Many sights to see and Passionate guides
Adrian, our tour guide was wonderful! He had great enthusiasm and energy. The driver was very good too. And the Tequila master was very funny, passionate and engaging. The lunch, though not included and quite pricey was delicious and we had the place to ourselves as a group. The tour seemed a little long though and it should have mentioned to bring a snack as well. All in all we were very happy!

Our guide Omar kept everyone fully engaged throughout the day as we took a welcome break from the beach culture of Puerto Valletta for one day for a trip into the mountains. The visits to the tequila shop, coffee producer and opal jeweller were worth the stops even if the balance between informative visits and delivering them with potential customers was fine. Stopping at the bridge on the way back at the request of the group was appreciated- even if there was no opportunities to sell anything to us. Recommended.

          Too long
It was long. The operator put up on a sprinter van where the a/c couldn’t cool down the rear area, despite being a mild day. The road is windy and one of the guests got car sick. The tour operator stopped at several vendor (tequila distillery, jeweler, coffee roaster) while interesting it did seem like a sales pitch at each stop. We were traveling with my elder parents and the in-and-out of the van was tough. Our tour guide, Omar was informative and fun. The tour best suited for folks between 50 - 70, any younger and you will be bored, and in the older and accessibility, becomes an issue.

Great trip. Nice to get out of town and see the country
Great trip. Guide, Ramon, was really good. San Sebastian is definitely worth seeing. Bus ride isn't bad. Even liked the tequila tasting.

          Beautiful Botanical Gardens
Love this Botanical Gardens, great photo ops and a lot of hiking trails and some museum exhibits displayed here and there. Flowering plants, cacti/succulents, orchids, agricultural plants some sculptures and even a restaurant and nice gift shoppe with many different kinds of chocolate bars. Not a difficult walk. Places for romantic picture taking for couples. You won't get lost. The hiking trails is through the tropical forest. The tequila distillery has many flavors of tequila to try. The fish and seafood restaurant is located there. It's best to have a private visit with the owner afterwards on the agave farming and tequila making . Enjoyable Botanical Gardens can be reached by county bus.

          Long trip on bumpy bus
Transportation terrible.Bus old, windows were rattling, view from windows were somewhat obstructed because tinting was peeling and bubbly. It was raining and bus was leaking through windows. Should have taken smaller vans and less rattling on road. Tour guide Jorge was excellent! But. Because of length of trip in such an uncomfortable vehicle, it detracted from our enjoyment

          Countryside Jalisco
We booked with grey line tours . Hector was a very informative guide and Jose was an excellent driver! Hector relayed so many childhood stories about the area that is was easy to fall in love with this place. As we travelled from our hotel , Hector talked about the economy and pointed out the US Navel ship in the marina . As we quickly turned north out of PV , the countryside was a vast difference from the shops of PV. Roadside food stands selling fruits and clothes were dotted along the winding road . First stop after the “new bridge” was a tequila farm . Educating us on the family dynamics of a tequila distillery . Up the winding road Jose’s skills were again proven!!!! Hector pointed out variety of trees and the agave fields , telling us where his family would often stop on Sunday drives to San Sebastián ! Next was a coffee plantation in the heart of San Sebastián , the aromas !!! A wonderful lunch was supplied with options of beverages and deserts. More history was given and time for some walking around the town . It was a little cooler up here in the mountains so a little cafe was a welcome sight ! This tour was amazing and I learned a lot !

          Discovery Taco Tour
This is one of the best tours I've ever taken. So much fun. And the tacos were so good. Eric and Adrian provided lots of information but best of all they were very entertaining. Fun stories. Very personable. I highly recommend this tour.

Fabulous Discovery Taco Tour in Puerto Vallarta
We visited 4 local, non-touristy, neighborhood Puerto Vallarta restaurants to eat a variety of delicious tacos & drinks. Our superb guides, Eric & Adrien, were fun & informative. Highly recommend doing this tour with these two guides!

Take an Uber Instead of this Supposed Tour
The day trip to San Pancho and Sayulita was disappointing. Although the towns are interesting, instead of being a tour, it was basically a ride in an old, cramped van with weak air conditioning. Although the tour guide was a nice man, he only shared a few facts about the towns. We only had 20 to 30 minutes in San Pancho which wasn’t nearly enough. Also, I thought we’d be picked up at our hotel. Instead we had to walk to a central meeting place in The Romantic Zone. I wish we had taken an Uber instead of this supposed tour.

