Bordeaux Vineyards Wine Tasting Half-Day Trip
From US$50.38
Overview
The Bordeaux wine region is one of the most famous in France and produces some of its most prestigious wines. This tour visits two wine chateaux in the Saint-Emillion or Mèdoc appellations, where you’ll enjoy guided wine tastings, and learn all about French wine, from the importance of ‘terroir’ to the complex classification system.
What to Expect
Travel from Bordeaux by air-conditioned coach and, depending on the day, set out to explore the wine regions of Médoc, St Emilion, or Sauternes. Along the way, listen as your guide explains a bit about the history of French winemaking and the wines that put Bordeaux on the map. Hear about the different grapes, the importance of ‘terroir’, and the seemingly complex classification system that includes Grand Crus, Premier Crus, and AOC.

During the tour, stop at two different wineries or wine chateaux, where you’ll have chance to stroll around the vineyards and explore the underground wine cellars. At each winery, enjoy a guided wine tasting and sample a selection of red, white or rosé wines. Based on your preferences, your guide can help recommend other varietals that you might enjoy.

Your tour ends back in central Bordeaux.

A sip of bad wine does not a wine tour make

We went on this trip on a Sunday, at no point in the booking did it say that this would only include 1 chateau, and one in the midst of a renovation. We spent a good 1-2 hours looking at creepy catacombs in an underground...More
