Overview

Beat the crowds and the midday heat on an early morning tour of the Teotihuacan Pyramids from Mexico City. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the pre-Mayan archaeological wonder will come alive with your guide’s narration. Enjoy the early morning tranquility of ancient pyramids and temples, or chose an afternoon departure to see the site in a different light. Plus, your tour includes a visit to an obsidian workshop and a mezcal-tasting session.

What to Expect

The trip begins with pickup from one of two central meeting points in Mexico City (your choice upon checkout) during the early morning or afternoon, depending on which tour you choose. There you’ll board a bus destined for the Teotihuacan Pyramids.

On the morning tour, you’ll be one of the first to enter the archaeological site. On either morning or afternoon tour, a private archaeologist will expand on the pre-Mayan history of highlights such as the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and Avenue of the Dead.

Ascend to the summit of the Sun Pyramid and Moon Pyramid for panoramic views of the site before returning to the coach to travel to an obsidian workshop, where you’ll interact with a local family and sample liqueurs made from cacti.

Stop for a Mexican food (own expense) before returning to the central meeting point in Mexico City.

Great tour with knowledgeable staff

Perfect way to see the pyramids! The early morning start is 100% worth it to see this beautifully preserved archaeological site basically deserted. The only other people we saw were park staff or other very small tour groups. Our tour guide Roberto was knowledgeable, friendly...More

The pyramids were amazing, but the tours could use abit of improvement

I loved the pyramids and the whole visit there, but I do have a few complains about the tour company. Our guide himself was great and knowledgeable, so no complains about him either. The problems I had with the tour was that: 1. The email...More

Excellent tour with interesting people.

I booked this last-minute after spending a half-day at the Museum of Anthropology and knowing I couldn't leave without visiting the pyramids. Luckily, I had a free Monday on my stay before flying out Tuesday AM. Booking online through TripAdvisor was easy and I received...More

Pyramids with tourists trap shopping

I went the end of May - tour itself fine with a punctual & humorous staff (Roberto/Gabriel). This was a large group w/equal amounts of English/Spainish participants. Bus/transport accommodations fine & tour itself good. Groups split up based on English/Spanish preference. What I didn’t appreciate...More

Greetings, I attended the early morning tour and arrived back to hotel at 3:30pm. I do not know if the afternoon tour is the same. I would ask the tour operator.

Perhaps you could leave them with your tour company in the car, ask them, if that’s not an option, I don’t remember seeing lockers at the park.
