- 907savioj0 contributionsAmazing Tour. Hassle free!!!Amazing tour!!! And shout out to Andrew who was delight on the tour. Best place to visit if you're new to Scotland and looking to visit the Highlands.Written 11 December 2024
- lorettaron0 contributionsGreat guide and excellent organisation for the trip.James was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Being in a small group was excellent as we could ask questions and learned a lot about Scotland as well as seeing some beautiful places.Written 8 December 2024
- 731raidak0 contributionsA Magical West Coast Experience with the Best Tour guideTouring Scotland’s stunning west coast with James as our guide was exceptional! His humor, fascinating history, and lively Celtic songs brought the experience to life. We explored majestic castles, listened to tales of old clan rivalries, and ventured through brilliant mountain scenery on this unforgettable journey to the Scottish Highlands. James showcased incredible knowledge, answering all our questions—silly and serious—with patience and enthusiasm. The mix of iconic sights, hidden gems, and personal touches made the tour truly special. A huge thank you to James for creating such a magical atmosphere—I highly recommend this tour!Written 7 December 2024
- sschleicher20180 contributionsOutlander fan must!Excellent tour! Tour guide was very nice. Only suggestion was give a little more time for pictures. Also tour guide walked very fast and started talking before whole group caught up. Nevertheless a Great tour!Written 7 December 2024
- klkev0 contributionsExcellent Way to Explore the Beauty of ScotlandMy wife and I joined this 16 person tour of Loch Lemond, Inverary, Oban and Glencoe - all of which were extremely beautiful. The tour provides a very nice Mercedes mini van (not a big 50 seater often used), which allowed for greater flexibility - particularly when we wanted photos of animals (hairy coos) and glens. The tour has many stops, though my personal favourite included a stop in the highlands to Oban and Glencoe. Travelers are given about 1.5 hours to have lunch on their own and explore the port town of Oban (which has a lovely distillery). However, the real value of this tour was our guide, Jeffrey C. from Rabbie's. *Jeffery C. is very diligent and extremely knowledgeable about all things Scotland. I would strongly recommend this tour - especially with Jeffrey.Written 6 December 2024

- rebeccab160 contributionsDisappointing tripI was disappointed in this trip. The driver knew little to nothing about the series and therefore didn't have much commentary to offer. The van had a flat tire during the trip, and unfortunately, we were halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow when it occurred. We had to wait on the side of the highway and it was VERY cold for over an hour for a replacement van to arrive. Consequently, we were not able to go inside Doune castle because it was closing when we arrived. The trip organizer ONLY refunded the admission to Doune castle and would not offer any further refund despite the trip being compromised and causing us to wait on the side of the highway in very, very cold weather for well over an hour. I do not recommend booking with Robbie's Tours.Written 30 November 2024

- DonnerB210 contributionsAn Amazing Day for Everyone! My friend and I had one full day together to explore outside of Edinburgh and Glasgow on our whirlwind trip recently. Although we are both fans of the show, I had not even finished season 2 at the time we booked this tour. We were drawn to it because it was a slightly shorter day than some of the other Rabbie's tours, and included admission to multiple sites. Here to say - DO NOT skip out on this tour because of the Outlander theme. Cameron ("old" Cameron as he told us to clarify - LOL) was absolutely outstanding as a guide. He struck a perfect balance of knowing the filming details of the show and also sharing general Scottish history in a really engaging way, including a lot of music to help him share the stories. The actual tour stops were all lovely. Was hard to believe we were actually not so far from the big city hustle and bustle while we were out there! When, not if, I return to Scotland, Rabbie's will be top of my list for tours after this experience. They more than deserve their 5 star rating here.Written 25 November 2024
- 429marissaa0 contributionsOverall fantasticLoved the entire tour. We had a great guide in James. Loved his humor and playlists. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and we had the right amount of stops and time to explore. Will definitely recommend this company to friends and return in the future. James navigated a long accident delay on the way home with poise and calm.Written 25 November 2024
- Trip430637795390 contributionsAwkward cancellationTrip was cancelled last minute, presumably cause of the weather. The company did not feel it necessary to let us know why though.Written 24 November 2024
- Roving132667370450 contributionsPhenomenal trip to the HighlandsThis was a last minute booking, but it was a fantastic tour! I can't say portions of it weren't luck, but we made multiple stops to take stunning photos of some mountains and mountain ranges as the clouds cleared up. It felt almost like the clouds were moving for us. The whole day was beautiful. The only time it snowed was during our drive, and every time we stopped, the sky was clear and gorgeous. It's probably the best tour I've taken in a long time. Lizzie is super knowledgeable on so much history and context on the tour, she was wonderful to listen to. Highly rated.Written 23 November 2024
- haleyk2480 contributionsJeff C from Glasgow is THE BEST!!!Jeff C from Glasgow is the best tour host EVER!!! He is hilarious, friendly and fed us every wonderful detail about Scotland and the Highlands where we traveled. He made extra stops along the way, so that we could get great pictures; and yet we stayed on track and on schedule! He made us feel very safe and taken care of. I loved listening to him talk about Scottish history, as well as the great music he played; which heightened the experience as we saw the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Thank you Jeff!!Written 20 November 2024
- 516hindec0 contributionsThank you Simon !!!The highlight of our trip was our guide Simon! and knowing that we saw so many gorgeous places, this means a lot! It was our 6th with Rabbie’s, and all the guides are absolutely amazing, but we have to say that Simon was our favorite one! Not only he is full of knowledge, very nice, funny, interesting to listen to for hours, he also genuinely cares to show us the best spots and give us a great experience and we felt it! We were able to see extra stops thanks to him since we had extra time, and he could have just choose to ignore this fact and go back earlier, but not, he cared about us, and it meant a lot! He is absolutely the best! And about the tour, we absolutely this one! We were able to see so many castles, stunning landscapes, Oban is a gorgeous town, and Glencoe to finish the day, is the cherry on the top!Written 19 November 2024

