Overview
This 5-hour whale-watching adventure from downtown Vancouver gives you the chance to see whales and other marine life. Hop aboard the ‘Ocean Magic,’ a 62-foot flagship vessel, and keep your eyes peeled from one of several viewing areas. Learn about the local history and geology from knowledgeable crew on board, and soak up views of the Gulf Islands, San Juan Islands and Howe Sound.
What to Expect
Fall in love with the beauty of the Gulf Islands, San Juan Islands and Howe Sound on this 5-hour whale-watching adventure. Informative crew will share their stories and knowledge about the history of the area, industry fun facts and of course, the marine wildlife.

The tour departs from the Westin Bayshore Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Step aboard the Ocean Magic, a 62-foot (19-meter) vessel built for whale watching and designed to minimize its ecological footprint. Settle inside or outside, from one of three viewing areas on two levels, or move about the boat to try out all the vantage points.

Have your camera out and ready as you scan the waters for different species of whales, as well as an array of seabirds and other marine life.

Humpbacks in October!

Unforgettable experience. I wasn't sure what to expect since many tour operators end their season in September. Orcas are hit or miss in the fall. But we lucked out with beautiful weather and saw many sea lions. Two humpbacks drifted right up to our boat...More

Their office is located inside the lobby of the Westin Bayshore Hotel. Meet there and proceed to the vessel at the dock nearby.

The trip lasts anywhere from 3-5 hours. It all depends on when and where you spot the whales. Our trip actually lasted a little over 5 hours because we didn’t spot whales until late in the trip.
