A Great trip to Casis and Aix
The trip was amazing, our guide was awesome and very informative. We especially enjoyed Casis, such a beautiful little town on the ocean. Aix was a lot different than what I expected, but definitely enjoyed walking through the old part of the city.

It was not worth of money that We paid.
The guide was rude. He made fun of anything was not in french customs. Not to mention, he was just the driver not much of guide.

      Don’t miss this experience!
This was sooo much fun! Pepe, our guide, was extremely knowledgable about his beloved adopted area and country! This VERY personable guide was just fantastic! It was very obvious how much he loves Marseilles and the surrounding area. Though Spanish is his native tongue, his English is perfect. He speaks many languages ! The Mercedes van was very comfortable and he was a wonderful guide! We saw places that we know we want to return to and visit again! The trip through the mountain and the coastal village of Cassis is a must! We had a lovely seafood lunch gazing at a perfect seaside post card view of the harbor. Pepe really went out of his way to be accommodating and he REALLY knows his history!

Great guide. Didn't love the towns.
Bernardo was a terrific guide. His English is terrific and we assume his French and Portuguese are too, but him not being French by birth brought an interesting perspective. He can see the French and French culture and history a bit from the outside, maybe more objective. We got some lovely views from the coast, but didn't really care for either town. They're nice but not for us. Aix-en-Provence is just a big outdoor, upscale shopping mall (like Cannes or Monte Carlo). Cassis is charming but Menton and Villefranche-sur-Mer were much more charming and interesting to us. (Don't go expecting Cassis to be the source of the Cassis liqueur. Apparently the two have nothing to do with each other. We were sorely disappointed. We just assumed.... We love Cassis, the liqueur. The town, not as much.)

A very FUN Day in Provence
I had a very nice day-long introduction to Provence on this tour. We had a good size group of 6 people with Sebastian as our guide. The order in which we saw the different sights was a little different than in listed in the tour description, but as long as the Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine tasting is last (if you swallow), the order really makes no difference. The tour was well-organized, from pickup in Marseilles, to driving to all the different sites in a comfortable, air-conditioned van, to having an adequate amount of time in each location to look around (understanding that this is an introduction to Provence). Sebastian did an exceptional job as our guide: very courteous, knowledgeable, engaging, and funny! He took good care of our group from beginning to end, and because of this experience, I would definitely consider other tours offered by this particular company if/when I am back in the area. Importantly, I was also able to sign up for this tour as a solo traveler, something which is not available with some other tours offered on Viator.

      Great side trip
Friendly tour guide. Very informative. My only complaint was that transport was a bit tight with right people in a van. We had plenty of tine to explore both places

      Small group, big reward
This was a good way to see little snippets of Marseille. Cassis is a small coastal town about 30 minutes away, but a very nice and relaxing stop. Our guide, Petra, was a very good driver and made the trip enjoyable. We enjoyed the small group of 8 instead of a big bus. We did not do the optional 1 hour boat cruise but those who did got very wet so beware.

      A Wonderful Afternoon Out
Our driver/guide Sebastien told us interesting facts about the region and I enjoyed the small group (the maximum is eight people). We were given a map to explore Aix-en-Provence on our own. In Cassis, the view from Cape Canaille was stunning! As an added bonus, I went out for dinner after the tour with my new friends to try Provençal dishes Bouillabaisse and Aïoli. A wonderful afternoon (and evening) out!

Wonderful day trip for wine tasting
Our tour guide, Florence, was wonderful and so knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the two family wineries, the natural views of Cassis, and the small town of Le Castellet. The small group was ideal, and very personal! Would definitely book with Florence and the company again.

      Best Tour from Marseille
The best tour of our stay in Marseille. We had a great guide and a great tour. He showed us some amazing photo stops and shared a lot of interesting information about wine and the region. Moreover, it was a pleasure to be in a small group! I recommend this tour !

      Well worth the money
The tour was offered by Provence Tours. We took another tour that was also offered by Provence Tours and really enjoyed both tours. Our driver/tour guide was Laurent. Laurent was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny, excellent driver and also was available to take those priceless photos. The van was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. In both instances in which we took tours with Provence Tours, we found the vans to be first class, clean, comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The highlight of the tour for us was number one wine tasting in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape region and a visit to Les Baux. We have previously the roman aqueducts in other countries so the Pont du Gard was what we expected and we were actually a bit underwhelmed by Avignon, perhaps from the poor lunch experience we had there. Anyhow the red wines at the winery we visited were amazing. Based on visiting several wineries in Europe and drinking a lot of rose during this vacation, we have a new found appreciation of European wines and seek them out when we go to our local wine stores in the U.S. Les Baux was an amazingly cool little town from a distance. Unfortunately, but perhaps not unexpected, upon walking through the town, it is clear that shops predominately occupy the cool little stone houses/structures so it lost a bit of its charm, at least for us. The second stop was Pont du Gard. We had ample time to walk on the old roman bridge/under the aqueduct, something we probably couldn't do in the U.S. The bridge goes over a small river and in the distance a castle is visible. Definitely a good experience. Avignon was a pretty cool experience and we had 3 hours to explore. Unfortunately for us, we really picked a lemon for a restaurant (Le Venaissin). It is partially our fault as we didn't properly vet the restaurant via proper searches and relied/let our guard down after seeing all the people eating at the restaurant. Our order was very basic but it literally took 45-50 minutes for the food to arrive. As time was a bit of the essence, losing 50 minutes waiting for our food to be served was a costly mistake. Additionally, when the food arrived it was just o.k. Definitely the worst meal we had during our vacation in Provence. Anyhow, after finishing our lunch, which took about 5 minutes, we headed out and tried to explore the town as fast as we could. We liked the town, at least what we could see within about 2 hours but didn't love the town. We also came away with the impression that we were fortunate to have chosen Aix-en-Provence for our place to stay as we had strongly considered staying at Avignon as well.

