Your guide will pick you up between 8am and 10:30am from your accommodations in San Juan. Travel comfortably in a 14 passenger van to the rainforest (approximately a 30-40 minute drive). Along the way you will make a brief stop for snacks (at own expense). Your first stop at the rainforest is the El Portal Visitor Center where you will have an opportunity to purchase souvenirs and receive additional information about the area. Back to the van and travel up the mountain to 2000 ft. above sea level, an easy 15-20 minute drive from the visitor center. Next you will begin your nature walk down to the waterfall. This trail is 1 mile down and 1 mile up. Once you arrive at the waterfall, you will have time to go in and under a refreshing waterfall. Once you are back at the van, you will make a couple additional stops for photo opportunities. The last stop is at an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant (own expense) to enjoy a late lunch at approximately 3-4pm. Depart the restaurant and relax on your 45-55 minute drive back to San Juan, arriving at your accommodation between 5:30pm and 7pm.

Jerrys Adventures

Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in September of this year, closing some of our most beautiful and unique places to visit but adding and opening up others. The rainforest will be closed for the months going forward. However, I will be offering another type of an Adventure to replace the rainforest, it is a Hike to an Amazing Hidden Waterfall.
Your 8 hour, small group tour will take you to the El Yunque Rainforest. Learn about the endemic, native and exotic plants and animals of Puerto Rico. Continue the tour by walking to one of the 5 waterfalls. Your next stop will be at a local restaurant to enjoy the local cuisine (at own expense).  After lunch, return to San Juan via air-conditioned transportation.

Great hike!

We loved our hike with Jerry, Gabriel and their 4-legged friends. The trail was slightly rugged. No rails and no paved paths here. Over and under fallen trees, climbing rocks, and walking through streams, this was the best hike I have been on. The waterfall...More

Hi! It honestly would depend on the weather. The trail can get a little slippery in the rain but as long as they are tough they could make it happen regardless, I’m sure! It’s a ton of fun so I hope you consider it. Enjoy!
