Fun and informative tour with Jessica!
My SO and I had a great wine tour with Jessica! Not only did we drink wine, but we learned about the city and about wine and its nuances. It was really an ideal evening tour and Jessica is fabulous! One not too miss!

    Really enjoyable evening
Really enjoyable evening. Our host was informative and knowledgeable and the wine bars were welcoming. A great group of other guests made the experience one full of laughter and amusement as we sampled lots of very good wine. Highly recommend.

    Wonderful wine tasting experience
My husband and I had a wonderful time with Jessica on the Toulouse wine bar tour. Jessica is very kind, easy to talk to and knowledgeable of the wine and the area. The establishments we went to and the wine we tasted were terrific. She was even kind enough to help us find dinner afterwards given we did not have reservations on a busy Friday evening. I would not hesitate to book a tour with Jessica again.

    Wonderful wine tour!
We would highly recommend this tour. It was a great way to learn more about the wines of the region and Toulouse itself. We don't go on many "tours" but really did enjoy this one!

Not just a wine bar tour
We learned about the wines of Southern France in a fun - packed trip to three very different wine bars. Jessica brought Toulouse to life as we "Tasted" our way round the city. We also learned about the must-see places to visit which helped us plan our next few days - recommend this tour early in your stay.

Chocolate and Pastry? Say no more 😊
We had so much fun on our Chocolate and Pastry tour with our amazing guide, Ally! She is very knowledgeable of all things culinary and a fun, warm and delightful person. We learned so much about French chocolate and pastries, while visiting many beautiful shops around the city. This was our second rendezvous with Taste of Toulouse and would highly recommend booking a tour. So if you're looking for a fun outing filled with fond memories, look no further.

    Tasty
Ally was friendly and pleasant, with a love of food, chocolate and dessert. She went with the flow of the group and the weather, engaged with each of the guests on the tour, and shared her knowledge of Toulouse in relation to the chocolate and pastries we tasted. Speaking with the chocolatier was a highlight of our tour. Would absolutely recommend!

A lovely evening in Toulouse with a fantastic local expert
What a great little evening we had in Toulouse with Jessica! (and Jennifer) We was shown around some great areas and of course provided with excellent wine! My knowledge of French wine was not great and so we had a very interesting time learning the particular rules associated with it, whilst learning about the different areas etc. It was certainly the highlight of our trip to lovely Toulouse 😊

Welcome to the wines of Toulouse and the south-west!
A very pleasant evening, sampling wine and strolling through the streets of beautiful Toulouse. In the warm evening sunshine, the city really lives up to its name…….la ville rose……🙂 Jessica and Jenn did a great job of introducing us to the wines of the surrounding area - with plenty of laughs along the way 👍🏻 Merci bien! Amazing Wine Tour in Toulouse
You must do this tour if you are interested in local wines! Jessica was knowledgeable, relatable and fun to spend the evening with. Her knowledge of the local wine culture and area wines was very enlightening. She was very interested in the types of wines I usually like and helpful in picking out things that might stretch my wine choices. I can't wait until some friends come to visit Toulouse with me and we can have the experience together. I'd give her a 10 out of 5 if it would let me.

An excellent tour for those who love to eat!
Jessica demonstrated an in depth knowledge of the items available in Toulouse. Her tour was informative, entertaining, and delicious! She worked to include our preferences in selecting the items that we sampled. A must do for any food and wine lover in Toulouse.

    Delicious wine, excellent tour guide
My husband and I took Jessica's wine bar tour in Toulouse and had a great time! Jessica is super knowledgeable about wine and about Toulouse in general, so we learned a lot. We tasted lots of delicious wines, learned all about the different regions around Toulouse, and got to experience some of the best wine bars in Toulouse. We would absolutely recommend this tour to others!

Had a fantastic time. Highly recommend!
My husband and I did the Wine Bar Tour tonight. After doing the Chocolate and Pastry Tour with Jessica last night, we knew we’d be in for a treat. Tonight surpassed even our high expectations. We learned about some of the different wine regions of France with a focus on the southwest region which includes Toulouse. We visited 3 superb wine bars and sampled a total of 5 different wines and had some delicious charcuterie. The best part of the experience for me was that Jessica made the world of wines seem so much less mysterious and scary to me. My comfort level with talking about and ordering wines increased so much. And most importantly, she was able to guide me to some red wines that I actually liked, which was great as I have always found red wines to be too tannic for my taste. Highly recommend booking this Wine Bar Tour with Jessica. You’ll be glad you did!

