. This was the perfect option for us. 45 mins to/from Bari to Matera in a comfortable van (Vito's brother picked us up at our Air BnB) and Vito met us as we arrived and gave us a wonderful, informative tour all around the city. It was nice to see without all of the walking and stairs. Matera is incredible, photos do not do it justice. You really have to see it person, it is like taking a step back in time. We had two hours to have a nice lunch and walk around a bit before heading back. Thanks so much to Vito for making our visit to Matera from Bari so easy, we really enjoyed the day and highly recommend contacting Vito if you are looking for a tour while in Matera or from Bari!

We are a group of nine Americans who travel together for 1-3 weeks every two years. This year we spent 10 days in the Southern part of Italy and today we used ApeVito Tuk-Tuk tours to visit the fascinating town of Matera, a World Heritage Site primarily due to their ancient history of the inhabitants living in caves carved out of a limestone mountain. When traveling with a group of this size we often anticipate difficulties with organized tours, but our day was trouble free. We asked for information in advance for parking our two rental cars close to the meeting point which worked out great. Vito was our main point person in making the arrangements - which took a bit of time as he needed three Tuk-Tuks to accommodate nine adults and we all followed each other and made stops in the same spots so the narration didn’t need to be repeated. Meanwhile Antonio and Donato kept the information coming in each of our vehicles between stops. All three of the guides are natives of Matera and were able to tell us stories from personal experiences growing up in the city. We’re sorry we didn’t take photos of our three Tuk-Turks zipping around town, but lots of others walking the streets thought it was pretty cool and snapped shots of us! I can’t imagine a better method of getting a full overview of the town and its history. Highly recommended.

Had a 75 min tour around ‘Matera historic centre and Sassi with Vito in an Ape, best way to see the highlights of Matera, Vito is extremely knowledgeable of the history of Matera and gave us a wonderful tour. Would highly recommend

He was a very interesting young man, sharing his passion for travel with us. We really enjoyed our tour, it was a fun way to see the key points of Matera without navigating the rough terrain on foot! Yes the views were amazing. We could of had more history, discussion of architecture, culture Driver was willing to stop..had patience.

We had a great 75 minute tour of Matera with Vito. He was helpful during booking and coordinated multiple ape for our large group. Due to the heat, challenging topography, and multiple age groups, it was the best way to see and get around the town. Vito was incredibly knowledgeable and also gave us a great lunch recommendation. We highly recommend Vito's tour.
