- sherrylS9338ZN00Covered wagon tourFun relaxing tour with personable knowledgeable and entertaining guides named Linda and O’Dell and horses Chuck and Rustin. A large lunch with several courses was included in the tour also. Very good ! What I particularly liked was the encouraged interactions among us passengers and with the guides. We met interesting and friendly people and it was fun to share the experience with them
- 622MelanieG00Very nice rafting tripI did the wilderness rafting trip .. really enjoyed it . Perfect for families and older people. Marry was the tour guide / one doing the rowing ... very knowledgeable about the geology, the wildlife and all about the river . Really recommended this tour
- Jplatap00Lost 270 dollarsWe had an issue with our visa so the trip was delayed. I wrote them via Viator, emailed them, text message, called them, asking if it was possible to move our tour for the next day(not cancel, just move). They were late to answer our messages. I sent them support that we couldn't travel earlier because of the visa. They were late to address our concern, didn't make any effort to change the date, but STILL charged us. We even tried with Viator costumer service but everything failed. So, we end up not traveling, and lost 270 dollars. So yeah, hopefully they need the money more than us. Would not recommend
- estebanaS8007FP00Northern LightsWe had a slow start as the first few locations were not promising. Our Tour Guide Kaden, knew of a few more places and he kept is entertained while also safe in the roads. He had good resources to help us determine the best times to see the Lights. We had a good time and finally took some great pictures with his help. Very pleased with the experience the service.
- ejlmd00Saw the Aurora!!!Great experience seeing an Aurora Borealis up close and personal. Our guide, Caden, was very helpful getting us set up to take photos with proper exposure. We made 4 stops, one of which had very strong Aurora activity. Would recommend bringing a portable tripod to minimize movement of camera during long exposures.
- sayrefamilyvaca00Awesome northern lightsCaden was terrific, he went above and beyond. Made sure we found a place that was live with activity. Thank You A+++++
- idrawpicturesallday100Successful QuestWe knew it was the luck of the draw when it comes to weather and aurora activity when we booked weeks ago, and fortunately we had great conditions on the night. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and brought us to three viewing spots in a warm touring van with about 15 people total. We only had to drive about 30 minutes after picking everyone up to get to the first spot, which was a relief as we thought we’d be driving all the way to Fairbanks. Our guide helped guests out with iPhone camera settings to get the best shots, but we used a Canon compact mirrorless (F2, 3.2”, 3200). We were back at our cabin by 2AM.
- teresacV364JU00Awesome experience. Our guide was awesome. He was very helpful and friendly. He was able to give us an awesome experience.
- Q1235FNshelbys00Search of northern lightsOur tour guide was great. He took us to several locations and gave us plenty of time to view the lights. He even showed us how to see them with our phones
- MEhinger00Good way to search for Northern LightsWe'll organized. Great guide. We had both adults and children up late at night in the cold wind. Hot chocolate was provided. Our van went to several sites and our guide tracked real time northern lights activity on her iPad. We didn't see the lights but it was a worthwhile attempt. We learned a lot about the Aurora and saw a number of constellations.
- G6664XUrichardf00Cluster, total clusterTwo children drove two vans with more passengers than could safely be seatbelted. Seat belts were missing. They drove us to a fully lighted area at Otto Lake and pointed us to the south and said nothing for 15 minutes. When I complained about this and asked that they provide a tour, the older child said if I was dissatisfied, I could return to my hotel. He then called the adults, who came and picked us up and returned us to our hotel. This was a true "cluster" from start to finish. What a waste of time. I strongly recommend against ever having anything to do with Stampede.
- dougdC203UM00Great for first day in Denali areaOur guide Trinidad was excellent. Very knowledgeable, fun and friendly. I recommend using this service for one’s first day at Denali as it can help you to get an introduction and gather more useful information for the rest of your time in the area.
- 191mehdim00This company is not honest with it's costumers!!!Even if the chanse of seeing the Aurora is very low based on forecast and KP index predictions, They would still take you out there and simply they state that there wont be a refund but you cant take the tour again. It was 6 of us and we absolutely saw nothing that night but the company let the costumer to take all the risk and they don't even refund half of your money in case they Aurora doesn't happen but simply they state that there won't be a refund because they know what they do. Not fair at all. The drives wasn't safe. He would stop right on the side of the highway and turn off all lights while trucks and heavy cars were passing by which made us feel so unsafe. Look somewhere else!!
- Q8039FTkristab00Pittsburgh to AlaskaWe had a great time seeing the sites. Sophia and Colton were great they were both very friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the area and the horses. The food was amazing! We had a amazing server 😉. Thank you all. We will definitely come back.
- Leslieahodge00Alaskan adventureOur entire day at Black Diamond was a blast. We started the day with beautiful mountain golf and a relaxed vibe. Don’t get me wrong, the green maintenance was also relaxed, but it was so beautiful and fun, it didn’t matter. Rise to the challenge! After golf, we did the side by side ATV tour, and our guide Dennis was very polite and helpful. The backcountry dinner had plenty of food and drinks available, with quite a lovely setting. We got some great views and were able to collect some glacier rocks from the river. Everyone was very accommodating the entire day, and it was enjoyable for me and my husband and parents.

