- rkjvmeer0 contributionsFriendly and Fun!Pauline was so friendly and fun and made sure everyone was comfortable on their Segways before we began our tour. During the tour, we rode along the coastline of Devonport, then through neighborhoods and up to the peak of Mt. Victoria. Pauline shared the history and pointed out interesting things of the area around us as we went along. Once at the top of Mt. Victoria, we had ample time to enjoy the spectacular view, including the Auckland skyline, and to take photos. Thank you, Pauline!Written 8 February 2024

- Riddlegiver0 contributionsFabulous way to see Devonport! We had a few days in Auckland prior to joining a group tour so we booked this experience. You need to take the ferry to Devonport to join the trip. The office is located right in the ferry terminal as you arrive. The weather was very windy but the Segways were perfect for maneuvering the quaint suburb of Devonport, including the steep hills. Very fun and enjoyable way to cover a large area, and Pauline provided great background information along the way.Written 16 July 2023
- Karina S0 contributionsAn honest reviewThe day was drizzly and overcast. The lovely Magic Broomstick team and I braved the weather and had a fantastic time! Our guide was friendly, informative and knowledgeable about the area. She was able to answer questions and tell delightful anecdotes. The riding instructions were clear and at a pace that suited. I highly recommend this for a wonderful way to discover more about a beautiful place. The views were breathtaking, riding was fun and the company was just brilliant.Written 19 June 2023

- Q4605YRangelac0 contributionsFantastic way to spend an afternoon5 of us had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon doing the taster session with Pauline. My niece, nephew and brother in law had never been on a segway before and this was the perfect way for them to get used to it and see some of the sights with a few facts about the area thrown in! We were 50/50 on whether to do it due to weather and so glad we did! Whether you’re a pro on a segway or not I thoroughly recommend taking a tour with PaulineWritten 12 April 2023
- 216stephend0 contributionsExcellent morning out in north shore AucklandPauline was an excellent trainer on the Segway as well as an outstanding local tour guide. Strongly recommend this tourWritten 11 April 2023
- lgecc0 contributionsPauline, a magic broomstick and North HeadA rave review for Pauline of Magic Broomstick segway tours in Devonport. We did the North Head tour and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of Pauline's commentary, insight and knowledge. We stopped frequently to discuss local history, sights and events - Pauline quickly adapted her tour to our interests - and never felt rushed or as though we were wasting time. We travelled along the waterfront, up to North Head, explored the fort on foot as well as by segway with a brilliant view of yachts racing in the harbour and Rangitoto Island. Downhill we went to Cheltenham Beach, the Devonport Museum, Mt Cambria Park and back to the ferry terminal. We are experienced riders but we knew we were safe under her direction. The advertised tours are spot on in terms of destinations, highlights and time. We were on tour for two and a half hours.Written 25 March 2023
- Guest_06_20120 contributionsGreat fun and a must do in DevonportThis was such a fun experience and lots of information on the history of the area as we went along. Good small group of people. Loved the time you get in the park to have a blast around on the Segway. Would highly recommend this as a fun experience and worth the trip to Devonport to do it. If I was going again would take the ferry from the City to add to the experience.Written 18 March 2023

We really enjoyed our hour or so scoot around the waterfront & back streets of Devonport. Pauline was a great guide sharing history of the area as we went.
As it was a lovely day, we found a couple of new spots for swimming.
We thoroughly recommend this experience, alot of fun :)

My husband and two teens had a great time learning and exploring on this tour. It was a fine but windy day when we took a spin on the Segways at Labour Weekend. After a short training session on the wharf we started to explore around Devonport. Pauline was very supportive of our 13 year old who was nervous to start with but became happy and confident quite quickly. She was a very informative guide who stopped to show us points of interest along the way. We've been to Devonport a number of times before but we went down new side streets and found new places along the way which was great. A great family activity which everyone enjoyed.

We had never been on Segways before, and being mid 50's were a little concerned. But they were very easy to operate and we caught on quickly.
Pauline, (I think that's her name), was perfect for showing us around and taking time with us. She was great for stopping and pointing out historic and detailed areas of Devenport.
When we tour, we try to find ways to mix things up as we tour around the country, and checking off the Segway was a great way to do this.

My wife and i had a great time on this tour. It's only a short ferry ride ($14 round trip) from where we got off our cruise ship. We would definitely do it again if we are in the area.

Just finished at wonderful tour of Devonport with our fantastic guide Allison. What a great way to get around and have a local guide who is clearly passionate about her community leading the way. It was heart warming to hear a number of locals call out and say hello to Allison as we passed on by. My only wish is that we had done the longer tour.