          A Great Day!
We just came back from our full day tour, traveling up the mountain to San Sebastián. Our Tour guide/ driver, Eric, was amazing! He drove expertly, and safely all day, while he gave us a multitude of local and historical information. We enjoyed a stop at a bakery, for delicious coffee and pastries. ( not included in tour price) Then travelled on to San Sebastián, where we toured this quant , 420 year old, historic town. In town we visited a jewelry store, the beautiful San Sebastián church, a coffee plantation, and craft market ( we bought a lovely table runner, that had been woven right there), We ended our visit to the town with a lovely lunch ( included). It was juice, tortillas, molé chicken, beans, rice and a Mexican meat dish. We then, carried on down the mountain to the “ tequila factory “, where we learned about the tequila making process from Alex, who then gave us tastes of the excellent tequila his family makes to be sold, exclusively, at this factory. Sebastián, the photographer, came along, taking many great photos. All in all, it was a great day, made excellent by Eric, with lots to do and see.

          SAN Sebastián Full Day Tour
What a fabulous day with our very informative and genuinely kind tour guide Eric! He taught us so much about the area - history, vegetation (who knew there were so many kinds of fruit trees and agave plants!) local people, etc. After a winding and climbing drive up the mountains (take Gravol if you are at all prone to motion sickness) we stopped at a bakery and purchased pastries and coffee (not included) in a very quaint setting. Next we stopped at a jewelry/silver/opal store. Then we drove another 30 minutes to the town of San Sebastián where Eric walked us through and taught us so much about the history. We visited a coffee plantation and sampled the coffee, visited the church and many other sites. Free time was given for wandering and shopping - prices are more expensive than Puerto Vallarta flee markets. Lunch (included) was an authentic Mexican meal - cheese tortilla, refried beans, rice, chicken molee, beef dish, and warm tortilla shells. On the way home we stopped at a tequila factory and learned how agave plants are turned into the liquor. Of course there is a shop to purchase the many flavours (quite expensive). A fantastic full day!!

Don't Miss this Excellent and Authentic Taco Tour
The taco tour, led by Erik, was amazing and included stops at four off the beaten path taco stands. The variety of tacos was outstanding and delicious. Erik shared his local knowledge at each stop as well as in the comfortable, air conditioned van. Our tour only had 7 guests and was the perfect size to get to know each other and have fun. In addition to the four taco stops, the tour included a refreshing ice cream stop, a tortilla factory, and some sights and sounds around bustling Mexican town. If you want to eat where the locals eat then this is the tour for you. At the last stop the icing on the cake was a tequila drink served in a beautiful souvenir clay mug. 100% recommend! It will be a highlight of your trip to PV. And one piece of advice, skip breakfast...this tour has lots of food.

First we were told we will be in a small van to keep the group intimate for easy communication, then we were all herded into a huge bus. The tour guide have extensive outlines in Spanish and short talks in very broken English that was difficult to understand. The downtown walk was pleasant and the church beautiful to behold. Then the bus couldn’t meet us due to traffic issues and we had to walk 20min to the next stop for “shopping”. This was a typical tourist trap jewelry store with endless busses dropping off tourists to do some jewelry shopping. This was NOT on our itinerary and if it was, I would not have picked this tour! Then we were off to the tequila factory at the end of a very long windy coastal road. But first we had to visit a coffee “factory” which was indeed another tourist trap...this time a place with a small roaster, a brief talk and taste and then shopping for useless souvenirs, which was the main reason why we were there. The coffee side of the business was a trick to get tour bus us to stop there. Again, this is not on the itinerary. Well, then off to taste some tequila. This factory is situated on a very bumpy dirt road against a hill. We were herded into a restaurant to buy food options on display which was then cooked while we were taking in the tequila factory. The restaurant is another overpriced tourist trap where you’re charged M$50 for a small bottle of water. The tequila side of the tour was real, short and interesting and the tasting was good.

After dropping passangers at the Vidanta on our way back from the city tour, our driver, Anthony, on the request of our tour guide Thomas, backed up on the highway. Cars were honking like crazy at our mini-van. The driver, Anthony, back up until he reached the left turned exit for our hotel, Sea Garden. Then he had to cut the uncoming left lane to exit. We were scared! All of that not to go further on the highway to exit at proper exit. We made a complain at our hotel guide,Sea garden.

Carlos was the best. We didn’t want to do anything extravagant or heavy so we decided on a City Tour and for the price it was AWESOME! To top it off we ended with a Tequila Tasting which was so unexpected. Highly recommend this tour.

Rather than repeat what has already been written, please allow me to refer to the review on Jan 16, 2021 by rbrow018. I took the identical trip with Jorge and Carlos. The main difference is that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Obviously the pandemic has taken a viscous roll, so I understand why several sales stops were made to support the survivors. None seemed too lengthy or obtrusive.

Lunch at the tequila distillery was reasonably priced considering the quality of fresh seafood offered. They were happy to reduce my meal since I was the only single among several couples. I was invited to join one of the couples who had ordered the same dish. It was obvious they had been completely fair - a half portion for half the price. And the food was delicious; better than at Vidanta and less than half the price!

