Great private 3-day tour of the Highlands and Isle of Skye
We had a fantastic and comfortable trip. Our tour guide, Mike, was very helpful and nice, sharing interesting knowledge about Scotland throughout the journey. He was especially good at accommodating my parents, who are older and do not speak English fluently. He tailored the tour to our needs and preferences, going above and beyond in terms of service. We managed to see a large part of the Highlands and the Isle of Skye in 3 days, including both well-known and lesser-known attractions. I would highly recommend this company and driver to anyone looking to experience Scotland.

      Excellent Tour
Euan Alexander gave us an excellent tour. Rosslyn Capel, Hadrian’s Wall, and the Borderland in between. There were plenty of photo opportunities and breaks along the way.

      Fantastic tour
Our driver, Andy gave us very informative details of the places we visited. His driving skill was excellent considering that there were 3 of us who have motion sickness. We didn´t get sick on this tour. The communication with the tour operator was excellent. All of our queries were answered with added recommendations, too. Will be joining another tour and will book with them again. I highly recommend #heartofscotlandtours

      A memorable Scottish journey
The tour guide Keith, was amazing he took us through places with the most stunning views. Although it was raining part of the time he did not hesitate to make our journey memorable. The other travellers were fun to be with. There were many highlights with beautiful waterfalls and rugged mountains. Beaches and the world famous Pies, the ferry ride back from the Isle of Skye was very special as it had been cancelled the previous day, we were lucky it was operational for us.

Tick it off the Bucket List.
5 Day trip -Tour Guide Euan Alexander- Well planned trip allowing a good depth of experience of the Life and sights of the Highlands. I was particularly impressed by our Guide Euan , Above and beyond springs to mind . Being a fellow Scot my wife and I had taken a Bucket List trip renewing our knowledge of the areas in which we had spent so much time in the days when we were more able . I had not thought to learn anything new but Euan's presentation of History and facts proved me wrong . My congratulations to Euan for making a good holidays superb. Only let down was the changes we saw in Skye, its now a commercial area with good scenery.

A MUST do when in Edinburgh!!!
This is an amazing tour! It takes exactly 12 hours so it is a long day, but you get to see so much of Scotland. Our guide Callum was amazing! He was so knowledgeable about history, folklore and even threw in some personal stories to add context to certain areas. You can add the Loch Ness boat tour for only £20 while on the bus and they take care of the booking for you. This add on was well worth it, you learn a lot about the loch (lake) and when else will you get to ride a boat and search for Nessie? I cannot recommend taking this tour to get out of the city and see more of the beautiful country of Scotland enough!

      Beautiful views, informative history
My friend and I had the most lovely time on this tour! Angela was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. She did a great job pacing the trip and provided some very beautiful scenic stops. She did an amazing job relating the history of the highlands; there were audible gasps in the van during some of the more moving moments of the stories she related. In addition, her competent driving on the small and windy roads made me feel completely safe. An amazing guide; would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful day in the highlands.

We had a 5 day tour of Scotland. Our guide Euan was great, very friendly. Views were just spectacular, Scotland is amazing. There is no words to describe the feeling when you’re there. Loved Isle of Skye. Portree is a perfect town, very cozy and beautiful. Loved every minute of it. Days just flew by. Thank you so much 🥰

      Amazing experience
Our family of 4 took the 5-day Grand Tour of Scotland. It was FANTASTIC. Our guide, Euan A., was extremely knowledgeable about history, geology, culture, you name it. Traveling with a small group and such a great guide took away all the stress of traveling. I especially liked that Euan provided options so that it was a great holiday for everyone, as we had folks in the clan 14 years old up past 70. Itinerary was a great mix of history, sight-seeing, and getting outdoors. A fabulous way to learn about the Highlands!

Absolutely gorgeous landscapes and amazing stops!
My wife and I originally picked this tour because I wanted to see Hadrian's Wall and the other stops seemed interesting. We did not anticipate that the landscape of the Borders would be so hauntingly beautiful. Up to Hadrian's Wall was a nice little hike surrounded by cute sheep. Rosslyn Chapel was stunning and we learned a little about it's history and got to walk around the grounds. We happened to stop at Melrose during their Book Festival so the little town was very bustling and decorated for the festivities! If you are lucky enough to get Angela as your guide you will be in great hands! She had very interesting stories and facts about the regions we were in and she played wonderful music that added to the experience.

      First Class Business
We sadly wish we had been able to do this tour, but my husband has been in the Intensive Care Unit for 12 days, and is too weak to travel and has to be on oxygen for the first time. We had made this reservation months ago and paid in full. We are 3 weeks from our planned tour and I just notified the company that we are not able to come. I got an Immediate response and refund the next day! We didn't expect that (hadn't really looked at the refund policy) but are so impressed with the integrity of this company. We fervently hope to re-schedule next year when health permits, and we now plan to extend our tour plans for a longer trip on the Wee Red Bus. We are truly blessed with businesses like this one in the world.

