- J1147LFjohng0 contributionsA Great Experience! My wife and I are experienced and discerning diners. Our host, Karen, was terrific, as were the people who joined us. Karen is extremely knowldgeable both with regard to food science and the local restaurants. The food and drinks and the restaurants and personnel were very enjoyable. We REALLY enjoyed this experience and recommend to any visitor to Calgary!Written 1 October 2024
- U9166UPkatiel0 contributionsGreat experience on the Calgary Iconic eats tour!We had a wonderful time on the Iconic Eats of Calgary Food Tour! We loved all the restaurants and felt very full after! Our tour guide Karen was amazing! All the stops even accommodated Vegan and GF, with delicious bites at each stop.Written 16 September 2024
- K6670SKelizabethd0 contributionsBest to come with an appetite!!This was such a fun tour!!. I knew that we would be having "Brunch" of some sort so came hungry and glad I did :) The Beef and Bacon Breakfast Burger was a tremendous start. Along with VERY fresh berries and OJ with a twist, I was well satisfied (as was my husband). Lisa gave a most excellent tour, combining interesting facts about agriculture and small food industries in Alberta with personal information about the various vendors we were to see. Much fun and we learned a lot - food for the brain as well as body. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Visitors to Alberta will appreciate this time well spent.Written 26 August 2024
- cindylF6163BX0 contributionsBest way to spend a Sunday in CalgaryA wonderful food tour! Great value, you won’t leave hungry. Start with breakfast, lots of samples and treats from 15 of the local vendors. Highly recommend 😁Written 28 July 2024
- brendagS2485SM0 contributionsEnjoyable, informative experienceWe were part of a group of six on a Sunday-morning tour. Our guide, Lisa, was excellent—enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was delightful to hear the vendors’ passion for what they do, their commitment to respecting the land, soil, and animals under their care. I would only say, as mild criticism, that some of the samples were rather small and uninteresting.Written 26 June 2023
- B6731BAkristinas0 contributionsOutstanding Tour Guides and CompanyI work for a tour company and we often take our guests on a Calgary Food Tour. The guides are some of the best in the industry and the tours immerse you into the culture, history and storytelling of Alberta. This company goes above and beyond for all guests and I would highly recommend their tours when visiting Alberta!Written 9 August 2022
- gails9820 contributionsGreat way to spend an afternoon! We received the 17th avenue tour as a gift. As Calgarians, we weren't sure what to expect. We met up with our guide & group at Cibos where we were welcomed with a glass of wine. Our guide made everyone in the group feel comfortable - people from all over the world made it more fun! We toured the Cabo's building and chatted with the chef while he made fresh pizza - delicious. And that was just our first stop! Three other restaurants who all treated us exceptionally well and a stop for a craft beer and then for desert a make your tea and meringue tasting rounded off a fantastic afternoon.Written 11 February 2020
- Rebecca S0 contributionsInteresting for tourists AND locals!Really enjoyed this tour from start to finish. The food was amazing. Our tour guide, Nicole, was genuinely lovely and considerate, as well as sharing her knowledge of the area. We joined as tourists from Europe, so we had no knowledge of the area at all, but the sense I got was that this was a tour that locals would equally enjoy and find informative. Hard to pinpoint my favourite moments of the tour as each stop was unique and interesting in its own way. My recommendation to anyone going on this tour is to make sure you have a spare hour afterwards as well, as there were a few places I wanted to go back to and browse further!Written 26 November 2019
- Sunyak1230 contributionsCalgary farmers market tourWe enjoyed the calgary farmers mkt tour. Without this educational tour the farmers mkt visit would have been brief like an hour. But with the education, samplings and brunch it was a good 2 hrs. Our children got special treats that were healthy too, including one who eats gluten free. Overall a great indoor experience!Written 12 November 2019
- Allan0990 contributionsAn enjoyable experienceMy wife and our adult son attended the Sunday Brunch & Farmers Market tour this past Sunday. The lunch and tour were excellent. Your guide Lisa was very informative and lots of fun. We will definitely consider taking another tour with Alberta Food Tours next summer.Written 11 November 2019
- Cleemar M0 contributionsWow wow wowSeriously everyone who wants to enjoy downtown Calgary as a tourist needs to do this. We have people from Calgary, LA and Vancouver on our tour. What a great way to grabs bites at some phenomenal eateries, support local business and learn about door and the city. Would do it again for a host of reasons. Karen was our guide and she loves the city and food and was super relaxed. It was one of the best food tours I have done in any city to date. The variety of cuisines was well balanced and got lots of great ideas for other places to eat as well. So worth the money.Written 6 October 2019
- Denis D0 contributionsFood tour in the snowWhat a great food tour... loved the different cuisines (Italian, Indian, Korean, French) and learning about the history of 17th Avenue. It was our first time in Calgary, and it is a great introduction to the food scene. Our guide Nicole was excellent... knowledgeable, friendly and enthustiastic. We would highly recommend this tour to new (and repeat) visitors to Calgary. Well done!!!Written 5 October 2019
- Jeff I0 contributionsLots and lots of food.We didn't expect a 3 course sit-down lunch and then five stops, each with different tastes. Show up hungry. The guide was very knowledgeable about the food scene in Calgary and made a number recommendations for us. Alberta Food Tours did a great job designing this tour and working with local merchants.Written 22 September 2019