The entire tour was a pleasant surprise, especially the tour guide Jorge. His personal and private quest is to save Macaws from the brink of extinction. From three birds to a healthy flock of sixty or more. People like him, who do good deeds without fame or fortune are rare jewels (better than at the silver shop)!

I hope you select this tour and are as delighted as I was.

The tour I was on was nothing but visiting stores - a chocolate store, a silver/jewelry store, a leather product store, and a tequila factory. The tequila tasting was great and the guide was informative and fun and gave us good pours too. But visiting the other stores were quite unnecessary and cost a lot of time. They were NOT city highlights. During the Malecon Art walk, we only got to see the Puerto Vallarta city sign and the Tridon y Nereita Statue (3rd to the last statue from north to south) but there were 12 statues that we could have seen instead of visiting those stores. We were walking around looking for our bus A LOT and it was hot out (time spent for nothing). The tour guide was not good at explaining the things we saw. The food at the tequila tasting place had high markups, but we had no other options because it was in the middle of nowhere (more south than Barcelo Puerto Vallarta resort). Lastly, we didn't get to visit the Los Muertos Pier which should have been one of the city highlights.
I highly recommend you take a uber to Malecon Puerto Vallarta and walk around in the old town/Viejo Vallarta yourself.
This tour was not worth it. I had never been on a worse tour!

We took the all-day city trip to include a coffee roasting plant and tequila tasting at a mountain hacienda. This was a relatively fast paced tour (at about $23 per person) on a comfortable bus. The city portion might have felt rushed, but it gave you the opportunity to see places you'd come back to by Uber/Lyft/Taxi. The hacienda offered a selection of 4 different lunch options (mix of fish, pork, lamb, beef) where you could get beer or hard drinks to go with it. The tour guide was a local who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The driver was both safe and courteous. Total trip time was approximately 9 hours from initial pick-up. Recommend taking bottled water and snacks for the bus.

The tour was informative and we got to see the city and mountain area of Puerto Vallarta. Our guide Thomas and photographer Ramon were awesome. Our first stop was by the beach where the Puerto Vallarta sign is located then we walked over to a nice picturesque church. After that we headed over to a jewelry shop and a leather shop. The two shops provided beverages and restrooms. We headed up the mountain to a coffee farm and got to taste their coffee. I bought a bag of strong espresso coffee. Then we headed over to a tequila factory where we tasted a flight of different tequilas and how it is made. I bought a bottle of the creamy tequila to enjoy with my coffee. The down turn of the tour was the restaurant located by the tequila factory. The food and drinks was subpar and they charged a lot for the mediocre dishes. It is best to have pesos or use a card during this excursion because they charged more for the exchange rate to the American dollar. Overall, I would suggest this excursion just skipped the restaurant and eat a full breakfast before going and just have a beer at the restaurant.

We had a great day with Pablo our guide. (I am not sure this is the right company, it's the one with the neon orange shirts). We learned a bunch and enjoyed the company. Just know that the places they take you to shop are overpriced for Mexico- do your shopping in Rio Cuale market on your own.
The presentation at the Tequila distillery was the highlight - the presentation was very entertaining and the Tequila was great (but kinda spendy). We still ended up with two bottles of the pecan liquor because OMG! So good!

I liked it and disliked it. It took about an hour to start the tour after being pickup. They pick you up at your hotel and take you back to the Marina where you get into a nicer van with A/C, thank goodness, and then you leave without doing a tour of the Marina. Huh? It quickly becomes too much of a sales tour at a leather shop, jewellery shop, and organic coffee roaster. We did like the tour guide, he was pleasant and engaging with everyone. But he is part of the sales program. We enjoyed the church tour, saw a few statues on the Malecon and then headed out of town to the coffee roaster and then the Tequila Ranch which was a good long drive past Boca de Tomalan. I liked the tequila making explanation with a fun taste testing of a variety of types. It was a definitely a tasting to catch a buzz. Then a late lunch was available for $660- $1000 peso for two. Too expensive for my liking, but we were very hungry, thankfully the food was good. The tour started at 9ish and lasted until 4ish. It's an inexpensive tour for $29 USD, but the goal is to upsell your pants off, so take it or leave it. I would have preferred to leave it if I knew better.

Terrible - you stop for 10-15 minutes at a leather shop, candy shop, tequila tasting, opal shop, church and then they take you out to a restaurant that is way too expensive. They must be getting kickbacks from the places we visited. Oh and you don’t have any option for lunch. Where they take you is the only place available. We spent more time on the bus than anything else. We can’t get this time back and it’s a very poor representation of what downtown Puerto Vallarta has to offer!
