Overview
Ideal for first-time visitors, this tour allows you to experience Edinburgh in a brief period of time, without the hassle of driving. Easily see city highlights, such as Edinburgh Castle and Grassmarket, in an open-top mini-coach, learn about local attractions from onboard audio commentary, and hop out to take photos. This small-group tour is limited to 15 people for an intimate experience.
What to Expect
Your tour begins at Waterloo Place in central Edinburgh, where you board the mini-coach and set off to explore the city.

First, ride down Princes Street and learn about Edinburgh Castle and the Princes Street Gardens. Continue on to Grassmarket, a historic market in the city’s Old Town.

Then, head to the central university area and stop for photo ops at buildings that inspired British author J.K. Rowling.

After that, drive down the famous Royal Mile and head to Edinburgh’s New Town.

Pass by the National Gallery and continue on to Queen Street and George Street, past Calton Hill, to the foot of Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Palace. Then, pass through the Canongate district.

Your tour ends back at the original departure point.

Not worth the money - would not recommend

We booked this tour as we thought the weather was a bit too cold to do a walking tour. It was not worth the money we payed and I would not recommend it. It was entirely our fault that this tour was booked as we...More

Hi Nicole, It's a shame that you hadn't realised that and that this was a audio-guided tour and therefore wasn't what you were looking for; I can understand that would be disappointing. Ultimately, we're sorry that you didn't think the tour was good value for...More

Disappointing!

The open roof concept is great however you can barely hear or understand the driver and the whole point of the tour is lost. It started to rain half way through the tour and by the time the roof was closed people were drenched and...More

Hi there, The City Tour is delivered by audio-guide and headphones are provided so there should be no need to hear the driver after departure, but we're really sorry that you had difficulty hearing the commentary. The roof does take some time to close, so...More

Great tour

Had a great tour with Derek. Would have liked to hear more of Derek's commentary, he was only really able to deliver when we pulled over for photo ops. The audio delivery was impersonal compared with live commentary delivered by other tour companies. Still learned...More
