      Disappointed
We were not informed of the cancellation until 9:30 am the day we were booked in. By then it was too late as we had travelled across London and did not have internet connection during this time.

      Amazing Food Tour in Brixton
Thank you Obi at Gorgeous Events, Tours, and Experiences for an excellent African and Caribbean Food tour through Brixton Market. Obi is an excellent tour guide and he looks out for his customers. He checked in with me the day I was leaving DC to confirm the tour and make sure I applied for my EVisa. When there was a last-minute change to the tour schedule, Obi was quick to communicate. The tour was wonderful! We tasted food from three different restaurants. There was also a main course that included a dessert to takeaway. Obi is truly an expert on Brixton as he grew up in the neighborhood. It was not the typical tour where the guide is reading from a script and pointing at things. Obi has wonderful stories to tell and extensive historical knowledge about Brixton and London in general. He sent me a list of places to visit and I did my best to hit them all! If you are planning to travel to London and are looking for a good tour guide with extensive knowledge, please reach out to Obi. You can contact him via his website and social media. Visit Keith Lee’s TikTok review to get an idea of what to expect on one of Obi’s tours. Don’t forget about the little people when you blow up Obi! thisisgorgeous.com

      great and unforgettable experience!
This food tour was an unforgettable experience! In the beginning, our guide Obi warmly welcomed us and introduced us to the history and culture of the London neighborhood Brixton. With his incredibly friendly, accommodating, and authentic personality, he brought us closer to the individual specialties, as well as interesting details about them. The selection of local streetfood-stalls was excellent, diverse, and exciting, and we also heard stories about the different stands we visited. The small group size made the tour very pleasant, creating a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely do the tour again and can highly recommend it to anyone interested in African and Caribbean food, or simply those who would like to try it, as well as to anyone who wants to learn more about the history of the Brixton neighborhood! We would definitely recommend visitors to come with an empty stomach and avoid eating a few hours before! :) We wish you lots of fun on the tour! Alexandra and Helene

Come hungry and leave with belly full of delicious food and mind full of knowledge of Brixton Market flavors and history
I can’t say enough positive things about this tour! Obi is incredibly friendly and approachable. He will answer all your questions. His customer service is second to none. This is more than a tour, this is an experience you will never forget. The food was delicious and fresh. The history of the market will stay with you forever. I highly recommend Obi for all your London tours. Many thanks Obi for going over and beyond.

Great tour, outstanding guide and often overlooked history
Outstanding and enjoyable insights into a different side of London. Obi is personable and knowledgeable. He tells the story of Brixton, including before the post war immigration changed it, and the changes resulting from the immigrants who ended up there, and made homes, while changing London. It was fun, and the food was excellent. Really a great tour experience. If you are interested in learning more about London’s diversity, you should take this tour.

Get filled with Brixton history and delicious food!
Obi made our food tasting/Brixton tour very informative and tasty! Prior to the tour he is very communicative to ensure a smooth start to the day at meeting point. Upon arrival, Obi was very welcoming and made sure to get everyone acquainted. Even with the weather being a bit rainy, we still got our bellies filled and had a great time. I appreciate how Obi paired his personal stories with the history of Brixton and photos for comparisons of the area past to present. Obi made a genuine effort to connect with us and keep us engaged. He truly cares about the community he grew up in and wants to prevent the erasure of culture that tends to happen with gentrification. The chicken patties and puff puff were my favorite snacks. We definitely got stuffed with our stops. And could've taken leftovers. Obi surprised us with the yummiest dessert to close out time together which went by too fast. The remaining businesses owned by locals were lovely to see and patronize.

      APPALLING SERVICE
The service was appalling. Food was good. We weren’t even offered water. Had to ask for re-fill of tea and water. Our waitress seemed to not be bothered with serving us. Other waiters seemed more attentive than ours. Really not the service we expected from our time at Harrods. Very disappointed.

Excellent food tour that includes history of Brixton
At the suggestion of our cousin, my husband and I booked the African & Caribbean Food tour in Brixton. Little did we know that we were in for a treat. Obi was our tour guide. He arrived promptly and immediately began discussing the fascinating history of Brixton. He took us to an eatery for chicken Jamaican chicken patties. They were fresh and delicious. He also took us to an Ethiopian restaurant for delicious food and honey wine. Every place he took us offered great food. The portions at each location were generous. Obi is very generous with his time and he has a very warm personality. He made sure that we enjoyed ourselves. Obi is also an excellent resource for information about entertainment and restaurants throughout London. In closing, book this tour. You will not regret it.

