Le Havre Shore Excursion: Full Day Guided Tour of American D-Day Beaches including Lunch
US$168.36
Overview
The D-Day beaches of Normandy are among the most important WWII sites in France, but it’s difficult to visit without your own transport. This full-day shore excursion from Le Havre follows the route of the American troops, visiting Omaha beach, La Pointe du Hoc, the Overlord Museum, and the American cemetery. Lunch is included.
What to Expect
Your tour begins with a 9am pickup from Le Havre port. After meeting your guide and small group of up to 14 people, set out to explore Normandy’s D-Day beaches, battle sites, and WWII cemeteries.

Traveling aboard an air-conditioned minivan, make your first stop at Pointe Du Hoc to see the remains of the German bunkers and the 100-foot (30 meter) high cliffs that were scaled by the American Rangers in order to take out the German gunners.

After a visit to the notorious Omaha Beach, one of the most notable D-Day landing sites, pause to enjoy lunch (included) at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, tour the Overlord Museum, home to an impressive collection of artifacts from the battle of Normandy, then end your tour with a visit to the Normandy American Cemetery and Visitor Center.

Finally, return to Le Havre, where you will be dropped back at the port in time for your cruise departure.