    Great Toulouse wine tour!
Jessica was a friendly, knowledgeable guide. She knows French wines and Toulouse very well! The wines we tasted were all delicious and the charcuterie board was more than enough for the group. Bravo Jessica and Taste of Toulouse!

A great way to start the night!
I thoroughly enjoyed this experience moving around some local wine bars in Toulouse which also provided the opportunity to meet some like minded travellers and enjoy their company. Discovering the wine regions around Toulouse was great too as often overshadowed by other more prominent regions. The tour finishes at a good time to grab dinner post the experience in proper French style.

Jessica Hammer really knows food and has an impressive grasp of all levels of edibles in her adopted city. Her Taste of Toulouse tours are absolutely wonderful, at least as far as we can tell from the one devoted to “Chocolate and Pastry.” My wife and I thought we knew Toulouse pretty well, but we were astounded by the places that we visited with her. This is not a tour that helps you just identify a “religieuse” or a “mille-feuille”: we’re talking about Michelin star-level chocolate and pastry shops. I recommend this tour to anyone interested in the sweeter side of food, even native Toulouse residents. For those who are coming from outside the area, it might be of interest to know that the tour also hits many of the most beautiful places in the “ville rose.” I can’t recommend Taste of Toulouse highly enough!

Our family of four (19 y.o. and 17 y.o.) had an incredible experience touring the Marché Victor Hugo with Jessica in mid-February. First, we were (unfortunately) in Toulouse for a short time and Jessica was very flexible to accommodate our schedule (thankfully it was also a slow tourist season due to it being mid-February).

As for the Marché Victor Hugo Tour, it was so enriching with her as our guide...we wouldn’t have appreciated the market nearly as much had we wandered aimlessly with our limited command of French. Jessica took us to half a dozen different stores inside the market. Having clearly done a ton of research, she provided a lot of background and fun facts about each store, as well as the market itself...plus she personally knew most of the folks working behind the counter at each store. At the end of the tour, we dined on all the goodies she had purchased along the way while quaffing down some delicious wine at one of the wine shops in the market (Chai Vincent). So definitely bring your appetite to the tour!

We enjoyed her Marché Victor Hugo Tour so much that we also signed up for Jessica’s Chocolate & Pastry Tour, which we also highly recommend doing if you have the time. She will show you the best chocolate and pastry stores in Toulouse.

Jessica’s market tour is jam-packed with interesting anecdotes, and delicious food and drink. If you’re looking for a way to delve deeper into French culture on your visit to Toulouse, there’s simply no better way to do so than by gallivanting through a typical French market with Jessica’s smooth expertise and savior-faire to guide you along the way.

Just by being along for the ride, you’ll feel as though you’re truly living the life of a local as you socialize and chat with different market vendors and joyfully gather all the staples for a gorgeous bite to eat just after the tour.

I took this tour in late July 2020, and all safety measures regarding COVID-19 are taken into account very well (masks, social distancing, lots of hand sanitizer) without dampening the overall authenticity of the tour and experience itself.

Bravo Jessica and Taste of Toulouse!

I have been on several food tours throughout Europe, and I'm sorry to say that this was the one I would least recommend. The Taste of Toulouse website says that Jessica is "happy to accommodate vegetarian diets," but that "accommodation" felt more like (in a group of both omnivores and vegetarians) being ignored. Jessica did not plan any replacement for vegetarians; her one accommodation was purchasing one more cheese for the tour's "lunch" at the end. While I appreciated her knowledge of regional food traditions and history, her presentation style was not engaging, and she was often unable to answer additional questions in detail. The tour felt drawn-out in a relatively small market; I found myself wishing that we could visit other restaurants (even Toulouse's other markets!). Overall, I wouldn't recommend this tour for vegetarians or those hoping for a large variety of food--we ate only bread/pastries, cheese, and (for omnivores) cured meats.

