Overview

This tour is a champagne lover’s dream. Enjoy the freedom of not having to organize transport, as you’ll have a minivan to drive you between spread out attractions. You’ll make the most of your day by sightseeing in Reims, seeing the UNESCO-listed Cathedral, and then having a tour of the Veuve Cliquot winery. Entrance fees, champagne tastings, a guide, and a delicious regional lunch are included, making it the ultimate fun, informative, and hassle-free day.

What to Expect

Visit a world famous Champagne house and Reims’s region

Meet your friendly guide at 9 am at Reims train station, hop in your minivan and start the day with a sightseeing of the city. Drive by the Cathedral “Notre dame de Reims”, one of the first monument to be registered as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Absorb the historical atmosphere of the city, home of the coronation of more than 25 kings of France, and later tragic heart of the two world wars. During your drive, pass by mythical Champagne Houses such as Pommery, Taittinger…

Thereafter, enjoy a full tour of the prestigious Champagne House “Veuve Clicquot” as a first introduction to the Champagne making process. Explore the magnificent UNESCO listed cellars, full of history and Champagne bottles ! Savor a nice morning Champagne glass and prepare your palate for 10 Champagne wines tasted during the day !
Wander through the vineyards of La Montagne de Reims while your guide explains the particularities of the region, from the grape varieties to the vine growing and winemaking process. Explore the picturesque historical village of Hautvillers, cradle of Champagne where the Monk Dom Perignon lived during 47 years and is now buried. Have a walk through the alleys of the beautiful church where the first Champagne bubbles are known to have come to life.

Tasting class and lunch

Drive through the Champagne vineyards with your expert guide and have a stop among the vines to enjoy explanations about the vinegrowing process. Be welcomed in a restored Champagne house and take one more step towards the unique sparkling beverage World with an immersive experience. Learn about the different aromas and flavors that can be found in Champagne through an olfactory workshop and a challenging blind tasting.

Enjoy a traditional aperitif followed by a regional lunch with paired wines and Champagnes in a fun and familial atmosphere. Get introduced to local products like baguette, Reims’ ham, regional cheeses, pink biscuit, Ratafia…

Discover an authentic Champagne boutique winery

Back in the minivan, appreciate the charming hillsides of Champagne and take the direction of a family run boutique winery. Visit the traditional press, vat room and cellar of an authentic Champagne grower. Stroll down the cool cellar corridors and glance at the great quantity of bottles slowly ageing. Enjoy several sips of their best–seller “cuvees” and find the best values of Champagne !

Your bubbly tour ends as your guide drives you back to Reims to conclude your Champagne tour.

A day in Champagne

We had a great day and even learnt a little more about tasting wine. Martin L was amazing. Veuve Cliquot was interesting and the cave something to see. The highlight for me was the Champagne master class.

Not sure... you could ask. The company was very quick at responding to a question we had. We all met at the Reims train station. But they did drop people off at the end of the day at different places.

It started at 9 and was done around 4. It was a full day. But at a relaxing speed. Could not recommend this tour more - so much fun!
