To truly appreciate the archaeological sites of Tulum and Coba, it's best to explore them with a guide. Discover little-known facts and see more of Mexico’s Maya ruins on a day trip from Cancun or Playa del Carmen. Tulum Ruins (7 hours)
Following pickup from your Cancun or Playa del Carmen hotel, travel to the Tulum ruins in an air-conditioned coach. On arrival, absorb views of the Caribbean Sea from a cliff-top perch before taking an in-depth tour of the archeological site, established during the 13th century.
Then, continue to a nearby cenote for a refreshing swim surrounded by limestone caverns. Sate your appetite with a buffet lunch featuring Mexican dishes such as quesadillas and salad accompanied by water, soda, and beer.
Coba Ruins Tour (4.5 hours)
Following lunch, you’ll travel to the Coba ruins, an archaeological site enshrouded by the rain forest. During a guided tour, you’ll learn about the significance of the complex and have a chance to climb to the summit of Nohoch Mul, the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan.
After free time to explore independently, you’ll return to Cancun by coach.
