This was an excellent tour, hosted by a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, the two wineries we visited both had great tours and again shared knowledge and wine tastings. The small number in the group allowed us to see more and learn more. The village of St Emillion was just stunning and tour guide’s timing of arrival meant we got some amazing photos of the village and of the sun setting, Great tour and great tour guide, I would highly recommend this tour

The guide was very nice and introduced the history and general knowledge of the wine production in Bordeaux throughout the trip. I really enjoyed the small-group tour. Unfortunately, it was in the winter and it was rainy so we cant see the grapes and field very clearly. Highly recommend this tour and it would be lovely to go again during the summer!

Excellent afternoon. Our tour guide, Theo, was very knowledgable about the region and also educated on wine production process. He clearly has a passion for the subject, studied it for years, but he did an excellent job of explaining the region and wine production to our group (we were all novices). We were able to visit 2 chateaus (one of the chateaus were visited was actually 2 smaller chateaus that were run by the same family), did 2 separate wine tastings, visited the town of St. Emilion before returning back to Bordeaux. Great experience and would recommend it to anyone interesting in learning about wine, the region with an excuse/ride from Bordeaux to visit the town of St. Emilion.

We had a lovely afternoon but it wasn’t quite what we were hoping for or expecting considering we paid £168 for 2 people. The tour needs to be renamed Chateaux and St Emilion tour NOT wine tasting. We visited the first Chateaux which was beautiful and interesting learning about the process of how the wine is made. At the end your ‘tasting’ is of 2 wines with very small amounts in each (I’m talking two small sips). You are then taken to a beautiful old town and the knowledge our tour guide had on the history was really good and it was nice to see. It would of been nice to stop at this point for something to eat as everyone was saying how hungry and thirsty they were. After walking around for an hour we went to the other Chateaux but unfortunately everyone experienced the same educational details as the first Chateaux. Rushed through the whole tour we just wanted to sit and have an actual wine tasting and enjoy the view. Instead our 3 wine tastings again a mouthful were poured in the same glass (all very rushed). Our guide brought out a plate of cheese, meat and chocolate which everyone awkwardly ate as we stood around and enjoyed the view with well no wine. If you had the option to at least purchase a glass of wine at the end that would of been better. Basically if you want less than a glass of wine over 5 hours and want just the education process of wine making this is the tour for you. If you want to taste wine I do not recommend this tour for you.

Daylight robbery, can’t explain how overpriced this is for what you get. We spent most of the time in the car. Got 4 tiny glasses of wine, didn’t even get to wine tasting for over 2.5 hours after travelling and then given a strict flying tour of St. Emilion (where we weren’t even allowed to stop to buy a bottle of water on a hot day). We were constantly rushed by the guide. The ‘snack’ is some cheese and bread that the guide brought with her in a backpack!!!! Totally outrageous. When looking at the costs of the Chateau tours and tastings directly with the Chateau it becomes clear this is scandalously overpriced with very very little value. Recommend doing yourself or booking with a more honest and reputable tour operator who isn’t just ripping you off.

We were collected by our young tour guide, Romain, from the centre of Bordeaux to take us in a minivan to the village of St Émilion. The trip was very comfortable, taking about 50 minutes, to get to the first stop at Ferrand winery in Pomerol. There we had a very comprehensive and interesting tour of the various elements needed to make the wine. We visited the vines, the rooms with the stainless steel vats and the barrels. Then we tasted two rather wonderful Ferrand wines. The lady who conducted the tour spoke really good English and fielded many questions from the 8 people on the tour.
Romain then drove us to the St Émilion village to see the scenery and some of the beautiful buildings. We tasted some macarons and visited the 12th Century church with some beautiful frescos and stained glass windows. Then it was back in the van to get to the second winery of the day to see and learn about the winemaking process at Chateau Baladoz . The guy who conducted this tour was also great and was able to answer all our questions. The tasting session at this winery included some snacks of cheese, ham, bread and dark chocolate, which complemented the wines beautifully.
Romain has only been working for the tour company for a month but his manner is excellent. He has a good sense of humour and knew how to engage his audience and keep us well informed for the length of the trip. He drives well and safely, his spoken English is flawless and we all found him a really good guide. Bravo!

With our guide Quentin, we started our drive with the basics of wine, the appellations, the winemaking process, the various traditions, and the specificities of Bordeaux. Interaction was much encouraged, which made the trip more tailored to the participants. It was great that our questions were followed up by genuinely asking if we got the picture and otherwise rephrase the answer. Excellent English skills.

We joined the Ala Francaise Medoc tour and wine tasting to Chateau Desmiral and Chateau Lamothe-Bergeron . The tour provides a good introduction overview of the Bordeaux Medoc Region and recommended for a first time visitor to the region. Remy was our host and guided us throughout the afternoon. We left downtown Bordeaux at 145pm and was safely back in at 715pm. While these are not your big weighted Chateaus, it was good to hear from wine makers the wine making process and the unique nature of the Bordeaux classification and varietals grown in the region. A big learning for me was that Rose wine is made from the Red wine making process; and the Rose from Chateau Desmiral was a pleasant surprise wine with crisp and refreshing first wine we tasted. Remy took us a short instagram stop at Chateau Margaux which made the trip more enjoyable. His knowledge of Bordeaux made for a great enjoyable outing.

I am so sad we were not able to get to the tour in time. I was actually surprised that they were willing to let us arrive 10 min behind schedule. I am upset that our hotel did not guide us in the right direction as far as getting to the location we were supposed to meet. We asked for a taxi and was told it would arrive in ten minutes. We had plenty of time to get there (45 minutes). Our taxi unfortunately, did not arrive for 30 minutes— completely not acceptable on the hotel or taxis part. We wished we could have at least met the group by train. We literally missed them by 2 minutes. We only stopped here on our way to Paris for this tour. :( so- my advice (this has happened once before in Paris with the hotel ordering a taxi and the taxi does not show up en route to the airport!) is to walk 33 minutes over paying for transportation to the starting location. In general, this has been a consistent type of experience in France - which makes it my least favorite to visit!!! But, this tour group is highly rated and we are only upset because we were not able to get there for it. So— don’t listen to your expensive hotel- don’t rely on taxis or concierge. Use the bus or train or walk!! But get there.
