Belfast Mural Tour
From US$37.02
Overview

Get a local’s insight into the Troubles that divided Belfast and how they shaped the city and its street art on this intimate street art tour. See colorful murals created by both Nationalist and Loyalist communities, including the celebrated Peace Wall, as you travel around Belfast with ease in a London-style black cab.

What to Expect

Enjoy a street art tour of the many murals that adorn Belfast’s houses, walls, and “peace walls”, built to divide warring communities. You’ll learn about the Troubles, when Nationalists and Loyalists fought over whether Northern Ireland should unite with the rest of Ireland or remain a part of the United Kingdom, and see their impact on the city’s street art.

As you travel in a London-style black taxi, your guide uses photos and videos from the 1960s  to explain the neighborhoods you visit. You’ll feel the atmosphere as you stand on the exact spots where historic events took place and learn the stories of the individuals involved.

We took this tour primarily for educational reasons. Michael was our guide and did an outstanding job. He obviously knew his history well and presented both sides of "the troubles." We made about 5 stops to get an upfront view of the history as well...More

Hi, no it is a cab/private car/van tour, where the driver who lived through the conflict takes you to the murals and other important places . They stop and explain and you can get out and take photos and walk around.
