    Experience with Yokoso tour
I will separate point by point Good 1. Hotel is very good 2. At least we saw Sakura. Bad 1. Bad time management. Everything rush for the tour. They give us around 15-30 mins per place even there are a lot of people on there. We have to run to temple which took around 25 mins already then hastily took photos and ran back to our bus. 2. Remove some place on plan but no compensation or at least take us to some where else !!!. Even they removed the place but everything still rush. 3. Food is not worthy which I compare with tour's price. I understood they need to safe a cost and fully spent is on hotel but It should be better at least. I would give 1.5/5. It seems to be we went though business trip which is not traveling in Japan. We're so tired for entire trips.

A good trip, but no Mt. Fuji
A disclaimer: I think the risk of not seeing Mt. Fuji or going up the 5th station could happen on any of these tours or if you tried going by yourself. The purpose, for me, of this tour was to see Mt. Fuji and with any luck, go up on it. I looked into other tours and some were more 'do it yourself' than I was comfortable with, and I liked the other activities included with this tour. I was contacted by the tour company a couple of days in advance and told that our time at the 5th station would be shortened to match sunset, but then once on the tour, we were told we would not be going to Mt. Fuji, but to an area with shopping. The issue with Mt. Fuji notwithstanding, I enjoyed this tour. It was a relatively small group (16-18 people?) on a comfortable coach. Our first stop was Odawara Castle; then a drive to lunch, which was a grill it yourself seafood buffet (there were other food options, but you still had to cook it yourself). I was not quite as comfortable cooking as others (nothing new here, I don't cook at home either), but I did try and really enjoyed the food; and it was fun, there was a lot of picture taking and laughing. You could eat all you wanted, but i didn't want to waste anything. We then went on a cruise, and it was cold and wet, and it wasn't as much fun as I would have hoped. We then went to a shopping center which provides views of Mt. Fuji except our guide didn't tell us until we were in the bus. Overall, I would do it again because, well, you just never know. I did enjoy the seafood barbecue, and in nice weather, the boat trip is probably really fun.

Stay at Shirakawago for the illumination instead of joining the tour
We went for the Shirakawago Illumination Tour with dinner and paid ¥18,000 per person. It is not a guided tour so you’re just paying for someone to organize the transportation logistics. It doesn’t even include the fee to visit the houses (¥300 per person per house) or observatory. There was also no special event on the day of our tour (fireworks happened the day before), it’s just that shops opened till later and spot lights were shining on the houses. Definitely doesn’t justify the cost of this tour. First, we started at JR Takayama station and were brought to a soba restaurant for dinner (worth roughly ¥2,000). It comprised of a bowl of cold soba, a small grilled fish, a red bean rice ball and a cup of tea. All tasty but not really what we or others in the tour group expected. Then we were led to the center of town and had 2 hours free time to walk around on our own (which was not a bad thing) before we headed back to JR Takayama station. While the tour leader, translator and driver were nice, and things ran smoothly, it still feels like a rip off for the amount we paid. Unfortunately, if you wish to view the village at night, it’s only possible with such tours (since public buses end early) or if you travel by car and reserve a parking lot or stay overnight and have a taste of both Shirakawago day and night (which would definitely be a more worthwhile way to spend the money).

    Great trip!
I had a great time on this tour. My guide, Riko, was very friendly and helpful. Odawara castle was cool to see. The lunch was interesting, since you cook it yourself on a little grill. Very tasty and fresh seafood. The short boat trip was nice, and the Skybridge was really fun.

Great 1 day tour to see local attractions plus seafood lunch!
This is one of the best 1 day trip that I have done in Osaka. The trip is by a very comfortable coach (you can choose English speaking guide). The stop at Amanoshidate is beyond description - so beautiful and breath taking! This Kyoto by the sea is definitely worth the trip by itself! The seafood buffet lunch is great value. You have as much great quality seafood as you want and you cook yourself. Great experience as we thoroughly enjoyed it! The next stop is Ine no Funaya where the cruise shows you the wooden boathouses. Also the feeding of the seagulls and eagles are quite a sight when you have eagles swooping by so close. The last stop at Miyama where we visit the Kayabuki or traditional thatched roof farmhouse village is a very interesting cultural insight. The walk around is most interesting as you view their houses, gardens and vegetable patches and also enjoy afternoon coffee in 1 of the quaint tea houses in the village. Definitely a very worthwhile tour and the price is very reasonable considering the stops and lunch!! I highly recommend this tour!!!