Rabbies did a great job. On a rainy weekday, they showed up with a very nice bus and educating / entertaining driver and took just 5 of us on the tour. Not sure how they made any money, but it was certainly a great day for us. Culzean castle was a really nice surprise and one of the best castle grounds we ended up touring in both Scotland and Ireland. We saw some of Ayr city as well, and the guide added a lot of local knowledge (and musical entertainment) to make the trip memorable. Would book again.

We were there with the dog. I was a bit disappointed when we arrived and had to pay £27 (family of 4) to enter the country park while the Castle and the kids area was closed.
Even with that I had to say we spent the whole day walking around. The views are just breathtaking. The dog loved it too.
I definitively would recommend 100%

We had an excellent day tour here with Rabbles from Glasgow, with a leisurely tour of the castle by the ocean, and a wander through the gardens. Then visited the Robert Burns Museum and Old Kirk in Alloway (inspiration for his most famous poem Tam O' Shanter), and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Ayrshire countryside with our knowledgable and genuinely kind guide Callum. Well worth the trip, even saw a Scottish wedding going on at the Brig of Don pub.

I did this tour recently with my mum, It was a birthday gift for her from myself and my daughter. Our tour guide for the day was Cameron, and he was an excellent driver and guide who very knowledgeable about the tour.
My mum and myself had a fabulous day. Culzean Castle was absolutely stunning, and if you had more time to spend there you could probably spend a day exploring the grounds as well, as there are so many other things to see and do. I would recommend the Home Farm cafe also for a bit of lunch.
On leaving the Castle we headed down the Ayrshire coast, and stopped of in the little town of Dunure where we also got to see the remains of, Dunure Castle which was also quite stunning in it's own way. And from there we headed off to Burns Country, (Alloway the birth place of Robert Burns), where we had the choice to go into the visitors centre or do our own thing. Cameron our guide did point out places of interest for us to look at, for example, Alloway Auld Kirk, Brig O'Doon and the Burns memorial garden and tower, all of which I would highly recommend to go and see .Overall it was as fantastic day especially for my mum who totally enjoyed herself.

I really enjoyed this tour. Although it was supposed to have sun all day we were lucky and it was a beautiful day and I got great pictures of Culzean Castle and the grounds. The Robert Burns museum was a good stop to learn about him. Peter was terrific. An excellent driver and made it a terrific day.

What a fantastic place. We spent a sunny day there on 23rd August 2021 , having driven from our accommodation in Ayr. We arrived at 1030 to visit the Castle and grounds . It was lovely and quiet early on , easy to park with different parking spots around the Estate if walking is a struggle. Walking round the castle we were almost alone and met a really informative male volunteer upstairs who clearly loved being there . When we came out of the castle , many more people in the huge grounds with the beach, walled garden , swan lake , deer park, children’s fantastic play area and much more….
We walked round the Estate and after 4 hours ate at the cafe . Food lovely. Really we could have stayed in the grounds until it closed , it was great. Felt the place was special .The beach was so peaceful . We are very glad we decided to go. If you have children take a picnic and rugs to sit on anywhere round the Estate. You’ll have a great day. Dog lovers also clearly enjoy it.

Excellent value for money. Our guide Tom was extremely knowledgeable about a wide variety of Scottish topics, including Robert Burns, Ayrshire history, whisky, clans, kings, and more. Plenty of time was given to see the sights, and the scenery was beautiful. Still disappointed Tom didn't let me smuggle a baby lamb home from the countryside!

I went on the Rabbies tour with James. He was a fantastic tour guide so knowledgeable and hilarious. The tour was great and James made sure to give us enough time for us to see everything on the route. It was the most fun and relaxed day out I have ever had. Highly recommend going on a Rabbies tour. I will need to book another one really soon!

Got off to a bit of a late start due to a mechanical issue with the van but it turned out to be a lovely day. Peter and George were excellent guides and led us all in a sing along as we traveled. I could’ve stayed longer at Culzean, I like to wander, but for most the stops gave ample time. Great tour for the price!

How much walking is on this tour?
Written 11 September 2019
There is a lot of walking that can be done on this tour; however, it is at a leisurely pace. You can go slowly and check out the cafe and bookstore and check out the lovely grounds, and set your own speed. There are some stairs in the castle, which are manageable. There is a lot of free time, so you can take breaks if needed. Like all tours, there is walking, but we did not find it vigorous.
