Overview

If you’re someone who loves history and prefers to plan ahead, book your Killarney horse-and-carriage tour in good time. With multiple departures spread across the day, choose the slot that suits you best. Then let your knowledgeable “jaunting car” driver guide you through town—the old-fashioned way.

What to Expect

Greet your driver at the Malton Hotel in central Killarney—and pet the horse, if you’d like. Climb aboard and relax as you trot through the town and your driver points out landmarks.

Pass St. Mary’s Cathedral, a charming thatched cottage, and Killarney House Gardens before you clip-clop into Killarney National Park. The country’s last herd of native red deer frequent the deer park, so keep your eyes peeled as you admire the misty mountains across the lake.

As you approach Ross Castle, a 15th-century tower house, your carriage driver will tell you tales of its heroic past. Enjoy a photo stop here before you return to the tour's starting point.

Perfect way to see the National Park and learn the history of the area

We were pleasantly surprised at what this tour included. We booked this as kind of an afterthought, not having other plans for the morning. We were expecting a ride around the town with a little history, but instead it was a ride through the Killarney...More

Our tour guide met us at Ross Castle and drove us back to our hotel. It was the same guide that took us to Kate Kearneys in the morning

Yes, no problem — l’d leave them in their carrier & there is room in the middle of the back bench seats either on the floor or on the bench seat!!
