Your day begins by meeting your guide at a central location, and walking into Nuremberg’s Old Town. Along the way, you’ll see historic timber-framed houses, cobbled streets, and the scenic River Pegnitz. Your guide will enrich your experience by giving historical and cultural context to the things you see around you.
Next stop is Nuremberg Castle (Kaiserburg), where you’ll see the excellently preserved medieval architecture, and hear about the history of the Castle. After this, you’ll learn about the home of famous artist Albrecht Dürer, and also hear about Nuremberg’s association with the Third Reich.
Take a moment to admire the impressive spire of St Lawrence Church, before heading to Schöner Brunnen (a replica of a historic water feature).
The tour ends at Hauptmarkt—Nuremberg’s main market square (and the setting of the Christmas market), so you can continue to explore this area alone.
This is the ideal way to learn about Nuremberg’s history, and see its Old Town highlights. Having a guide means you will learn local secrets, historical information, and go to places that can only be accessed on foot. You’ll save time navigating and make the most of your trip—seeing Nuremberg Castle, St. Lawrence Church, Schöner Brunnen, and many other city attractions.