Big thank you goes out to our tour guide and company founder Karen! I have thoroughly enjoyed a mix of wonderful food samples and history of Fairmont Hotel and surrounding area. The food was straight from the restaurant menu’s and plenty for a lunch. The tour was set up in accordance with COVID 19 safety rules and very well organized so did not take away from our experience. Small group allowed for more personal feel. I highly recommend this tour, enjoy!

What an incredible experience! I was blown away by Karen’s knowledge, not only of the food and food artisans, but of the history of the Banff Springs hotel itself. The quality of the food and drinks were top notch, and there were delicious non-alcoholic options as well! Karen is so kind and warm, and has a great ability to read the room, adapt the tour, and add that personal touch. I was expecting a good food tour, but this was so much more! From meeting the chefs, to a cooking lesson, to private rooms and tastings! I can’t wait to try out the other Alberta food tours next time we visit!

Good experience but be aware that valet parking was $50 CAD. Option was either on the street, free but a long walk (I was late), or $15 CAD in one of the hotel lots. Only thing valet did not explain to me that it was $15 per hour. Tour was 3 hours so basically paid the same but had to walk a bit from the lot for basically the same price as valet.
I usually research everything better....but fell woefully short this time. I was running late due to having to cancel and rebook rooms, meals, etc in Jasper due to the fire that cut off electricity.
Otherwise, very entertaining tour with good food and drinks and fun meeting fellow participants.

Hello dear food loving friend,
Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. I know that future travellers will find your information about parking helpful.
Thank you for separating the parking issue from our tour which you found "very entertaining with good food and drinks" and that you had "fun meeting fellow participants."
Sad to hear your trip to Alberta was affected by the forest fire of 2022 in Jasper National Park.
Please come back and see us again. You will always be welcome!

We were so happy we decided to partake in this Canadian Signature Experience rated tour which definitely lived up to our expectations. Our delightful guide Barbara enlivened our delicious food and drink pairings with stories of the castle (hotel) and food facts about Alberta. With the tour being in mid-afternoon, we expected we would be having dinner later that evening, but didn't need to, as we were quite full after our 'Eat the Castle" afternoon! Thank you to Alberta Food Tour owner Karen Anderson for putting together such a great Banff experience!!

Fabulous food tour combining a close look at one of the world’s iconic hotels, along with a very interesting “behind the scenes” look at the workings of the hotel’s restaurants. Great food & beverages, while visiting four different venues within the famous Banff Springs hotel. Our tour guide, Norma, one of the best guides we’ve had anywhere in 50 years of worldwide travel. Run, don’t walk, to sign up for this one!

What a great way to spend a few hours at the Banff Springs hotel! Nora was our tour guide accompanied by Sue who just happened to be a chef. They were fun and engaging while they toured us to the 4 locations throughout the hotel. The food and drinks that were presented were amazing. We found it hard to pick a favourite and were very full by the end of the tour. Make sure to go hungry!

This tour was awesome and the history was great. I would have been lost without a tour guide throughout the hotel. I have allergies and they made sure all the food I was eating was safe. If you have time to spend doing this tour go for it!

We loved our experience on the tour! It was a full three hours of tasty food and drink pairings while exploring the historic Banff Springs Hotel. Our tour guide Amanda was very engaging and definitely knew her history. We got to visit several different sites around the hotel in addition to the restaurants and learned a lot of fun facts about Banff's history. Highly recommend!
