Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and Whisky Trail Small Group Day Trip from Glasgow
Discover Scotland’s dramatic landscape and even more dramatic history on this full-day tour from Glasgow. In a small group, wind through the Scottish Highlands to Stirling Castle, former home of Mary, Queen of Scots. Hear about legendary battles that took place there, then continue on to Doune Castle and Trossachs National Park. Enjoy lunch in charming Aberfoyle, stroll around Loch Lomond and take an optional whisky tour of Glengoyne Distillery.
What to Expect
Leave behind the city and get a taste of Scotland off-the-beaten-path! Your 9-hour trip through the wild Scottish Highlands starts in central Glasgow. In the morning, gather with your small group and board a luxury minivan for the first short leg of your trip to Stirling.

Disembark at Stirling Castle, a critical medieval stronghold that has perched atop its rocky summit since 1000 BC. The former residence of Scottish royals including Mary, Queen of Scots, the castle showcases fine architecture and furnishings, which you’re welcome to view with an optional tour (own expense).

Afterwards, head into the wild country, passing Doune Castle and Callander en route to Trossachs National Park. As your coach travels through rolling hills and green pastures, your expert guide will share fascinating true and fictitious tales about local figures like William Wallace, Rob Roy MacGregor and the illustrious Robin Hood.

Stop in the quaint village of Aberfoyle, nestled in the forest. Explore the town and grab some lunch (own expense) before heading to Loch Lomond, the last stop on your trip. Stroll on the banks of this tranquil lake and pop into the rustic Glengoyne whisky distillery. Buy yourself a tour and nip of local whisky, or just visit the shop.

Your full-day trip concludes with evening drop-off at the departure point in Glasgow.

The drivers are very cognizant of people's need to go to washrooms. They will stop every hour and a half to two hours at places where there are washrooms.

I recommend that you phone the tour guide to get answer to that question. The bus needs of course to have a baby seat.
