Itinerary

After meeting your guide, your tour of the magical Old Town of Dresden begins. You’ll see a lot in a short space of time while learning about the impact WWII had, and how the city worked hard to reconstruct its historical monuments. There will be plenty of regal sites to see, including; The Royal Cathedral, The Royal Palace, and The Royal Mews, which contains a mural depicting a parade of rulers known as the ‘Procession of Princes’.

You’ll see The Church of Our Lady and also the lively Theater Square, which is full of monuments and museums. Another highlight is The Zwinger—a beautiful baroque-style palace. This is a fantastic, action-packed tour, which gives a glimpse into Dresden’s fascinating past, and how the city rebuilt itself.

It is well worth doing this tour if you are short on time. We wouldn't have known what we were looking at and whether it was "original" or a rebuild. The guide had a lot of photos showing before and after for some of the...More

We had this tour in July 2018 and really enjoyed it. The tour briefly covered the major sites in the historical old town, but the guide Karen (an American lived in Germany for many years) introduced these landmarks with captivating historical background, intriguing people stories...More

It's a 20-minute walk from the train station to the tour's start in Schlossplatz Square, according to Google Maps. If you're quick walkers, it's doable.