It was a cold snowy day February 11th and I was afraid it might cause our trip to be cancelled, like had happened the day before with another (unrelated) booking. However everybody was right on time and we were welcomed by Iain, our host for the day, in his Wee Red Bus. The weather did not affect his mood and soon after welcoming everybody aboard we were well on our way.

Not long after we left the city we were stuck in traffic on our way to Stirling Castle. Iain tried improving our lost time by taking alternate routes, telling stories to keep us in a good mood. Iain is a wonderful story teller, I really liked his version of Braveheart. Unfortunately we still arrived a wee bit late at Stirling Castle (sorry, not Scottish but really like to use 'wee' whenever I can :) ). It gave us little time to walk the premices but after Iain still managed to squeese in a wee visit to Doune Castle (that I had requested being an Outlander fan). I am really thankful for that moment.

Having had so much bad luck with our time, Iain decided to take us up into the highlands for a little photo op at Milarrochy Bay before having a lovely lunch at the Oak Tree Inn.

After lunch we visited Glengoyne Distillery. I am not a whisky drinker, but really liked this look behind the scènes. After our second glass of whisky we departed the distillery and headed back to Edinburgh. Iain played his playlist of Scottish artists, turns out he's an excellent DJ as well. It made for a pleasant journey back.

I had a wonderfull day and hope to return to Scotland soon. I'll then certainly be booking another tour with Heart of Scotland. I have my eye set on the Best of Scotland tour already.

Thank you Iain for a very good day!

On a snowy, wet and windy day, Iain entertained us on the way to Stirling Castle a lot with good historical and cultural info about our next visits, also mixed up with a good joke. The weather was snowy, wet, windy so there were no good scenery views for picture, so Iain drove especially to Doune Castle as alternative for a goto moment. Loch Lomond walks were also impossible since flooding but that setback was for me totally compensated by the enthusiasm of Iain. Glencoyne distillery was also very interesting. My son and me would like to do the same tour again in Summer when there's more chance for sunny spells. If we do it a second time, we will ask Iain as guide again !!

Hi Flemish Scouser (interesting 'handle' BTW!) and thanks for travelling with Iain on our Stirling Castle, Highland Lochs & Whisky day tour. Pity about the rain but if you're planning to return in the summer months we look forward to seeing you then. We'll make sure the air conditioning is working properly :-)

I was skeptical about spending a full day on the "wee red bus," but it was a great experience! Howard was a knowledgeable and funny guide; I'm sure his patter is well rehearsed, but it always sounded fresh. The tour went to Stirling Castle, Doune Castle, and toward the highlands to Loch Lomond and the Glengoyne Distillery, with sufficient time at each. Lunch was on your own in Drymen. It didn't hurt that it was a lovely sunny day. Alas, the highland cows never made an appearance, but plenty of other fauna and flora did, and the views were lovely. This was definitely worth the time and was a good value!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this small group tour - max. 16 - we had just 8 in our group including 2 people who turned up on the wrong day !! But to be fair, our guide Paul took them with us and sorted out with the office later. Because we didn’t mind cutting back a little on stop times, Paul was able to take us via the Forth Estuary and Doune Castle extra. Paul also told us how to get served more quickly at lunch how to get the best out of the visit to Stirling Castle. Overall, a busy but well paced day and very well planned tour.

This was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Angela, was a breath of fresh air, exuding charisma and friendly charm from the very first minute until drop off. The trip included interesting stories, anecdotes and themed music relating to whichever area we happened to be in, hand selected by our guide. The actual route consisted of some beautiful roads winding along various lochs, Stirling Castle, and a whisky distillery. A thoroughly enjoyable day out. Thank you Angela !

We are from Hong Kong and Euan was our tour guide. He is really really a nice guy who cares about everyone in the tour. On the red van, he introduced Scotland's history and explained how everything is related to the scenic spots. We also enjoyed the trip to the Whisky Distillery and will definitely join them the next time we visit Edinburgh again.

We are on a short stay in Edinburgh, Scotland but wanted to explore outside of the city. This one day excursion exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Evan was outstanding. Fun, informative, funny stories, and gave us a much better feel of the real Scotland and not the Hollywood version. We covered a fair amount of territory and wish some of our stops were longer but there are only so many hours in the day. We made four stops and drove by several sites. First stop, Sterling castle, Euan gave us the real story behind the castle history and important battles. It is well worth the visit. Every room had a story to tell about the lives of the royalty and the common folk. The next two stops were short but picturesque and a chance to grab a quick bite. The final stop was Whisky tasting. Again a fun and informative experience. Highly recommend the experience and hope Euan is your guide. You are in for a great day.

Andy drove us on our tour and was our tour guide as well. We visited Stirling castle, we saw Highland cattle, we stopped for a casual lunch, we went to Loch Lomond for a short walk and we visited a whiskey distillery.

Andy told us lots about the history of Scotland apart from being a great driver. We started out with lovely sun and mid day the rain came at the end of our Loch Lomond visit.

The scenery is gorgeous. We both enjoyed the tour a lot.
