- colinrP3721PS0 contributionsUnhappy tour. This trip was recommended to us by our AC rep. We did not want to be gone from the hotel for longer than 8 hours - he shared that this trip would have us returned to the hotel by 4pm the same day. Our trip was NOT as outlined: Departure was at 7am - we travelled quickly to Playa del carmen where we waited for over 2 1/2 hours for everyone else to arrive to start the trip. We then took at bus to our first of 4 stops - Tulum. Upon arrival (around 10.30 am) in Tulum our guide Michael said to meet him on the other side of the store.....As a large group we got to the other side of the store.....but no Michael to be found anywhere - we waited for over 1/2 an hour for him to show up with wrist bands. From there we had to wait in line to get into the ruins (we were told by our AC rep that this tour is normally first in the ruins to avoid the line ups). Once we got inside the ruins it was really interesting...however, we only got to spend about 45 minutes total in there because we were running behind schedule. Michael gave us a stern history lesson on the ruins (over 5 times he shared that the ruins are not a house). In the end we were given 15 minutes to look around and take pictures. We would have liked more time as it was really interesting but that did not happen and Michael made it very clear that if we were not present at roll call - he would leave us behind and go on the tour without us - in fact at Tulum, one couple got separated from us and he was prepared to have us all sign wavers that he tried to find this couple and was unable to so he left them behind. The truth is that Michael was not great at communication and he clearly expected everyone there to follow him and not stray. The challenge for all of us was that there were thousands of people there and many tours going on - he was not easily identifiable in the crowd and it was easy to get separated. Swimming with the sea turtles was a good experience. At the Cenote - it was not as described - basically we jumped from 6.1 meters or 5.4 meters into an open Cenote. We did not explore the cave as it was sold to us. You were only allowed to jump in - walking in was not allowed. My wife would not jump from that height and some of the tourist in our group did not jump as well due to a fear of heights....this was very disappointing. The last visit of the day was to a "Restaurant" in the middle of the jungle. No running water or TP in the bathrooms - not enough food for all of the tourists, only provided one bottle of water or pepsi as part of the meal....again, very disappointing. I shared pictures with our AC rep and he shared them with this tour company. Michael ate...while we were standing and waiting for a table (in total there were 12 of us waiting). The pics included are of the Restaurant line up and the food which was offered to us. The tour ended at 9.10 pm - 14 hours after we started. Our kids were starving and we managed to hit the buffet in our hotel at 9.20 before it closed at 10 so that they had something to eat that night. This tour was a miss - the cost after exchange was almost $1000 - not worth it at all in my opinion. Michael clearly favoured tourists who spoke Spanish/ Mexican over english - we spoke with other visitors on the bus who felt the same way.Written 6 January 2024
- E6747FZlisad0 contributionsAn Unbelievable experienceMichael was an excellent guide. We covered the Tulum ruins, swam and (jumped) in the Venice, ate at a great restaurant and snorkeled to swim with the turtles!!!! All in one day! Both Michael and Roman (our driver) kept us on schedule for the day. I love the history that Michael shared with our group. NS Tours is lucky to have Michael and is a top notch group.Written 4 January 2024

- Hailey M0 contributionsWear your swimsuit under your clothesMake sure you wear your swimsuit under your outfit otherwise you’ll have to rush to change on the bus. Other than that it was a good time! Super informative tour and it moved pretty quickly, which was nice cause we still got photos without being in the direct sunlight for too long. The cenote was gorgeous and fun, you have the option to buy photos from the photographers, so if you want bring card or cash (they offers 12 for I think $35 USD) Seeing the sea animals was amazing and you get about 50 minutes at the end of the day swimming with 2 guides from the beach. And you get back to your resort/home and at super decent time!Written 30 October 2023
- N2907PVglennd0 contributionsHighly recommend 10/10Incredible experience. The cenote, ruins, and sea turtles were all as advertised. Our guide Adrian did a fantastic job keeping us well informed in multiple languages. Our driver Oscar got us everywhere very safely. And Israel was so great keeping our group together. The buffet lunch was really good and had an awesome authentic Mayan environment and the tour even gave us a small lunch bag for the trip. Overall it was well worth the time and money and I'll definitely be doing it again on our next trip. The Cenote had high dive platforms, rope swing, and a cave to swim in. Lifeguards and life jackets to make sure everyone was safe. We got lucky and several turtles up close on our trip. And I learned so much about Mayan culture at the ruins of Tulum. Highly recommend 10/10Written 9 October 2023

- Distefano380 contributionsFantastic tour with MichaelMichael was a fantastic guide who went the extra mile so we have the cenotes by ourselves it was uncrowded at the beach with quality gear. He was very knowledgeable throughout our tour in Tulum answering all the questions and was very thorough in his English translation.Written 2 October 2023

