About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- cpb110 contributionsA great sail and walk day! This was a great combination of sailing the beautiful Tasman Sea to Anchorage Bay and then walking the amazing coastal back to Marahau. It was a great day, and I would do it again!Written 17 June 2024
- Arturo E0 contributionsA walk in nature followed by an afternoon cruise, yes pleaseBeautiful walk, easy to follow. Afternoon cruise topped every expectation. The catamaran was spotless, the never ending supply of tea, coffee and cookies, the crew beyond friendly and super knowledgeable. 11/10!Written 27 March 2024
- 56SarahP560 contributionsLovely boat tripReally enjoyed this boat trip and self guided walk. The boat was great, really pleasant sailing and nice occasional commentary from the skipper. We ordered the picnic - which maybe wasn’t worth the price - but very convenient to have the option of ordering it. We took the boat in the morning and walked the afternoon, but I’d suggest doing it the other way around - then it’s super convenient to have them bring a picnic for you and you’ll be ready for a swim at Anchorage before boarding the boat.Written 25 March 2024
- sheryl40720150 contributionsBeautiful Abel Tasman by sea and landBeautiful day. The skipper and crew gave us lots of information about the area. So magical sailing with sail through a beautiful part of the world.Written 9 March 2024
- 383sandrat0 contributionsA Wonderful Day in Abel TasmanThe whole package was amazing. The morning trip on The Shuttle was good, the walk out around the point of the peninsula in the cool of the morning had fantastic views. Back in Anchorage we swam in the beautiful clear water before joining the catamaran. My husband, a keen sailor, was allowed to take the helm! The skipper and crew made the trip fun for everyone. They especially encouraged the younger people to participate. This was one of the best days of our brilliant holiday on The South Island.Written 1 March 2024
- Sanford F0 contributionsVery nice. Recommend.Easy booking through Victor, description very accurate. Ran right on time. Big, comfortable catamaran sailboat for the afternoon sail. Number of passengers allowed makes for non-crowded conditions. Friendly crew. It would be very nice if they added a 3 or 5 kayak's on the boat (as a competitor does) so that passengers can take a short kayak during the hour between when the sailboat boat arrives at Anchorage Bay and when it departs an hour later if they don't want to hike or swim.Written 15 February 2024
- Lenny_22220 contributionsEnjoy the stunning coastline!A wonderful journey along the Abel Tasman coast, which is stunning! The skipper Mark and in particular Richard who was crewing, were friendly and informative. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because we weren’t properly under sail. However, that’s no fault of theirs. Had the wind have been up it would have been 5 stars all the way. Made friends on the cruise too resulting in a great day!Written 26 January 2024
- Odyssey143304507360 contributionsA great day out: cruise, walk and sailMy wife and I visited New Zealand in 2019 and had booked to do this cruise. Sadly, a broken ankle meant that Karen could not do the tour at that time, so she was very pleased to be able to do it in 2024 The cruise took us into the Abel Tasman national park and dropped us off at Anchorage beach We then did the walk to Pitt Head and Te Puketea beach, where one of our party of 4 swam. After the swim, we walked back to Anchorage beach and had some lunch. Shortly after, the catamaran arrived, and it was comforting to see that the boat offered some shade - that had not been the case in 2019. The skipper, Rik (?), was very entertaining and accommodating, and as there was not much wind, the return to Kaiteriteri beach was under power. Rik offered several of the passengers the chance to take the helm, and we were very pleased to have a go. He also navigated the boat into an area that would not normally be possible, because of the tides. All in all, it was a great day out and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a way to experience the Abel Tasman national parkWritten 20 January 2024
- cyndis1350 contributionsAmazing experience in Abel TasmanThe trip was stunning and I recommend it to everyone. The crew were kind and ready to offer information. The scenery is the best I have ever seen. We loved every minute!Written 4 January 2024
- 264stellab0 contributionsLovely day!Fabulous day in an incredible park. The communication we got in advance made it easy to leave car, hike in and meet the boat. Appreciated all the information the skipper shared about the area. Very comfortable sailing and smooth transfer back to our car at the end.Written 28 December 2023
- Go650587350010 contributionsAn unforgettable day in Abel TasmanWell organized Tour. The water taxi to Anchorage was somehow crowded. The catamaran was very beautiful and had enough space. We were missing the seal colonies and other marine life of which we did not see much. All in all a good experience in untouched nature with wonderful views of lonely beaches and an outstanding water colour.Written 21 December 2023

