Professional guide

We went for a city tour and later to Lake Louise and Johnston Canyon with Jeenie from Discover Banff Tours. She was extremely professional, erudite and willingly went out of her way to make the trips memorable. She was well versed with the places of tourist interest and the icing on the cake was hot and tasty chocolate along with delectable maple cookies. She was very friendly and guided us very well. On a special request we asked her to take us to Your National Park.

A bit expensive, but glad we did it
Oct 2019
When we purchased the tickets, we thought we would see both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. But it turns out that by Oct 26th the road to Moraine Lake is closed off. So we only got to see Lake Louise for the whole 4-hour tour. Our guide took us to two additional vista points, both of which were mediocre. The weather was extremely cold, and snowing. So standing outside wasn't as enjoyable, but that's not the fault of the tour company. Our guide himself was great. He was knowledgeable about the area, the animals, the history of the national parks, the story of the First Nations, etc. And he sprinkled in some appropriate Canadian humor in there too. So, those 4 hours flew by. The shuttle bus ride was comfortable, safe with seat belts. Ride was smooth and warm, but not stuffy.
I think this tour would have been great in the summer months, when the weather is good, and you can see both lakes. In the shoulder months, it's too dangerous to see Moraine Lake, and there's no ice skating available either. To see just one lake (the less dramatic one), it's not worth paying for a tour for two lakes.

Friendly tour guide and nice scenery
Oct 2019
I was very fortunate enough to have great group of people with me and the tour guide was so friendly and understanding. I hate to admit but I was one of those guy that actually showed up 30 mins late at the pick up site (note to yourself, parking is extremely hard to find around the hotel whereas they suppose to pick you up) due to parking issue. Our guide ended up driving away and have my husband follow the bus so they can point my husband to a place where he can park. After the 30 minutes hurdle, the guide was able to pick him up and continue the tour and I was so grateful to have such amazing team with us and very knowledgeable guide.

Neil was an excellent guide with great information about history & locales...

I was surprised that the maple cookies were "store bought" & the water was not individual bottles but small plastic glasses.

Still would recommend it! WE WERE A FAMILY WITH ADULT CHILDREN...no category below.

Read the fine print
Although I am the one that made the error-this tour should not be booked after Oct 14th as Moraine Lake area is closed. For me that is the reason I booked according to the name of the tour. They should edit the name of the tour if a portion of it they know will be closed. We didn't go and we did not get refunded the $170 for two of us. Our concierge at the Fairmont in Lake Louise even agreed with us that the tour should have been suspended as soon as the portion of it was closed. :(

Hello Donna, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback to us. You're completely right, this tour does typically include Lake Louise and Moraine Lake however the access road to Moraine Lake closes in early October each year due to avalanche risk by Parks Canada. After this point, the tour spends additional time at Lake Louise. We're sorry to hear that you didn't see the information about the Moraine Lake closure when booking online, and we have requested a refund for your tour through TripAdvisor who it appears you booked with. If you do not hear from them shortly, please follow up with them directly as we have approved the refund on our end but they have taken your payment. As a result of your feedback we have created a different tour specifically for the fall season after Moraine Lake access is closed, to make this clearer for all guests visiting Banff from mid October to November. We hope that you enjoyed the rest of your time in Banff.

Wonderful Experience
Oct 2019
This tour is highly recommended to see the most beautiful lakes and mountains on earth. We were very impressed with Nick and his knowledge of the history of the area. He is so pleasant and made the trip fun while seeing such beautiful sites. If you do nothing else while in Banff, take this tour. Not having to deal with traffic or trying to figure out for yourself where to go makes the tour well worth the time. And the history of the National Park is so interesting. Thank you Nick for such a pleasant experience!!

Top-notch experience

We were lucky enough to get Nick as our guide. He narrated all kinds of great factoids as we stopped at one beautiful place after another, culminating of course with Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. We saw an elk with her baby on the ride back to downtown Banff.

Dream Trip Came True
Sep 2019
Our trip to Canada was the result of my wish to visit Lake Louise, the one place my husband and I talked about but never made. He is now in Memory Care and my daughter and husband took me. I was surprised at the number of older people enjoying the sights especially because so many beautiful vistas were found along excellent walking paths which were quite easily navigated. The whole area of Canmore is lovely, staying at The Malcolm was a perfect choice, quiet and majestic
Setting, beautiful walking paths for me, running paths for daughter. The Canadians treasure their beautiful country and there is rarely a spot of litter, an amazing sight when I think of the blight our lovely cities have been allowed to become in the United States. This inspires me to believe that our politicians certainly need to focus on this problem, it can be solved. We took tours of the lakes, try to go during the week, not weekends, there are many tourists. We found the food lovely and served with excellent quality, not quantity! Also the tour of Calgary was quite interesting and well presented by a guide who had grown up in the area. This was one of my best organized trips, plan before you go, my daughter thought ahead and planned according to our needs. I would recommend this trip.

Breathtaking
What a fantastic day tour. Neil was the ultimate tour guide and driver, giving us the history, highlights and hints for the beautiful Lake Louise and Lake Moraine and the stunning scenery between. The views were spectacular and the falling snow added to the experience. Perfectly timed tour for after lunch, that gets you back for cocktail hour, with pick up and drop off outside your Banff hotel.
