About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Sara S0 contributionscancelledI've had this trip booked in for months, a few days before my son and I are meant to go, the trip is cancelled. Absolutely gutted.Written 25 October 2019
- Katzpotato0 contributionsGreat hospitality from the Tourleaders. We had 3 tours with Forest bus 3 days in a row and all the Tour leaders as well as the Drivers were very nice and hospitable. Thank you so much, Yuri San, Yuki San, and Yugi San for being a nice companion during our family full day tour. We so much recommend this company for anyone visiting Tokyo who wish to visit Mt. Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi, Gotemba, Edo wonderland and other areas.Written 1 July 2019
- Gillian H0 contributionsA lot to seeWalked around the entire place, needless to say there was a lot to see and many malls as well as Teamlab, that was probably the best thing to do in that area.Written 4 June 2019
- kagero430 contributionsGreat but....DO NOT go on a stat holiday via a bus tour, or you will wind up literally bumper-to-bumper for a gruelling 7 hours from Tokyo. Not a word of a lie. Highway pitstops are also jam-packed! There is only one major highway betwee Tokyo and Mt Fuji! Also watch the weather. We did get lucky but sometimes its cloudy.Written 4 June 2019
- amirhshah0 contributionsShubasakura Festival visit was really goodWe are from the US and were visiting Tokyo. We were unsure of how to plan a trip to Mount Fuji. We found this trip and would highly recommend to international visitors. Booking was easy online with a quick confirmation. The operator was flexible with picking us up from the Tokyo Marriott even though it was not one of the standard pickup points. Yuki was our tour guide and he was prompt in arriving to pick us up on the day of the trip and had a clear board with our names so it was easy to see in in the hotel lobby. He tools us in a nice clean mini van to the meeting point and then we traveling in a comfortable bus with a small group(6 people) to Mount Fuji. There was a quick rest stop and the ride was smooth. We were also given some prepared notes about the festival and other hits. Yuri was so kind, polite and accommodating. He even gave us some hints on other tourist sighting seeing options for us to explore. The logistics were simple and on time with regards to stopping and visiting sites and the operator even took some family photos of us. We got back to Tokyo a bit ahead of time. There is no doubt in my mind this was the best option if you want to visit Mount Fuji.Written 20 May 2019
- Malcolmlee20080 contributionsPersonalized and Friendly - As close to Free n Easy as it getsWe are a family of 5 with 3 kids from age 2 to 10 and we spent a day with our Tour Guide Tsukino and driver Tom on a trip to view Mount Fuji as well as pick strawberries and it was an extremely relaxing and wonderful day. We were glad to have chosen them for the tour and we are certain that we will book them again on our next trip to Tokyo.Written 25 March 2019
- Odyssey3012940 contributionsHighly recommend! Breathtakingly beautiful scenery!I enjoyed every moment of the tour. My Guide Tsukino was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble, she went out of her way to make sure I had a wonderful experience, one I will definitely never forget. I would definitely recommend this day trip, it was worth every penny! I also have gained a new friend!Written 20 March 2019
- showersingerr0 contributionsFamily Managed Great serving air transport! We were with 7 adult and 2 children with a gazzilion luggage - total 13 with mostly large luggages. It was confusing as to which transport we had to use and come up with their direct air transfer from our airbnb near shinjuku to haneda. They suggested the 18 bus mini bus and based on our calculation this is the most cheapest and quickest way compared to any transportation mode. We were very much satisfied. They came on time and the vehicle and driver were clean and presentable! We also love the fact that we came in direct contact with the family who owned it not those customer services from big tourist company. The best bonus, they speak really good English so I would assume touring around with them will be a great option next time. Recommended!Written 26 June 2018
- geovig0 contributionsGreat experience !! Really trustworthy and Greatly Customer orientedWe were a group of 18 people with 4 infants booked the Forest bus for our day trips in Tokyo and Lake Kawaguchiko for 6 Days. Since we were a big group, Forest bus team were kind enough to book the restaurants for us. Their Coach Captan Tom and all their Assistants are really helpful and very much Customer oriented. Thanks to all their team and special Thanks to YaleWritten 20 December 2017
- phoenixmemphis0 contributionsSo much better than joining big bus tour groups! This is an independent, family run tour company and it's a nice alternative to big name bus tour business in Tokyo (it also pick you up directly from your accommodation -- no need to go to Shinjuku). We booked the Mt Fuji and grape picking tour with a stop at Lake Kawaguchi -- and we are so grateful to Yae and Tom for pushing through with the tour even though we were the only participants -- essentially making it a private tour for the same price. Going to see Mt Fuji in the summer is not ideal since you are guaranteed NOT to see it, and that is why it was a great idea to combine it with grape picking -- which was absolutely amazing. Tom even had a nice lunch picnic set up by the lake with the view of the clouded Mt Fuji!Written 15 September 2017
- SongnDance0 contributionsForest Bus Tokyo - OUTSTANDING for our Group Tour!!Our Group of 13 used Forest Bus Tokyo three times during our 3-day layover in Tokyo. This company is FABULOUS!! I contacted Yae over a year ago to make arrangements. She was patient with me and the fluent English communication was invaluable! I was VERY worried about this, because I paid the entire tour in advance via Paypal to avoid carrying around large amounts of cash. I had nothing to fear, however. Our guide, EMIKO (ask her her!!!) was the consummate Tokyo guide. She was remarkably prepared with visual aids, maps, samples to pass around the bus, stories and anecdotes about everyday life in Tokyo., She completely charmed and impressed every member of our (highly critical) group of women. I cannot commend her enough. Our driver Tom, also spoke English and was adept at smoothly maneuvering the crowded Tokyo roads. We saw so much in one day! Loved viewing the sumo practice at Areshio Beya (sp?). I'm typing this quickly as ForestBus will arrive shortly to take us back to the airport - but I didn't want to leave Tokyo without writing this review as Yae and Emiko are responsible for our group's wonderful, spectacular, best-ever layover! THANK YOU!!Written 21 April 2017
- Abigail V0 contributionsYae is very friendly and accomodating! The tour was very nice we got to see Mt. Fuji clearly, they picked us up infront of our hotel, and Ye was very friendly and easy to talk to. Highly recommended!Written 6 April 2017
- ReyhanaS0 contributionsReliable and efficient - Lake Kawaguchi and Fujiten Ski ResortI only decided to go for a Mount Fuji tour 3 days before the actual day. Lucky for us, we found Countryside Day Tour, which had available space for my family of 4. Communicating with Yae over the e-mail was fantastic due to prompt replies and her efficiency. I would also like to mention that the price of the tour is the best as compared to other tour groups! Tour guide Yuki and Aoki picked us from our hotel at 8.30am as promised. We hopped on the tour van and started making our way to Lake Kawaguchi, then Fujiten Ski Resort. I can't emphasise enough how helpful our tour guides are. They ensured that our comfort and safety are accounted for. Also, our tour guides were kind enough to offer us and take pictures for our family. Thank you for making my visit to Japan a fruitful one. This tour is highly recommended!Written 8 January 2017
- Weitinglow0 contributionsTour was excellent !Yae-San allowed us to pay by cash on the actual tour itself as we had decided to go for the ski tour at the last moment. Her service was great, she guided us to lake kawaguchi and fujiten snow resort. Highly recommended for people who wants to go for skiing or snow boardingWritten 5 January 2017
- jolinpl0 contributionsReliable , honest and enjoyableWe booked this tour for a family of nine to Mount Fuji , Onsen and Gotemba outlets because of our elderly member (82 years old). Yae the owner communicated fast and efficiently by email and Tom the driver arrived early at our hotel . He was unfazed by the sudden appearance of a wheelchair and managed to load it into his vehicle . Having worked as a Chef in Australia , he was able to communicate fluently in English . The trip to Mount Fuji took two hours with a toilet break halfway along the highway. We were so blessed as the roads were once again open to go up to the fifth station. The temperature was freezing and we were not at all prepared but we had some lovely photos . Then to the Benifuji onsen and lunch there . After which to the Gotemba outlets . Tom was very flexible in the timing and patient . Will definitely use their services again.Written 8 December 2016

