Did this combined trip, liked Guadalest, going to the top of the castle gave wonderful views, the waterfalls were too congested for us, and once looked at not much around to do while waiting to get back on the bus.
You will be collected by coach at your chosen start point. Once everyone is onboard, accompanied by the tour escort, the coach will head inland and begin the ride up the mountains, during which you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
This tour aims to arrive in the village of Guadalest around 11am. You will have plenty of free time to enjoy the village's famous museums, gift shops and stalls selling locally produced goods such as honey, sweets, cured meats, olive oils etc. The village dates back over a 1000 years and is steeped in history, from the prison and dungeon built in the 12th century to the old washing house used by the local woman and has just over 200 inhabitants. The coach representative will be able to offer you a discount museum entrance pack on the day, if required.
On leaving Guadalest you will then start the descent down to the village of Callosa before reaching the village of Algar. There is no shortage of restaurants here, all selling excellent typical Spanish meals and snacks, and each has its own swimming pool which you can use free of charge.
Although the Algar Waterfalls have been very popular with the Spaniards and local residents for many years, it was the inclusion in one of the episodes of ITVs hit series “Benidorm” that made it famous with the British and those coming on holiday to Benidorm wanting to visit this little village. There is something for everyone at this beautiful paradise, the Waterfalls are such a peaceful place, where you can just sit and relax and enjoy a picnic while dipping your toes in the icy cold water in one of the many pools. For the more adventurous there are areas designated for diving into the icy cold waters if you dare!
So if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Benidorm for the day and relax in this secluded paradise or you just want to see where Madge fell into the icy waters from her scooter, join this memorable day out.
The representative will confirm the meeting point and time for returning to Benidorm and Albir. The arrival at the hotels should be around 4:30pm.
The village has wonderful views down towards the coast. The waterfalls whilst not huge are well worth seeing and have rock pools for paddling or swimming. The tour company was well organised, with collection on time. Money well spent
