Wonder Scottish Highlands Tour
When our 3-day group tour with another company was canceled we contacted Timberbush. They were very responsive to our request and as a result we have had an amazing experience on a private tour. Our tour guide and driver Gillian is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She provides insights into the history and adds interesting and entertaining stories and anecdotes along the way. We were told that she was “Scotland Incarnate” and this is true.

We had the best experience in this tour. High 5 to our very accommodating, relaxed and informative tour guide Graham Dryburgh! It was one of the best tours we've ever had. Thank you!

Authentic Scottish experience
Oct 2021
I thought I would enjoy the trip and I did, though not for the reasons I expected. I wanted to see castles and Skye, but what I really got was:
- charming insight into the Scottish spirit through our fantastic tour guide, Rory (FACT!)
- interesting historical anecdotes about the most exciting period of Scotland's history, the Jacobite risings
- the grim beauty of the Highlands in typical Scottish weather
- some proper dad jokes
- and of course the COOS (highland cows, but you are legally required to use a Scottish accent for pronouncing them)!

Hello, We do our best to ensure every passenger on our tours gets a true insight into the spirit of Scotland and its people, so it definitely sounds like you managed to do that with Rory as your guide. There really is so much to see on the tour from castles to beautiful land formations (always helps if you manage to spot one of our Hairy Coos on the way!). We hope to see you again in the future! Kind Regards, The Highland Experience Team

We found that this was an excellent way to explore the NW highlands and Skye coupled with an unforgettable trip on the Hogwarts Express. Comfortable 25 seater coaches that can negotiate the narrowest of single track roads, pleasant company, good class accommodation all in the safe hands of an experienced driver/guide. We were particularly lucky to be placed in the hands of Scott who entertained us with endless tales of the the history and myths of Scotland, its folklore and its geology. We never ceased to
be amazed by his skill in safely negotiating the narrow north Skye roads while keeping up an uninterrupted commentary of tales and song complete with sound effects.

Disappointment in Scotland
Sep 2021
Driver was pleasant but not very experienced. We saw the sign to Loch Ness twice but never visited it nor obviously were we able to take the the Loch Ness cruise. Accommodations for overnight stay were not acceptable. We were in one of three houses that had been converted into sleeping rooms--hardly not a romantic spot--one step below Motel 6. Our trip basically consisted of going from one rock formation to the next--worst trip we had in over 30 years. To be fair, the driver was affable and friendly!!

Over the sea to Skye (by bus)
My husband and I just returned from a 3 day tour to Skye and couldn’t be more pleased with the trip. Our guide (Steve P.) was superb in his knowledge about the areas that we visited and made the whole journey fun. We absolutely loved the ability to see so many different sites and learn interesting facts about parts of history. We stayed at The Skye Inn and were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and well kept the Inn is maintained. The walk into town was easy when we wanted to catch dinner after a long day. I’d recommend that if you plan to eat dinner n town, you try and book a couple of weeks out. There were a lot of places closed due to staff shortages or COVID so getting in last minute was not possible.

This is the first bus tour we’ve ever done. What a great way of seeing the well known sites as well as some things that were off the beaten track. We were also pleased at how comfortable the bus was to ride almost 600 miles round trip. A couple of tips … keep a light rain jacket with you at all times, a phone charger (ports are in the bus), just must wear a mask on the bus at all times so keep a few spare.

Loved it. Absolutely loved it. Our guide John showed us the absolute best of Scottish hospitality and took us through some well known paths and some where there were no tourists at all. That gave me feeling of being on top of the hill!

Wonderful tour & excellent knowledge

The views were spectacular with Moray giving facts and stories along the way. Very informative and tips of local interests ( where to eat/ drink / wc ) with options and variety of establishments. The itinerary was jam packed with amazing attractions accompanied with Scottish music parts of the way. The coach was a good size with charging ports too.

Sunny Glencoe and Skye
Aug 2021
Joined the trip in Edinburgh where we met Kelly, our bus driver/tour guide. From the start, Kelly was amazing, her knowledge of Scottish history and scenery was very good. We headed north through Falkirk to see the Kelpies and then onwards to Glencoe. We had numerous stops for sightseeing and comfort breaks. It was a long day as we headed to Inverness where we were based. Unfortunately by the time we arrived in Inverness there was a difficulty in getting food as restaurants were already booked up. An early start the next day as we headed to Skye. Kelly’s cheesy jokes and banter kept us all going. Again there was plenty opportunity for sightseeing. There was a round of applause as Kelly negotiated the Quairing on Skye, the first time she had done this route. Well done Kelly. Even having to do a three point turn on a single track didn’t faze her The scenery was beautiful with mountains and lochs all looking spectacular in the sunshine. This was another long day as we travelled back to Inverness. We think probably a base nearer Skye would have been more preferable. The bed and breakfast we stayed in was sufficient for our stay (we believe that others in our group were not so lucky). Thoroughly enjoyed this trip although we had a one day stay in Inverness as we were travelling on to Orkney, so we didn't travel back with the rest of the group. Highly recommend this trip and Kelly as a tour guide