The staff were friendly. The minibus was punctual at picking us up. They provided us with blankets and water. The tour guide was very informative and I learn new things about Japan's culture. The only problem was that the tour was shorter than I expected. We had to do a lot of waiting. We only had 2 hours to spend at Fujiten Snow Resort which was too short.

Thank you for joining our tour. Actually, winter is the best season to see Mt. Fuji because of dry air and very few chance of rain. We are so glad you can see the view of Mt. Fuji and enjoy snow experiecne.
Thank you very much!

This is our first time visiting Japan, and this is our first experience with anything snowy.
And, as they said, the first impression lasts: It was a magnificent day trip experience with wonderful staffs.
We asked for pick up point at out lodging, and the minibus arrived 1 hour before pick up time; make sure if your area is not excluded for pick up.
We had a wonderful time playing with snow, sledding and snow fighting. Taking photos and video records are inevitable, and let them testify how awesome the experience was.
The staffs were great. Friendly, helpful, and communicative. It almost made me feel guilty for asking so many things to the staff, and he always tried to accommodate our requests and needs.
The facts that we couldn't go to Lake Kawaguchiko (the tour includes sightseeing and great photos spots with Mount Fuji as background) and we didn't have a view of the Mount Fuji due to snowing all day, are inevitable. So it's best to check the forecast before making a booking. It's a balance between the accuracy of the forecast (the closer to the date, the more accurate the forecast will be) and the availability of the tour (the farther to the date, the more the tour slots will be available).
Overall, the experience was awesome. We had a wonderful time. We were traveling with 9 people (7 adults and 2 children).

The tour is worth it. Our guide, Yuki, is very friendly and accommodating. We got on the wrong train and was late for 3-5mins. We sent a message to the operator and they replied promptly. They were very gracious about it and waited for us. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

My family enjoyed our first snow experience and we are glad we chose to book with Yae. :)
The tour was very convenient as they picked us up in a private bus near our place in Tokyo and we went straight to the majestic Lake Kawaguchi with a sweeping view of Mt. Fuji. It was truly a sight to behold.
The Fujiten Resort was also a delightful and scenic experience. Imagine being in a vast mountain with fine white snow, lots of leisure activities, and with the snow-capped Mt. Fuji as your backdrop. This winter adventure is really one for the books!
If you can squeeze in a day in your Tokyo holiday, we highly recommend this countryside tour!