      Awesome day trip
A great tour with so many nice and beautiful stops. We started with a stop at a farm for lavender, olive oil and almonds and went on to beautiful lavender fields with a good amount of time for pictures. On top the visits of Moustiers and LaCroix have been great. A stop at Verdon canyon was stunning and a perfect surprise for me. Our tour guide Ines was fantastic - caring, knowledgeable and a very good driver. I was very happy to have her as our tour guide. The day was over much too fast! Thanks for an awesome experience! 😊

      Overpriced Taxi Ride
This is probably the only 1 star review I’ve ever done. The Marseille walking tour was an abject disappointment. We followed our guide for 3 hours on a walk around Marseille and learned nothing more than reading the dust cover of a guide book. The guide was barely engaged and seemed to be following a small script. We even attempted further conversation with guide only to get one word answers and a quick move along. We considered walking away in the first 45 minutes it was so bad. We were driven up to the Notre Dame cathedral dropped off and told to be back in 30 minutes. The only reason we stayed with it was to see Cassis and Aix en Provence. We were driven 9 people in a minivan to Cassis and dropped off and told to be back in 90 minutes. Same minivan to Aix dropped at the fountain and told to be back in 90 minutes. There may have been five minutes of guide comments on each leg of the trip. Otherwise-silence. Not even radio. Now the times in Cassis and Aix were fantastic and prob worth at least a half day to two at each place. The people and restaurants at each place were amazing. But if you’re trying to do both in one day, you’re better off taking a Bolt or taxi. You can stay as long as you want and it’s way cheaper if you have 2 or more .

Hit two towns in one trip
A great way if you are staying in Marseille to see both Aix en Provence and Cassis to tick off the list. The mini bus holds 8 people and is really comfortable. Journey time to Cassis around 40 mins with 2 hours to explore then onto the gorgeous viewpoint and then 40 mins to Aix and 1.5 hours to explore with optional tour and then another 40 mins home. For us it worked well to be able to see a couple of towns and do the boat trip to see the calanques from Cassis which is a must do. Pepe was super friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour fun. Only improvement would be to have an extra 30 mins in cassis as we didn’t have enough time to do the boat trip to the calanques and have a nice fish lunch otherwise really great

A great day around Provence with Alex!
The tour started off with a hitch. We were told we had to meet in Marseilles so we got up at 6am to take a taxi from Aix-en-Provence only to find out that we would be heading back to Aix-en-Provence to pickup another couple. This was very surprising because we looked for a tour starting in Aix-en-Provence and couldn't find anything. Once we got past the rush hour traffic, we had a phenomenal time with Alex. He gave us a lot of history as he drove and had a good microphone so we could hear him well. He spoke English well thanks to his time in Ohio and Canada. He told some jokes and tried to make the stories relatable. Les Baux was small but pretty. Cute shops and restaurants with nice views of the hillside. We had about 45 minutes which was enough time to walk the town and take pictures. We drove to Arles and Alex had a tough time finding parking with our small van but he found a way to fit somewhere. We saw the coliseum, grabbed lunch at a local spot, saw a church and cloister, and were given lots of information as Alex walked us around. There were plenty of Van Gogh stories for those interested including passing by the famous cafe he painted After a quick trip to the mental hospital where Van Gogh stayed at St Paul du Vence and painted "starry night", we strolled through the town, grabbed a gelato and admired the architecture. We saw the birthplace of Nostradamus and the house of Sade (Sadochism). Alex was nice enough to drop us off in Aix-en-Provence and give everyone restaurant and hiking recommendations. He has travelled the world and seen a lot so it's worth listening to his unique perspective. Would definitely tour with Alex again. He was a great tour guide and driver, who was always looking to please the group.

The tour guide was excellent. She spoke very good English, and was very knowledgeable. She answered all our questions about the region. We toured multiple lavender fields, and several small villages. Some of the best photos of our trip came out of the day. The guide was very patient with our twin 6-year-old girls during the car ride. Would highly recommend.

The Tour was absolutely great, even better than expected. We had a lot of fun that day, saw beautiful lavender fields and 3 lovely small villages in the provence. Guillaume was the perfect guide, he gave us a great historical overview, made the time we spent in the car a fun time and was very ambitious to satisfy all the needs of the group individuals. Would definitely recommend it! I would even do it again!