Hi MS, I'm so sorry you were disappointed in your tour experience. I pride myself on being able to accommodate a lot of different diets, but it does get complicated when certain members of a group aren't able to sample much from some of the stalls in the market. I'm sorry you felt ignored and that the variety of foods wasn't sufficient for you. You've given me a lot to think about how I can improve the tour. Because it's obvious that the experience didn't meet your standards - or the standards I set for myself - if you'd like to contact me directly via email (jessica@tasteoftoulouse.com), I'd be happy to refund your ticket. Best regards, Jessica

We had a fabulous group of ladies led by tour guide Ally! We were mostly all strangers but we hit it off well with the help of bubbly Ally. The small group size was perfect for navigating the market, and introducing us to its gems. My friend and I chose to do the tour at the beginning of our trip so that we would feel more comfortable navigating and purchasing at the market for the entirety of our trip. The food selection was amazing in the market and the specific products selected by Ally really showcased the region. There was plenty of food and the wine flowed freely! I think the price was well worth the tour, 3+ hours and a good slug of food , wine and knowledge! I was hesitant at first booking with the price set at around $100 per person, but it was a great return on the investment, my friend and I went on to use the info we learned in the tour to have a much better foodie experience in Toulouse and we made so much more confidence in the market for the rest of our week in Toulouse. Toulouse is a foodie dream and Taste of Toulouse helped us make those dreams come true!

Ally you are a gem, and I did get my tote bags!

Michigan blueberry farm girl Jessica, now well-established Toulouse resident provides the history, rationale, and stories with the story for Marché Victor Hugo. We made the rounds, stopping to sample or get in-depth perspective from vendors across nearly every major food group offered. All the while, Jessica collected meats, cheeses, sweets, and wines for a final deeper group tasting on the old barrel heads as the market started closing down for the day. We drank and ate next to a group of older men who’ve met there each market day for 12+ years, drinking rose and catching up. Plus, Toulouse and Atlanta are sister cities.

We had an amazing experience in and around Marché Victor Hugo with Jessica. You can feel her passion about the city, the food and the French way of life and her knowledge was absolutely stunning. If you are looking for an exceptional tasting tour with interesting facts, marvellous food and a lovely guide, you have come to the right place. I have done a lot of guided tours which is always interesting. But Jessica made us feel like hanging out with a friend in your own neighbourhood, getting tipsy in the middle of the day.

What a fantastic way to spend a Sunday morning! Our resident guide, Jenn, not only gave us a tour of the market and a range of its excellent producers, but provided interesting history, passion for food and local, insider knowledge to enhance an already luxurious eating and drinking experience.
In addition, the tour catered masterfully for my ever-difficult coeliacs disease, with Jenn providing safe alternatives to the bread and pattisseries I am unable to enjoy, while keeping me a part of the tour with simialrly flavoured sweet treats.
A perfect idea for the early days of your trip to Toulouse, we were provided with a range of reccomendations for local eateries to enjoy during our time here.

My boyfriend and I had a great time tasting our way through the market! The tour allowed us to see and understand a part of Toulouse and French Culture that we would never have otherwise experienced. Jessica is a wonderful guide - she finds the perfect balance of explaining history/ context while incorporating tidbits and anecdotes about the modern culture/ life in Toulouse. I would highly recommend this tour, especially to other Americans that don't have a familiarity with French/ European markets. I am a vegetarian, and the tour was very much veggie friendly/ worthwhile for me!

This tour was spectacular. We did the afternoon chocolate & pastry tour. We were the only people on the tour (there were two of us). The tour started at 3 PM and I actually booked it the night before at 7PM so very good last minute plans!! We went to 6 different chocolatiers and pâtisseries and had yummy treats at each (no spoilers!) Having only two of us was very nice so we could learn more but being in a larger group would be just as fine. Our tour took about 3 hours. We chose to have brunch around 11 and a late dinner because you will be full!

Jessica was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the sweets and the history behind several places in Toulouse. She was an absolute delight and even recommended several delicious vegetarian-friendly restaurants around Toulouse (which are very hard to find). Thank you Jessica!

TL;DR: It was an excellent tour that lasted about 3 hours that I booked very short notice. Highly reccomend 10/10