    Great fun activity
A good light-hearted entry into sumo, with great accommodating wrestlers and MC. We had a smaller group which made the experience shorter, but lots of good quality Q&A. A nice fun experience

If you want a Transportation Tour this is Perfect
I booked the Day Trip for Takayama and Shirakawa-Go online on the Yokoso website for 17000 yen per person. This price included a lunch with chicken. I corresponded with them with a few questions prior to booking and responses were very quick which I appreciated. Full payment was made online and with a credit card. I had no issues paying with a US credit card. There was a clear map of where to meet at 7:50 am on the day of our tour. We were staying at the Marriott Nagoya so getting there was a breeze. We even did a dry run the day before to make sure we knew where it was. On the day of the tour, there was much activity because not only does Yokoso meet here (in front of McDonald's) but since Yokoso has multiple tours, there were a ton of people there. We were returned back to Nagoya Station at around 7:30 pm. It looked like there was 1 bus of Japanese speaking tourists and another for us - English and Chinese. We had a full bus and it was one of those mega buses. We booked this tour Saturday, January 4. We had around 40 people on the bus but everyone respected each other's time and came back when our tour guide told us to. Also, they give you seat assignments which I really liked since there is no fighting for seats. The seats were OK. Not overly spacious. Here is how our day went: 8 am - left Nagoya Station 9:30 am - first toilet stop for 20 minutes 11 am - arrive at lunch. The lunch included a small portion of chicken cooked over your own pot. It would have been nice if beef was offered since this area is known for Beef Noon - depart from lunch 12:10 pm - 1:50 pm - 1 hour 40 minutes for Takayama 2 pm - leave for Shirakawa-Go 3 pm - 5 pm - 2 hours for Shirakawa-Go 7:30 pm back to Nagoya Station with 1 restroom break This is not a guided tour. You are given a walking map and a brief description and you are off to wander on your own. Very little information was given by our guide. On the bus, our guide asked if we needed them to get us tickets to the Shirakawa-Go open air museum for 600 yen per person. We did end up having them do this but it is not necessary. You can get this ticket yourself. Also, in Shirakawa-Go, you can walk 15 minutes from town and go up to the observatory which gives you a higher view of the town. I thought overall, this was a good tour for us because we like to walk around on our own without following a guide. And we didn't have to worry about transportation and getting from Takayama to Shirakawa-Go. The time given was perfect. I would recommend doing a little bit of research before hand since it is not a guided tour. You might want to tag some places for a snack.

    Worth the ride
The conductor of the tour was warm and friendly. Great food and great way to end the year. However, they could have added more activities or sites where we can tske pictures of Mt.Fuji considering that we are in areas where we were in the line sight of the mountain

Trip was fun! The best part was eating at the yakiniku restaurant with unlimited japanese bbq and at the back of the restaurants was Mt. Fuji.

    A great trip
Meet up point is a bit distanced from shinjuku station, luckily we survey the route a day ahead. Our guide Kyoko-san is very friendly and helpful, arranged every thing in a good manner. As expected, the lunch time is a bit rush but the food is great. We not manage to go to 5th station, but we are geeatful that the view at Arakurayama Sengen Park is perfect, we manage to catch Mt Fuji and snow view.

Mass tourist coach tour with too much tat
This tour really depends heavily on good weather and if you don’t get it (which apparently is most of the time) then there’s a big risk of disappointment. That’s obviously not the tour operator’s fault, but I was disappointed because it’s basically a mass tourist trip on a coach which takes you to unnecessary coach-tourism places which you probably wouldn’t choose to go to, usually with the aim of selling you tat. I was frustrated to spend a lovely sunny morning being driven to various coach-tourism places I wasn’t interested in, then by the time we got to Fuji the clouds had rolled in and we couldn’t see it. The rain poured down and then we went to a weird and pretty dated illumination park. If you’re ok with big tourist coaches and tat, and you get a clear day, then I can imagine you might have a decent day. Unfortunately I dipped out on all the above...

    Fascinating and well-run tour
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, and loved getting out of the city. It was a long day (11 hours total), but worth it, as we saw so many interesting places. I’ve been wanting to see Amanohashidate, as my great-great aunt stayed there in 1911 and was moved by the beauty and the people there. I would have liked to bicycle along the sand spit, but settled for looking out over it from the excellent viewpoint at the top of the cable car. Miyama and Ine were also fun to visit (a traditional village with wonderful thatched roves, and a fishing village from the sea). Our guides and translators were upbeat and took great care of us - they made sure I sat next to someone who spoke English, and one even stayed behind a few minutes to collect my temple stamp! The bus was very comfortable and the seafood buffet lunch we had was a sumptuous feast - I was very impressed.
