      Must see.
Amazing tour with a great tasting in the middle of thousends of barrels of aging rum. Must see tour. The historic exhibition is better than the one in the historic museum in Santo Domingo.

Ron Barcelo Distillery Tour and tasting - A great way to find your ideal Rum.
We made a last minute booking on the day by calling the Distillery and they were very helpful in accomodating us. When we arrived we were cleared through security and greeted by Juan Carlos who have us a private tour of the facilities including the rum storage warehouses, distillery and bottling plant and then the museum showing the history of Ron Barcelo Juan Carlos was very friendly, informative and helpful, answering all our questions and then took us for the rum tasting. We got to sample a variety of the rums they produce, including the premium Imperial range which enabled us to appreciate the difference between each age and type. This was exactly what we needed to help us select the Rum we wanted to purchase. Only downside is that the distillery is a little hard to find and get to, being tucked away in the countryside in the middle of the came fields from where they get the sugar cane to make the rum.

      Amazing and Authentic
Thank you to Luis, our guide who made this experience fun and informative. He really knows all the details about these rums. A truly immersive experience that teaches you how to open your palate and mind to really taste the smoothness of these premium sugar cane treasures. Ron Barceló should know they are in good hands with Luis there. Totally recommended, PS: drink the cocktail at the end, it is delicious. Thanks Isa (DR) and Alessandro ( Italy)

      Great Rum Tour
The tour was very informative, and we toured at our own pace. Our tour guide, John, was extremely helpful and very willing to answer questions. The rum tasting was quite nice and the prices for bottles at the end were very reasonable. Definitely would recommend this tour.

Rum lovers will love this trip
A great way to spend a few hours learning about our favourite rum! Guide was great, spoke English very well. Rum in the store was a lot less than at the resort or airport.

One of the more interesting excursions to try in Dominican Republic
We have been here twice and last time we did the "Imperial Experience" with some very good friends. Really professional, really interesting, a trip we would recommend everyone to take. To be able to see the whole process from the sugar cane fields to the bottles being filled, with the aging in the barrels, the introduction to rum tasting, learning to see the colors, the smell and the taste of the premium rums from Barceló, the museum with old artifacts and last but not least, our super friendly and cool guide, Luis de los Santos, is something you shouldn't miss when coming to Dominican Republic!

Good tour, good rum prices in the shop
I was in San Pedro de Macoris to see baseball games, and I quite enjoyed my side trip to see how rum is made at Centro Historico Ron Barcelo. My guide, Heusebio, presented the history of the factory in great detail, answered all questions I had, and provided a great tasting of the various rums made by Barcelo. In addition, the prices in the shop were really good, and I bought some fine rum to take home to the USA.

Very Interesting Tour - Well Worth the Time
I recently took the tour of Centro Historico Ron Barcelo and enjoyed it tremendously. Heusebio was our tour guide, and he did an excellent job of providing insights about Ron Barcelo's history and the rum-making process. Even though I don't drink much, I still found this very interesting. For anyone who happens to be in or near the town of San Pedro de Macoris, I'd recommend this tour. It's a good way to spend part of a morning or afternoon.

      Private Tasting Tour
Awesome experience! One of the best tours we did in DR. We had a private tour with Hendrix he is very knowledgeable & passionate about all things rum. We had never had a rum tasting- only in mixed drinks! Hendricks taught us the art of rum & his adjectives in explaining the feelings & tastes in your mouth are spot on! We ended up leaving with multiple bottles to take home that are only sold in the DR. Love the fact that Ron Barcelona is also eco-friendly.

      A must go!
Incredible experience. Go for the Imperial tour. We got Hendrix as our guide and he gave us a true master class about the rum’s history, making process and tasting. They also have the most down to earth gift shop ever!!! Prices are lower than everywhere else in the country. 6 stars for this place.

The tour was breathtaking. This is a must see for everyone who visits our country and for locals too. To me it was like to take a trip to my roots, being from Dominican Republic and see those iconic commercials from the 90's, definitely made me cry. Our tour was very informative, with lots of history, and we were treated like royalty. Special thanks to Mrs. Gissel Henriquez, and our amazing guide Sergio!!!. Definitely a 100% recommended.

My girlfriend and I recently toured the entire grounds from start to finish. Our tour guide was Sergio whose knowledge was so insightful, it was like a history book come to life! You’ll be exposed to the family history, see and learn about the first tools used to turn sugarcane into rum, the process used to age the barrels and how they are actually sealed, the assembly line of the factory, and closing with a tasting!

Completed this tour in mid-May 2023. As an English-only speaker I was worried that the tour would be in Spanish and then have to be translated through friends making the experience less than optimal for me and my friends. However, Jean-Carlos (our tour guide) spoke a few languages and made the experience very enjoyable. The tour itself was wonderful as they took us through the entire process of aging the rum to bottling and packing. We got the history of the family and nuances to how and why they did certain things in their process. Was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to all who can get out to the factory.

We booked out trip thru Sandro Moreno our driver, who was fantastic. We enjoyed the tour very much. Our guide was Sergio who explained the process to us and was a fantastic guide. We had a delicious mixed drink while going through the museum. We tasted 5 rums at the end. The rums for sale had great pricing. This was one of the best rum tours I've ever taken. They explained the process and you got to see the plant and bottling as well as quality control. Thanks Sergio for the great tour.

We were accommodated by Sergio over the phone for a last minute booking. At reception, Juan Carlos gave us a personal guided and well informed tour around their processes and warehouses. We visited the museum for a film with a delicious rum cocktail. His English is great - much better than our Spanish. Generous rum tastings at the bar ended the tour in style. The different rums are superb to try. The new Porto rum is incredible - a must try!
The shop was well stocked and cheaper than the supermarkets, so get yours there! Needless to say we bought quite a few bottles to take home.
A wonderful trip with a great host. Thank you for being so welcoming 😀

I've been to several rum factories in the DR and outside, but this has been the best tour I ever got. Juan Miguel is extremely knowledgable, there is not one question in his area he was not able to answer. Besides that, he makes the tour fun and enjoyable. Thank you so much for this experience!