Just as good the second time around
Had such a good time in February I had to do it again. Got to try some of the same foods (PuffPuff - yummy!) and some new foods because Obi likes to mix it up. It was just as great the second time around. Might have to do it again. And again. And again...

A wonderful way to see London
What a fabulous way to see London. The afternoon tea was wonderful and we got to see London in a different way. The staff were fantastic. The driver Ethan stopped at most of the sights which gave a great opportunity to take candid photos Monica and Robina were so helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. Loved it

      ALL ABOARD!!!
Board with me on the international train from Bethnal Green… for an absolutely loved experience!!! Located under railway arches, the train station and carriage set give you the sansation to be on a journey even with windows projecting scenery flashing past and the sound of the train rumbling along. During dinner the actors take you through a situation on the train where one of them is murdered. Your job is to piece together the clues and decide who the murderer is. But I can’t say much more as don’t want to spoil it :))) I want just let you know that the actors were very funny and engaging… and they will make you fun so much! What about FOOD? Simply delicious!!! First you can enjoy drinks at the Seven Sins platform bar and, once onboard, you'll be delighted with a great 4-course menu created by MasterChef finalist Louisa Ellis, including excellent vegan options.

      crap
Firstly told we are split into teams, come up with a cheese name and encouraged to make cheese jokes. Then taken to Fortnum and Masons which was more crowded than the Tokyo underground and hang around for ten minutes until they've set things up. At that point we left. Had no cheese. Complete waste of time and money. So many better things to do in London.

A must do - you’ll love the food, and your ‘soon to be legendary’ guide Obi.
Quick find me another star - because this is a six star experience! You must do it. Obi is fantastic. He has the best personality for this type of tour. Fascinating, heartfelt, and personal stories about Brixton and the people who made it what it has been been - in fact since Obi knows EVERYBODY - it’s likely that you’ll meet some of them on your tour. And then there’s the food: D-licious!!!! A mix of true Caribbean flavours at their best. If you have yet to meet the ‘Puff Puff’ - your culinary life is not yet complete. Wow!! Obi’s phenomenal taste in food goes above and beyond to find the food that is right for you - no matter the dietary requirements. The Vegans among us were equally joyous. And it is all done in a way that genuinely supports and affirms the Britton community. Obi - you truly are Brixton’s other ‘greatest export’. Cheers, mate!

Jack was a great guide. We had so much fun on our cheese tour. We stopped at four different locations, most of them were beautiful, old establishments going back to the 1,700’s! And tried about 7 different cheeses. I brought my 14 and 11 year old sons. My older son actually picked out the tour as he loves cheese and likes to do walking tours. Recommend for anyone who wants to hear some history of some of the old, very posh shops in London, and try some interesting cheeses.

We were so looking forward to this tour but it wasn't great. We walked to 3/4 different places - thought that Fortum and Mason and Wholefoods was obscure as they are department stores? Each time amongst 100 other shoppers, we were given tiny bits of cheese to taste, very random. Very little information in-between walking from one place to another and then ended up at a "real cheese shop", Neals Yard and were not given what they specialise in - stilton!! Or any blue cheese for that matter. We felt that trip was wasted - not a mention or visit to la Fromagerie or Paxton and Whitfield The tour was expensive for what we got - very very average and amateurish.

Well, what a disappointment. Booked this fun-sounding tour for a small group of us to celebrate one of our favourite cheese-loving friend’s special birthday, hoping it would be a highlight of a weekend break in London.
Sadly, even after emailing the operator to confirm it was all going ahead, the host didn’t show up at the meeting point. We tried to speak to the organiser by phone, but could only get through to a call centre who confirmed we were at the correct meeting point at the right time, but were also unable to reach the people running our tour.
We ended up doing our own tour, including some spectacular Welsh rarebit at Fortnum’s, accompanied by cocktails. Not the day we’d planned, but we made our own fun.
Notes for the organisers…. A quick text/email/whatsapp update should have been a minimum courtesy to let us know how the host was delayed or not coming. An automatic refund too, without having to spend ages on the phone only to be told they will TRY and apply for one for us.
A real shame. I wouldn’t recommend based on our experience, sorry.

We waited for the guide who never showed up. We were not notified in advance. I spent about an hour on the phone (paying international phone rates) and spoke with several people at different organizations. I did get a refund, but this really should have been handled better.

A really enjoyable two hours, sampling cheese, listening to cheesy puns and jokes and visiting some excellent stores. Monterey Jack was an excellent tour guide who kept us entertained and informed. We sampled seven cheeses in total, along with a glass of fizz! In short a lovely way to spend a couple of hours!