- D7779EAelizabethp0 contributionsBest cenote and best tour guideI've been to Mexico before with my mom and we came again, but decided to check out Tulum instead of Chichen Itza. I have to say, other than the spectacular views of the ruins, we had the absolute best tour guide. Michael and Jaime were so incredibly knowledgeable about everything and they took very special care of our group in making sure it wasn't a sales grab. I also got so unbelievably sunburnt with sun poisoning and Michael made sure that I got out of the sun and taken care of. We got put to a separate van that took us straight to our hotel since we were last on the list and I really needed medicine from my room. Also, that was the most beautiful cenote I've ever seen and because of their due diligence, we practically had it all to ourselves. Michael went above and beyond at all points and I can't praise him enough. Give him a raise.Written 11 September 2023
- sarahdL2399DN0 contributionsDefinitely Go!This was an an amazing tour! The ruins of Tulum were gorgeous despite it being so terribly hot. Informative tour guide. The cenote was beautiful and cold. Snorkeling with the turtles was definitely the highlight of the trip. We saw about 4 and one swam right past my face! Israel was a wonderful guide and I highly recommend him. Christopher was a great driver.Written 21 August 2023

The tour was great. We started off with the ride to Tulum. Herlan was a great tour guide and very informative about the ruins. We then went to the cenote which was very beautiful. Had a wonderful buffet lunch at a local restaurant. The food was amazing. Then off to Akumal for snorkeling. Saw a few turtles which was very cool. It was a great trip. Herlan was the best!

We had a great time on this tour. Adrian and Michael were our tour directors and Jose was our excellent bus driver. The tours were as described..both Adrian and Michael were very knowledgeable and explained the Tulum ruins so we easily understood the culture of the Mayan people and the dwellings we saw. The akumal snorkel was great...we saw turtles..big ones, stingrays,a squid and lots of fish. The cenote was very beautiful....emerald colored with a platform to jump from...approx 18 foot jump. A buffet lunch was included with delicious food. It was a long but pleasant day.

Amazing experience. Herlan & Adrian were great tour guides. Incredibly knowledgable and helpful and friendly. All three pieces to the trip were great, as was lunch. Highly recommend, get to see and experience a little bit of everything from the ruins, to the cenote, and lastly swimming with the sea turtles. Would do it again if/when we return.

My girlfriend and I booked this trip because it seemed to include a little bit of everything we wanted to do, and it did! We started at the Tulum ruins with our guide Adrian, who was very knowledgable about the culture surrounding the creation of the ruins and also where to stand to get the best shade. Then we loaded onto an air conditioned bus with our other guide Michael and driver Enrique and headed about half an hour to a beautiful white sand, crystal clear water beach, where we were fitted with lifejackets and snorkeling equipment and followed a guide into the water in search of sea turtles. We saw 5-6 and our guide knew how to time when they would come up for air (and thus close to the snorkelers) before moving on and finding another. That experience was about an hour, after which we loaded back up and headed to a beautiful cenote. There was a platform about 6 meters up that you could jump off of, or stairs for those who would prefer not to. The fresh water was welcome after snorkeling in the sea and we had another hour in that location. Finally we were taken to a little roadside restaurant with a small buffet of good food and a fantastic lime soup. It also had a small gift shop with a bit nicer merchandise than the ones in town. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it!

We were on this tour today. Our guides were the sweetest beings. They were knowledgeable, one Mayan (Herlan) and one Aztec (Adrian), so genuinely kind and attentive. Engage them and learn about their cultures beyond the tour stories.
The stay at Tulum was too short. We saw and learned a lot, yet were eager to understand more.
The cenote was awesome. Take the plunge, swim into the cave, buy the pictures. The water is so clear you see everything. Only our tour group of 18 and a handful of locals were present. It felt like a private moment in history before the world knows it is there.
Lunch was delicious. All of it was great. Try everything...careful with the salsas. They offer the opportunity to test your ability to handle some heat. Don't show off.
There is a cooperative shop here. We took the opportunity to learn about our Mayan birth messages and purchased a obsidian that correlates with this calendar. The spiritual elder washed this stone, blessed it, blessed us and asked the Mayan gods to keep us safe.
The adventure with the turtles was a highlight of our agenda. It was so fun, exciting, and way too short. The turtles were in abundance and eating on the grasses as expected. You are closer to them than it felt you should be. Know that they surface unexpectedly right beside you if that is what they desire. Being face to face with a turtle is so exhilarating. I let out a yelp as he was too close, or I was to the turtle. I was not ready for this to be over as quickly as it was. This had nothing to do with the tour, rather regulation of the water guides and government.
We highly recommend this adventure. It was a perfect way to spend a day of vacation!

The guide did an excellent job. The lunch was fantastic. Would have been helpful to know that at the ruins only re-usable water bottles are allowed. No plastic disposable water. The turtle swim would be better with fins.

I saw that it said "not recommended for pregnant guests." Is this up to client discretion or will pregnant guests not be allowed to do some of the activities? I'm in my second trimester, very fit, and feel very confident I could participate in all activities as long as it's allowed.

We will be traveling with children, ages 11,5,8 are all activities (snorkeling) ok for all ages?
I see it says moderate activity level, are there lots of stairs, wondering what the most rigorous aspects are?
