About
Tick off three of southern Ireland’s top attractions on this day tour from Dublin, calling at Blarney Castle, Cork, and Cobh Heritage Centre. Highlights
  • Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Irish capital
  • Tick off three top attractions in one day, including Blarney Castle
  • Avoid hidden costs with all train and coach transfers included
  • Learn more about Irish history and culture from your guides
What to expect
  • Leave bright and early from Dublin Heuston Station on a morning train to Cork to begin your day trip. Have a leisurely breakfast on board as you traverse picturesque southern Ireland (all food and drinks are at your own expense), and then disembark in Cork and head straight to Blarney Castle, just a short coach jaunt from the city.   Tour the grounds and look for marked attractions such as rock formations fancifully named ‘Witch’s Kitchen’ and a ‘Poison Garden,’ housing a collection of poisonous plants. Then explore the castle ruins and learn a bit about the site’s beguiling and chaptered history. Climb to the top to visit the ‘Stone of Eloquence,’ known by many as the Blarney Stone; if you — like many others — wish to acquire the gift of eloquence, take your turn giving the stone a kiss. Next, take your newly refined speaking ability and head into the village of Blarney. Explore the colorful architecture, do a little shopping and enjoy lunch before heading back to Cork for a city tour. Your historical excursion concludes with a visit to Cobh and the Queenstown Story Heritage Center.  Explore the beautifully restored Victorian railway station that was the largest embarkation point for emigration in Irish history, and hear the harrowing and hopeful story of Annie, the first Irish emigrant to reach Ellis Island, as well as others like her. Then board the train for a relaxing return journey to Dublin, where your day trip ends at the station.

Wonderful day!
Mar 2020 • Couples
There were only 4 people on our tour today but it was wonderful! We had Peter, our fabulous tour guide, all to ourselves. He was very kind, as we found all the Irish people to be, and so knowledgeable in his countries history. The train ride through the countryside was beautiful and our trip to Blarney Castle and Cork were beautiful and unforgettable. Thank you Peter for such a wonderful day and experience :))

Breathtaking
Oct 2019
I took my daughter and we did a tour of southern Ireland, including the Ring of Kerry, the town of killarney and many other sites. Cork was a wonderful town, didn't disappoint. What can you say about the famous castle. the climb up to kiss the stone and when you look around and see the view, you get a feeling you could just live there. Even though the weather wasn't summerlike, it didn't rain except for a few drops, and was comfortable no matter when and where I went. The trick is layering. I'm going back.
Ireland is a beautiful, friendly place.

Blarney Castle was so beautiful! The grounds is so well kept.

Pros - not on a cramped bus all day

Cons - wifi wasn't available on the train

It was comfortable tho but made for a long day. But we had a good time.

wonderful tour
Jul 2019
We had a wonderful tour with Norman, Margaret, and especially John Todd! The train ride and tour is packed with lovely views and interesting information. Touring Blarney Castle is a must do in Ireland. The gardens and grounds are simply fantastic, I can't explain how much fun we had walking the grounds. Expect long waits to kiss the Blarney stone. Getting to see county Cork was fun as well. If you get lucky enough to meet John Todd get his advice on the rest of your trip, I swear he is a wealth of interesting knowledge of anything historical in Ireland.

Loved It
Sep 2019
Stephen our Tour Guide was probably the nicest most considerate guide we have had. Blarney Castle was a lot of fun. We had a long wait (90 minutes) due to most of the visitors were 70-80 years old and had a hard time negotiating the stairs and getting down to kiss the stone. We meet some great people while waiting in line. Cobh is a beautiful little town.

The best part of our trip was our tour guide John Todd!!
Sep 2019 • Couples
The castle itself is beautiful, the sites and scenery are amazing! It is definitely a must if you are going to Ireland! But the best part about our tour was John Todd, our tour guide! You can see his passion for Ireland shine through and how much he loves his country. He truly cares about the tourists getting to see everything that is a MUST SEE! He tells stories as to how it came about. His sweet and kind soul really made our entire day great. John was so friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend him being a tour guide if you want someone who is personable and caring! Thank you so much for a wonderful day John! Your kindness, caring, and sincere personality will never be forgotten! God bless🇮🇪

Fabulous experience!
Jul 2019
A lovely morning train ride complete with snacks trolley. It was a 2 1/2 hour trip to Cork, where our guide, David, safely transferred us from train to bus for the short trip to Blarney Castle. We had ample time here to explore the castle, the Poison Garden, The Rock Close, shop at the Blarney Woollen Mills, and have lunch. We also visited the beautiful St. Colman’s Cathedral in the town of Cóbn, as well as the Heritage Center. David shepherded us from the bus, to a commuter train that would take us to Cork, transferring to the train back to Dublin. He was marvelous and a wealth of information about all the places we visited. It is a long day, but so worth the time!