- WrightCampMum0 contributionsBest way to finish a school camp!We were a school group. Brilliant way to finish an exhausting school camp, we had walked part of the Abel Tasman track the previous day, so a relaxing sail on our final day was an awesome way to finish.Written 21 October 2023
- 349frankk0 contributions3 hours real sailing to all viewpointsThe boat was great, the staff friendly. Best weather conditions made the trip an excellent experience as we passed all interesting viewpoints at the tour very close.Written 13 April 2023
- Cynthia K0 contributionsGreat sailing/walking combinationWe had a wonderful time on our Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures Sail, Seals & Walk full day tour. Our catamaran captain, Mark, did a great job showing us the beauty and sharing some history of the area as we sailed along the coastline. Then, we enjoyed a nice ~4 hour self-guided walk from Anchorage Bay back to Marahau. Afterward, we treated ourselves to a beer at the cafe near the car park. A perfect day!Written 16 March 2023

We had an absolutely idyllic day in the Abel Tasman. Sailing along the coastline is a totally relaxing experience with the breeze in your hair and just the sound of the water lapping against the hull. We had time on shore at Anchorage, and another little (unnamed?) beach so we could go for several swims and have a wander through the bush. The pace was relaxed, giving us the flexibility to explore the coastline and make the most of the changing tides. The scenery is just magic - photos don't do justice to the incredible colours and the clearest water you can imagine. Martin is a great skipper, giving interesting info about the history and geography of the area, but also just allowing us to absorb it all quietly too. The whole day was a fantastic way to catch up with friends in the most beautiful surroundings. Active and ourdoorsey but super relaxing too. I loved the serenity of this journey, powered mostly by the wind and knowing we were being gentle on the planet.

We spent one day sailing on our honeymoon and it was our only full day in the Abel Tasman National Park area. We chose sailing so that we could cover a lot of ground and see the beauty of the park from a different vantage point since we aren't very savvy hikers/campers. Our captain, Mark, was a master at the ship and I could tell he had grown up sailing, fun to watch! There was a storm in the area the previous night so unfortunately it was quite windy and wavy (not the operator's fault), but I could tell it would be more enjoyable on a calmer day. I'm glad i took some anti-sea sickness pills and brought a warm windbreaker with a hood. We saw many people kayaking on this rough day and I was glad to be on the boat! I think the full day sail got a bit long for us, other members of the group hiked back or took a faster boat back. Our captain was entertaining and they packed a delicious picnic lunch that we ate on the beach. Thanks!

We had a great day out on the full day sailing adventure, in fantastic weather. Mark and Claudia, our crew, provided lots of interesting info on the National Park, the local flora & fauna etc., in a relaxed, fun style. We were lucky to see not just lots of fur seals and some blue penguins (difficult to spot), but a pod of about 50 dolphins, who played around the yacht for for c 30 mins - twice! Highly recommend.

After walking the coastal track this was a great way to see the park from the water. We enjoyed seal spotting on Adele Island and caught brief glimpses of dolphins. The wind picked up in the afternoon so we could sail properly and appreciate what a great boat this is. Thanks to all the team and Mark our skipper for giving us a day to remember.

We had a great day on the water! Scott was a great guide. Even though the sailing was at capacity with a bigger group and a couple of couples, there was plenty of room and it didn't feel too full. We got to see the seals and pups, and split apple rock.
We did enjoy our lunch on the boat at Anchorage and the sail after that where there were fewer people on board. It was lovely to have a hot cup of tea. Weather was good for sailing - enough of a breeze and sunshine to make it a fantastic experience.

An amazing full day sailing trip around beautiful Abel Tasman. We were lucky with the weather but even when we did have a small shower we were able to all shelter under the cabin. The boat is very clean, smart and spacious. A great swim and lunch spot at Anchorage. Our children who are 10 and 8 loved it all too. Thank you Martin and Ella for being great skippers and hosts. Would highly recommend this for the to do list!

A relaxing, magical day is what you will have with either the full-day or any of Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures combination trips. The best way to make the most of your time in the park. Comfortable boats with toilets, tea, coffee and juice and excellent knowledgeable skippers. You might see seals, shags, special bays all whilst feeling the wind in your hair and the ocean's gentle rocking. You can order a lunch for the beach break or bring your own snacks. You'll have time togo for a swim and explore the Anchorage Hut with drinking water and flushing toilets. You'll create memories of a life time in the jewel of the South Island!

Great day out sailing along the Abel Tasman coastline with informative commentary from the crew as appropriate. Stopped for an hour and ate lunch on a lovely quiet beach. It was fairly windy out at sea so was exciting at times. Crew were very knowledgeable & happy to answer questions. We covered quite a long distance.
