About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- country_hopper20190 contributionsAmazing tour with an excellent tour guide and company. The tour was amazing. Yoyo was our guide each day and he really was an awesome guide. We actually added on Stargazing and sunrise tours. I highly recommend the whole package. We got such good information about the history of the island and the Moai. Yoyo always made sure we had good opportunities for photos and always took time to answer our questions. Mark was the orator for the stargazing. He explained to us how they use to use the stars to navigate. He provided chairs and gave us such a good explanation without being too much. He pointed out many constellations as well as he had two telescopes for us. One to view the moon and the other to view Jupiter and 4 of its moons (visible that day). It does have to be a mostly clear night to experince this adventure. He also took photos of us with midnight sky. Yoyo was also our guide for the sunrise tour on the last morning. He knew the perfect spot for us to sit and watch so that we would not only be away from the other tour groups, but have amazing photo opportunities. I highly recommend booking with Green Island Tours. The small group tour of only 8 people was perfect. Without a doubt I would book with them again. And their communication from inquiry and through our departure from the island was excellent.Written 18 March 2025
- perrysburg0 contributionsExcellent 2 day small group tour of Easter IslandThe Cruise Shore Excursion "2 day small group tour of Moai Monuments and historic pathways" was excellent. Over the course of the 2 days we saw statues located throughout the island plus the volcano plus other historic sites and we learned so much! The tour company was well orgnized and our guide was amazing, being a native to Easter Island with many local stories. We walked a lot and saw much! We highly recommend this tour . (note: only partial refunds if ship doesn't make port;)Written 12 March 2025
- cecile r0 contributionsComplete Rapa Nui with good guidesOur guide Patricio we had for the privat tours Historic pathways and Monument Tour was a nice man and full of knowledge. The Tongariki sunrise we had with Tokerau and the Hidden Treasures tour we had with Joyo. All 3 guides where perfect and had a lot of knowledge. It was interresting and fun. And there was room for small changes. We really recommend this company 🤗Written 27 February 2025
- ButchCl0 contributionsGreat two experience to see the main sites on Easter IslandI did the two day tour with Green Island Tours. It was the perfect tour to get the overview of the Moai history and see the major sites of Easter Island. I had Yoyo as the tour guide and he has a lot of knowledge about the Moai history and is very effective in sharing his knowledge. I really appreciate this given that you need a tour guide to see the sites in the Rapa Nui park. This is definitely one of the best tours.Written 8 February 2025
- Mandy P0 contributionsAwesome island toursWhat an amazing experience we had with green island tours 😃. We took the full package... monument tour accompanied by patricio- his knowledge was phenomenal and his enthusiasm for his island uplifting. The start gazing with mark was very special....the sky and stars were endless. Lovely touch of hot chocolate and cake nicely rounded off on the beach # amazing photos. The historical tour was a really interesting insight into local legends with an amazing empanada stop! Our island visit was rounded off with sunrise over tonariki- a little cloudy but still great shots and what a back drop. Highly recommend booking with this great company . Great communication throughout from booking to each day tripWritten 4 February 2025
- IndySig0 contributionsAn excellent day.We had a great day with yo-yo on outmr private day adventure. We hiked the coastline, swam in tide pools, walked pastures with wild horses and enjoyed many hidden parts of the island. A truly great day.Written 27 January 2025
- IndySig0 contributionsTouch the Milky Way.What an amazing night. This was the second tour we did with Green Island with Yoyó as our guide. You travel to the other side of the island and you get a nice explanation of the stars and navigation. As the stars and planets start coming out, you get to see them through their telescopes. Their diopters were a bit small and upgrading to a screen would have been much better, but it was still great. Once the Milky Way comes out you feel that you could touch the stars. A great night viewing experience.Written 27 January 2025
- IndySig0 contributionsExcellent DayWe did multiple tours with Green Island during our visit to Rapa Nui. Yo-yo was our guide and he was excellent. It’s a long day but there is so much to see. Bring your hiking shoes as we walked almost 5 miles. Great tour worth ever minute.Written 27 January 2025
- KirklandGuy0 contributionsWonderful company, wonderful toursFantastic guides and an i credible company overall. Extremely responsive over WhatsApp and e-mail, and very helpful figuring out how to fit in everything I wanted to see while on Rapa Nui!Written 7 January 2025
- Juli K0 contributionsBeautiful starry night on the beachVery fun experience. Looking at the stars on the beach was amazing. And Marc even sang us a beautiful song, he should be a singer. Yoyo got everyone back to the hotel safely. I would go again anytime.Written 4 December 2024

