As a 63 year old with hip mobility issues I was very cautious about trying the surf taster session. I enjoyed it so much that I came back for another session!!! Glyn was fantastic, supportive and suggested how to manage the Pop-Up with my restricted movement. By the end of lesson 1 I had managed to catch a wave and stand up. By the end of lesson 2 I was catching waves with ease, standing up and doing an elegant dismount. Thanks Glyn for making the lessons fun! Dfinate 5 stars.

Loved the lesson, Glynn the instructor was great very professional clearly very experienced. As a solo female, I felt very comfortable and confident throughout the lesson. The beach is also a beautiful location with a nice cafe on site, parking is easy enough and to top it off I managed to get stood up on the board so all in all a great lesson would definitely come back again :)

Absolutely best lesson weven ever had Marko was brilliant at explaining everything. We even stood up never able to before.

I must thank Robin for fitting me in after I only booked the surfing class the afternoon before. Also for Glynn the instructor for his experience and patience in getting me to be able to stand on the surfboard - even if it might have only been about 15 seconds my goal was achieved.

Big thankyou to Marco, he was great with me and my daughter. Lovely and relaxed session and he got the instructions across well. Would definitely recommend.

Lesson was brilliant! Monty was a great instructor - patient with the middle-aged un-co-ordinated members of our group and really encouraging throughout for everyone. Got us into the sea really quickly. Time shot by - everyone had a fantastic time!

Another superb 4 lessons booked June and August 2024. I had the most fun on these lessons from being out with children to people similar in age it doesn’t matter, the instructors are amazing! Big shout out to Alex, James, Glyn, Marco and Ned for all your patience with the newbie older surfer lady! And to Charlie for your awesome photos 🤩 The whole team are the just the best! Had an awesome couple days of surf lessons with freewave. Marco did a great job teaching and giving feedback and always made sure the group was in the safest area of the beach. Great introduction and confidence builder to get out there and send it.

My two kids (14 and 16) had a wonderful time learning to surf. The lead instructor (Marco) was great, and everything was well organised, from booking through to the lesson. Would go again. On the day, it was quite windy, so bear this in mind when booking (something I'd not considered.). The beach has coastguards on it, who were very good about shutting off just one section, rather than the whole beach, which allowed the class to continue. Charlie was also on the beach and has taken some excellent photos. Overall, very happy and would recommend.

I organised multiple activities for the week-coasteering, surfing and we hired SUPs. We were a large group and Robin’s communication was excellent and the booking was very easy to make. The meeting place instructions were all crystal clear - we knew exactly where and when and Robin’s team were always there ready and waiting for us. Monty and Alfie were the coasteering and surfing instructors and did a fantastic job - everyone had a brilliant time coasteering at a fantastic location and the surfers had an amazing experience and were all able to stand on their boards. The SUPs were all ready and waiting for us when we arrived and were all put away for us on our return - all in all a great week of activities which worked perfectly for our large group. Thank you Robin and team!

James was a fantastic instructor, the group was small and personable and most importantly it was so much fun! Was able to stand up by the end. Learnt a lot and will certainly be doing it again! Thanks again James for a great time.

I was able to book a session the night before for my 12-year-old daughter and her friend. Due to the tides, there was a change to the start time which they called me about within minutes of making the booking. Joining instructions were clear and they were kitted out in wetsuits to keep them warm so they could enjoy the experience. The group seemed to be a very manageable size. The beach was beautiful, as you might expect it Bude and better than Bondi! They came out absolutely buzzing having had a great few hours in the sea. thank you to all the team and especially the instructor, it was one of the highlights of the holiday

Absolutely fantastic paddle boarding session on the Bude canal with James, our instructor. We booked a lesson as we wanted to learn how to use the boards properly and it was excellent. Really good value for money and great instruction. We were quickly up on the boards and felt very safe. We will now hire boards through the same team to use going forwards as the boards were really good quality. Heartily recommend all round - brilliant and must do experience whilst you are in Bude.
