- MichaelT270 contributionsTour of colonial towns in Sinaloa11-18-2024 A week ago, we booked a personalized van excursion directly through ‘Mazatlan Van Tours’. Our driver/guide JeanCarlo Jimenez Zamora, picked us up at the Mazatlan cruise port. We told him that we were most interested to see rural colonial towns outside of Mazatlan city. He gave us a few options and then off we drove. First JeanCarlo drove us out to La Noria, Sinaloa, Mexico and we had the opportunity to walk through the beautiful Church of San Antonio de Padua La Noria. Next, we drove to the Los Osuna Blue Agave distillery (mezcal vinata) where we toured the Blue Agave fields, distillery and tasted several Blue Agave Blanco, Reposado, Añejo spirits. We also sampled Los Osuna’s Agave Vanilla, Cinnamon, and Coconut naturally flavored liqueurs. We then drove north, through the Arco “Bienvenidos a El Quelite” and into the picturesque streets of El Quelite. Here we enjoyed a delicious regional lunch at the quaint Restaurante El Mesón de Los Laureanos. After lunch, it was time for JeanCarlo to drive us back to Mazatlan to return us to our cruise ship. We all enjoyed this excellent tour! JeanCarlo was so nice, professional, and super knowledgeable. We rate this tour 5 out of 5.Written 26 November 2024

- fsudelta0 contributionsMazatlan City TourWe did the tour without lunch. Booking the tour was really easy. Even though my hotel wasn’t listed, I was able to put the hotel name and address in. When I called the number to confirm my pickup location, they were pleasant and accommodating. Ricky arrived on time and was a great driver and tour guide. The tour was very informational and he took us to several picturesque points for photos. I would recommend this tour.Written 24 November 2024

- Christine R0 contributionsEasy way to see Mazatlan! We booked this tour as an excursion from our cruise ship. Meeting instructions were clear and the desk was easy to find in the cruise ship terminal. We were the only people on the excursion so got lots of time to learn about the different areas of the city. The bikes were easy to operate and comfortable to ride. We saw all the highlights including El Faro, the Malecon, the incredible cliff divers, the Cathedral and some time off our bikes wandering through the busy market. Our guide spent a lot of time explaining about life in Mazatlan. Highly recommend this tour as traffic can be busy and we were able to travel through side streets with ease!Written 9 November 2024

Humberto was excellent! Very friendly and pleasant, and does a good job explaining and describing things. Made all of us laugh quite a few times. He even tried to help us get baseball game tickets!Written 24 October 2024
- Trail6691040 contributionsfantastic!!Our 15 family members did a van tour with Jorge Escudero (van #71) from the Carnival port in Mazatlan, Mexico Where we had a previous tour with Jorge about 6 months prior and had totally enjoyed our tour the 1st time and had an even BETTER time this time for our new family members who had never been to mazatlan. The credit goes to Jorge who totally took us exactly the right places just by instinct. Jorge also gave us a discount for using his services twice. WE SO Appreciated it in every way...our family would not have had the time to figure out where to go. Jorge took us to an amazing beach and lunch hotel, and then to Michaels downtown and tour around everywhere else several stops as well. We remain grateful for such a great guide in Jorge and look forward to going with him again and everyone should do the same, you will not be disappointed!!! Thank you SO much Jorge Escudero!!Written 21 October 2024
- leonien7910 contributionsFamily-Friendly Excursion in Mazatlán, MexicoJose Velarde (Van #46) was extremely helpful and nice during the tour trip to Mazatlán. He made sure my family members and I were cool, relaxed, and hydrated (because the weather was really hot during September). My family and I were able to visit and explore around the area. We took many photos of the area he showed us, had many fruits/food there, and also took us to the Basilica Cathedral of Mazatlán. The language barrier was not difficult whatsoever. I was able to learn and practice my Spanish with Jose and he could learn some Vietnamese words and practice his English with us too! I highly recommend it, they sure know how to make a trip fun in Mazatlán, Mexico! Thank you, Jose Velarde!Written 20 October 2024
- V6144GKelizabethd0 contributionsLoved MazatlanWe didn’t book an excursion ahead of time and found Mazatlan van tours after we got off the cruise ship..took a bit to get more people for the van since it was only me and hubby…Fernando helped us initially and gave us a sticker so that the other tour operators weren’t so pushy while we looked around and waited for more people to join the tour… 14 passenger van and we ended up with 10 people. My husband sat in the front with our tour guide ‘Al’ and it was cool because it almost became like it was someone talking about the sights as if they were talking to a friend…we saw the different statues heard some of the names/history, the seal of Mazatlan, stopped at the Cathedral and history was given about the Star of David on a Catholic Church, etc., time was given for shopping, we then went to the Golden Zone where you could go and shop, eat, hang on the beach etc..beach access and restrooms were free you had to pay for food/drinks on your own…there were restaurants at the hotels and also nearby…we agreed on times as a group for each stop we made and met back at the van. Al was careful not to leave anyone as there were 4 different groups of people between all of us…there were waters and an ice chest onboard..and that was the only small complaint was there were only 8 water bottles for the entire group for the whole day…the website states waters and soda provided…so maybe double check that before you go… I was not going to mark down a star for something so small…we bought more at an XOXO which is like a 7 eleven. That wasn’t enough for me to mark down the tour because we had a good day, it was fun and informative..we were well taken care of got back to port on time etc…especially since this was not reserved ahead of time we were very happy with how everything turned out!! so thanks ‘Al’ SalamanWritten 20 October 2024