He was always on time and great company! We highly recommend Patricio! You can contact him on this number +56 9 8892 2917.Written 16 November 2024
- player6760 contributionsTwo full day and two half day private tour (with stargazing night)We spent 2 full and 2 half days with Yoyo and he was beyond spectacular. He exceeded our expectations in every way, from his knowledge of the island, his patience with our family (which included two teenagers and two seniors), to even the food recommendations. Your company was top notch and everything about the experience was first class.Written 16 September 2024
- hollyz3680 contributionsSimply the Best!We spent the most amazing two full days with Tokerau on the Moai Monuments and Historic Pathways Tours. Tokerau is a local Rapa Nui, born and raised, with education in tourism. He was effervescent and passionate about his heritage, and eager to share his knowledge and experiences of his homeland. He carefully planned out our itinerary each day, from timing the site visits to avoid crowds and recognized weather patterns so we could see the best parts before the rain approached. He also arranged the tour in a chronological order so it would be easier for us to follow and digest the island’s rich history. Tokerau encouraged questions and explained everything in such detail, not only the history, but the significance of each maoi period, to various types of volcanic stones, to the restoration process. We were thoroughly impressed with the breadth & depth of his knowledge. At the end of the two days, we felt we were in the company of a friend, and not just on a typical tour. Also a shoutout to Paulina and YoYo. Paulina organized the tours for us, with immediate responses to all questions asked. Excellent communication - kept us informed with the schedule to Stargazing and Sunrise tours as the island weather is unpredictable in winter. Paulina also proactively emailed me the required forms to enter the island ahead of time so we need not have to scramble at the airport. YoYo - our excellent guide to the Sunrise Tour. He made an extra stop for us to see the stars and constellations ahead of the sunrise, because he knew we had missed the Stargazing tour for 2 consecutive nights due to the rain. YoYo not only showed us the best vantage point to capture the Tongariki sunrise and away from the crowd, he also knew the exact timing and the angle in which the sun rose! Rapa Nui is magical. If you ever have the opportunity to visit the island, I highly recommend the professional and knowledgeable team of Tokerau, YoYo and Paulina! They are simply the best on the island.Written 15 September 2024
- 652tomast0 contributionsGreat tour company!Amazing tour company and tour guide Yoyo was absolutely fantastic! I did the Sunrise at Ahu Tongariki tour and couldn’t be any happier. My tour ended up being completely private with just the tour guide, he provided so much information about the place, recommended some nice photo spots and walked around with me. He then let me spend some time and watch the sunset on my own to feel the real spirit of the place. Pick up and drop off on time and overall experience very smooth.Written 12 September 2024
- T1372VCethanw0 contributionsIncredible experience at Rapa NuiI had 5 days on Rapa Nui and ended up booking 4 tours with this company. As a solo traveler who doesn't speak fluent Spanish, I enjoyed both tour guides with Yoyo and Tokerau, who are both natively from Rapa Nui, and speaks English that explained everything very well to me. This company organizes tour with small size group, so you can spend more time chatting with them about anything on this island. Through them, I not only learned the rich history of Rapa Nui, but also felt deeply connected to this island and its culture while I was there. The moai monument tour was definitely the highlight by visiting Tongariki and Rano Rarakou, but I also highly recommend the hidden treasure tour that no other tour company on the island will take you to see those places. The star gazing tour and sunrise tour would depend by the weather to have the best experience, but Green Island Tour knows the best places to take picture, and organized these tour experience very well. The star gazing tour is another 10/10 because very few companies on the island would organize such tour in the evening, and it left me with an unforgettable memory about that night by the Anakena beach, and seeing the beautiful milky way with my eyes. Last but not the least, the communication is outstanding, Paulina organized everything well and made sure my tour runs smoothly every day. I'm very satisfied choosing this company for my Rapa Nui experience.Written 24 August 2024

Overall, our experience with Green tours was terrific.
Easter island is a special place and it’s important that you have the right guide to offer a perspective beyond what you see.
We signed up with Green tours for multiple full days small group tours and a private tour. My experience with them was very professional marked with clear communication.
The most important part for me was their guide - YoYo. He is a native, with incredible experience of the place, fluent with English, most importantly knows the art of story telling. Extremely conscious of the elderly in the group, and equally enthusiastic to answer all our questions.
Green tours Co is definitely not the cheapest option on the island - but I did experience a strong sense of professionalism. You could actually hire private guides after you get down there, but I cannot speak for their fluency of English or knowledge.