What an absolute scam! They provide you with a guide book with destinations that cannot possibly be reached in the 4 hour limit. We rented the vehicle, checked everything out on it before we left and got on our way. We immediately headed towards the old Denali highway to see what was there. We saw some places to pull off the road along the way, approaches and the like so that we could be out of the way of the traffic. We also pulled into a few different camping locations to go to the bathroom, then once we had about an hour left we turned around and headed back to return the vehicle. The guide was there waiting for us, we collected our things and he said we were good to go.
There was no checkout done, I had assumed that when he said everything was good it meant just that. A few days later we get an email saying that we damaged the vehicle and there were severe scratches on both sides and the hood and were demanding we pay $1400 for damages. They refused to provide any kind of pictures, evidence or proof of damage or an invoice for the body shop that had to do the repair work.
They claimed that we went off their established roads, there was nothing saying we couldn't pull off onto approaches or into camping areas. We certainly didn't take that little POS jeep off roading to non established locations.
There is nothing in their visitor guide that you couldn't see with any normal rental vehicle, save your money and save yourself a scam. If you are there on a tour bus and don't have your own vehicle and want to rent something to drive around in for the day on paved only roads that are approved ahead of time by them, that's probably ok.
Do yourself a favor and take documented pictures and video of the vehicle before and after your trip and make sure the guide signs off the inspection sheet and gives you a copy before you leave or you may be in for a scam email just like us.

The manager is very rude to not only the staff but the customers as well. We saw people getting charged for a stone chip in the window that was really hard to see and obviously had been done some time ago. The shuttle driver was on the customers side stating that the dust which was covering the whole vehicle does camouflage chips that happen all the time in this area. We chose not to take the rental.

Hi, thank you for sharing this feeback. We have no record of this interaction we would love to hear more. Please reach out to us via text or email so we can investigate. This season we have had no recorded damage and no guest that chose not to take a rental at this time. However, this experience could have been with the other Jeep tour company in the area. We do apologize that your experience in Denali was less than ideal and please reach out to us so we can investigate.

Hands down the worst experience I have ever had with a tour operator. Not only was the service terrible, but the company is unethical in its practices. When the terrible weather was clearly unsafe and offered zero visibility, they forced the tour to move ahead anyway. Despicable. Would strongly encourage tourists to look elsewhere - there are many other options.

It is an opportunity to get out on your own. We were picked up at our hotel and met the owner with the keys. Once on the road just needed to be back at the end time but then no other schedule. We pi ked the places, the stops ans how long. Nice vehicle with the only rules, be back on time and keep the wheels on the ground and off the roof.

We drove the Denali Highway in the evening. It was very desolate and no cell service if we were to get into "trouble", which was a little unnerving for NYC gals, but we still thoroughly enjoyed. Came over a small hill in the road to find a mommy moose and 2 calves standing in the middle of the road...so cute. We all just stared at each other for quite a while (we kept our distance), and then off they went into the underbrush. The scenery was outstanding.
We were able to return out Jeep to our hotel parking lot, which made it so much easier.

The service and information provided for our use to enhance our experience was excellent. Camden was very friendly, informative and professional. The Jeep was in excellent shape and provided a way to explore on our own with local information. A fun way to explore Denali and surroundings.

Sometimes when you are booked on a group tour you just want to get away and this was the perfect way to do it. We were picked up from our hotel and met up with our jeep for an on our own experience. We were free to go where and when we wanted. Stop and smell the flowers or just stretch our legs as we felt the need.
The jeep was fully loaded and fun the drive. We just headed down the road, grabbed some snacks and found ourselves on the Denali Highway.
Worth every penny.....

We loved having the Jeeps instead of our rental car to go into Denali National Park because we were able to drive into the park as far as the busses go. We wouldn’t have been able to do that with our rental car!
The staff was very accommodating and easy to work with!!

Great opportunity to take a drive and see the sights for four hours. Unfortunately to really get into Denali you have to take a Bus Tour. Heard they are good but for us sitting on a School Bus for 6, 9, or 12 hrs didn't trip our trigger. The Jeep gave us a better timed option for us and ability to go elsewhere.

I'm a little confused on how far you can travel into Denali. Am I understanding that you can go 15 miles beyond where the shuttle buses go?
TopherLCirignano
Healy, AK4 contributions
People can only drive 15 miles into the park with a personal vehicle. Anything after the 15 mile post needs to be a bus that works with Denali National Park.

Is this legit ? Home come this jeep is allowed inside of national park while other private vehicles are not and one must take bus. Will we be able to take this upto wonder lake and Eielson Visitor Cente ?

The Jeep is permitted to access the first 15 miles of the Denali National Park Road. We find a majority of guests enjoy exploring the Denali Highway. This is a gravel road ranked as the #2 Drive of a Lifetime by National Geographic. Here there are, weather permitting, stunning views of Denali (formerly Mount McKinley). This road is about 100 miles in length and is accessible.

Is there any risk of getting lost of venturing into terrain that is too rough? Debbie Hewson

Hi Debbie, each vehicle is equipped with a GPS system to help you stay oriented. Additionally, the routes that are available to explore are very clearly marked roads. Some are gravel but still are clearly marked.

Do you have any larger jeeps available? There are 6 of us traveling together.

Hello,
We have multiple Jeeps. To comfortably fit all 6 we would recommend making two bookings. That way there is plenty of room.

Which hotels are close to the entrance of the park that you pick up? Do we actually get to go into the park?
Jordan H.
Denali National Park and Preserve, AK37 contributions
Hi Kelly, there are many hotels in the area we pick up from. Some examples are Denali Park Village, Denali Grizzly Bear Resort, Grande Denali Lodge, Denali Bluffs Hotel, Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge, McKinley Chalet Resort, Crow's Nest Cabins, and more. You can travel 15 miles into Denali National Park and/or explore the Denali Highway which was voted #2 drive of a lifetime by National Geographic.

Hi, yes that is possible. Just book two times back to back!
what hotels do you pick up from
Jordan H.
Denali National Park and Preserve, AK37 contributions
Hello, we pick up from most Denali area hotels. Our pickups start as far south as Denali Park Village and as far north as the McKinley Chalet Resort. At times we pick up at other hotels depending on availability.
