Outlander Film Locations Day Trip from Edinburgh
US$62.85
Overview
Scotland’s rugged landscapes and historic castles provide a spectacular backdrop to hit TV series Outlander, but you’ll need a guide if you want to follow in the footsteps of your favorite characters. This full-day tour from Edinburgh gives fans the inside scoop, visiting memorable filming locations such as Doune Castle, Culross, and Falkland.
What to Expect
Make your way to the meeting point on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile to meet your guide in time for an 8.45am departure. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned coach, head west into the Scottish countryside to discover the dramatic scenery that served as the backdrop to the Outlander TV series.

Stop to enjoy views of Linlithgow Palace en-route to the first destination – Doune Castle, which doubles up as Castle Leoch on-screen. Then, continue to the county of Fife to see the village of Culross, better known as ‘Cranesmuir’, the village where Claire was accused of witchcraft.

After lunch (own expense), spend time exploring Falkland, where the show’s Inverness scenes were shot, before continuing to other key Outlander sites, including Aberdour.

After an Outlander-inspired day, return to Edinburgh around 6.15pm, where your tour ends back on the Royal Mile.

The meeting point is the tour operator’s building. 60 High Street! We took an uber from Leith (close to the monument) which was about £8. To walk would have been 40 minutes and the ride was less than 10 minutes! Hope this... More