So disappointing. The city tour was fine, but Stone Island was a waste of money on this tour. When we arrived at Stone Island our tour group was instructed to sit under a patio with a muddy floor. You could not see the ocean because of all the vendors with carts stationed between our area and the water. There were a few lounge chairs with umbrellas but our tour wasn’t allowed to sit there. The food was not authentic to the area and poor quality. (chicken strips, etc) The “open bar” was a table with premixed cheap generic booze and beer. There was a restaurant and fully stocked bar at the restaurant where we were at - but their food and drink was not included- we ended up going to that bar and payed for a few beers. We ran into few cruise ship guests and found out the water Taxi from the close by port was only $5! And you could go anywhere on the beach with lots of food and drink options.

Well they picked up a large group of us at the docks. We waited for 30 minutes for a taxi to the port for a boat tour to the island. The tour was a trip around to big rocks they referred to as bird poop island. This island is covered in bird poop and is white. At first it was kind of funny but then took us to the pebble island which happens to be right behind the boat we got off 2 hours before this. Then we carted to the beach on a tractor where we were got the lunch. Claimed it was chicken but it looked like it might have been a seagull, all the through lunch we harassed by people selling stuff. After dinner they had a few activities but it was not worth the time. The beach was not nice it smelled like bird poop and kind of reckless. They had chairs on the beach if you wanted to rent the chairs they were not part of the package. It was a waste of a day. Then we had to get a tractor ride a boat ride and another taxi back to the cruise port where we had another taxi to the boat.. waste of a day… they walked around with a tip jar persons to person and put you on the spot for extra tips. It was the worst cruise excursion we have taken… We have been on over 60 through the years and this was the worst one we have ever done.

Stone Island or Isla De La Pierda was a great excursion experience coming off a cruise. Mazatlan tour Van was very easy to contact and locate coming off the boat. They took us on a little tour around town before our catamaran was ready then we went to the island wich had really nice beaches, great food, fun activities and an open bar. Our tour guide was named Enrique who did a great job of informing us on everything and he stuck around the whole time till we were ready to leave. Really l loved this excursion experience and would definitely do it again.

This was a perfect excursion for our day in Mazatlan. We were picked up with others from our cruise ship and driven to another port where we boarded a boat and taken across to Stone Island. Once we got to the island, we were taken by van to the restaurant. We were shown to a table and lounge chairs and given instructions for our time there.
We got a ticket to order lunch and our tickets for the events we chose to do. Once our time was up, we were taken by van to the dock to take the boat back to the main land. Everyone had a blast! The food was good and the beach was beautiful! 🙂

Great day. The lunch was good and many choices. Drinks were tasty and flowing freely. The banana boat ride was fun, no real chance of falling off. Nice day to lounge in a chair, soak in the ocean, and relax.

For a wonderful relaxing and fun day try Stone Island beach. The beach is lined with restaurants and activities all along the beach. I even had a massage right on the beach! The food was good and the people very kind and friendly. We ate at Lety's and they had the best Pinado (pineapple/coconut drink). Definitely a must visit.

Absolutely loved Stone Island and everything associated with our visit. JeanCarlo & Augustine were amazing:professional, social & accommodating to all our needs. Arriving at the desk, the tour was organized, the van & tender to the island was efficient answering any questions with clear explanations. Wonderful lunch and open bar with Banana boat ride terrific. JeanCarlo even swung by the Cathedral for me in our way back to port! The WHOLE day was One of the highlights of our trip.

The beach was extremely overcrowded. No lounges were included in the price of the package. Had to wait 30 min for the 3 min horseback ride. Long waits for the ride from the ferry to the beach. Maybe the experience would have been better on a day when there are no cruise ships docking.

The Carnival Panorama now says arrive in port at 9:30 am and depart at 6 pm. There are 5 of us but I do not think we will be off ship in time. Can you be specific on pickup time? it seems the ship has an engine issue and will be running slower.
There will be 14 of us on this same cruise Feb 5th 2022 and we want to do it then also. This was a test for the larger group.