My wife and I came to Easter Island on vacation and to celebrate our anniversary by seeing this remote island with their wondrous Moai statues carved by the ancient Rapa Nui but we were blessed to receive the fantastic experience that can only be provided by exceptional human interaction. Marc served as our guide and, not only was he a fount of information, but also a personable, grounded individual with a tremendous, positive spirit who offered great perspective and connection. This adventure would not have been the same without him and we are extremely thankful that the stars aligned in our favor in this regard. This was, by far, the best tour we have ever experienced in our travels… Marc and the Green Island tour group are highly recommended!

Green Island Tours did an amazing time setting up three days of sightseeing on the island. They were incredibly communicative and did everything they could to tailor the trip to my requests. The guides were also incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable, unveiling the history of the island as we went along.

The communication with Paulina, the administrator of the company, was excellent from the start. When we arrived on the island and found that the heat and humidity were causing problems for my health, she quickly and efficiently rearranged the tours to take advantage of the cool weather in the morning.
Yoyo, our guide for two of the excursions, is incredibly knowledgeable, but also a kind and funny man - the type you'd want to have as your friend. I learned as much from him in our time together as I did reading several books about the island. He was also a lead performer in one of the Tapati festival events and is known and respected all over the island.
The Stargazing tour with Marc and his partner was beyond words. It was again a mix of deep knowledge about the stars, navigation, and Polynesian history and a true passion for those subjects. Unexpectedly, they sang and played the guitar for us beautifully. The picture they took of us at Anakena Beach at midnight looks like it was from a professional photo shoot. That was possible because of their attention to detail concerning the position of the moon and the time of its rising.
On the tour, we saw the Milky Way with the naked eye, Venus, Jupiter and some of its moons, and star clusters through their telescope. All in all, it was an awesome experience that I'd do again given the chance.

We booked two days of private tours (myself and my wife). Tiko, our guide, was excellent. A native of Rapa Nui, he was able to answer every question we had about the things he was showing us as well as just about anything else. The car used was comfortable and capable, and the flexibility by Tiko and Green Island Tours was very useful to make the most of our two days on the island.
We also did Stargazing with Marc. This was a shared activity and was hugely informative and enjoyable and we even got a great picture go along with it!

We did four tours with Green Island tours and each experience was wonderful. Our guide for each adventure was Yoyo. A local who has lots of knowledge and experience and a guide who doesn’t talk incessantly- a true bonus.
Three of our tours were small group trips and the Hidden Rapa Nui was a private trip. We walked about 5 miles on each of the trips so wear appropriate shoes. We also got to swim in our own private tide pool on the Hidden trip - amazing.
Thank you Green Island Tours and Yoyo.

We had such an amazing time in Rapa Nui. The big part about that trip was Marc, who made a great itinerary for us and gave his personal guidance on what to see during our stay there! He was our guide for the week-long trip and planned everything for the entire week. It's hard to put into words how much fun we had on our trip. From the moment Marc picked us up at the hotel for our first tour, his enthusiasm for all things Rapa Nui and holistic photography made him feel like part of our family! He tailored a perfect itinerary based on what appealed most about visiting this magical place- from golden hour photos in Rano Raraku or night shots around Anakena, there were always new adventures waiting just outside each day's destination window—it really felt like he knew exactly where every photo opportunity existed. Thank you, Marc, for such an amazing experience. Māuru-uru!

Green Island Tours was a pleasure to work with from the correspondences with Paulina to the day of the tour - coordinating our disembarkation from the cruise ship to meeting our guide on the pier. The tour was fantastic; Yoyo, our guide, an Easter Island native, knew everything there was to know about the island and imparted his knowledge and insights in a fun and informative way. The price was very competitive. It was an excellent value. Highly recommended!

When going on a tour you want a tour guide who’s well informed and knows their way around. We got more than that with Marc. Apart from being extremely well informed about the island he clearly was having alot of fun doing the tour. It was such a great and fun tour! I would take another tour with him in a heartbeat! We got to see everything I had wanted to see and more. Thank you so much Marc.
The booking and communication was swift, questions were answered promptly. All in all a fantastic experience with Green Tours Easter Island! Thank you for a memorable tour.

I went to Easter Island 2 weeks ago. I did a tour with this company because I've heard they were one of the best ones on the island. Now, I have no doubt it is true. All the has been very professional and friendly. The person who attended me at the office was Paulina, who was very informative and took the time to explain to me all about the tours. The guide of my tour was Kava Pakarati, a very friendly, spontaneous and wisdom person. He was born in Rapanui so he was able to answer all my questions in all the different spots that we have visited as Ana te Pahu, Rano Kau, Ahu Akivi, among others. I totally recommend going with this company to discover Rapanui!

Do you feel that tours need to be booked prior to arrival or can we wait til we get there. We'll be there Dec. 20,21 and half day 22. We want to avoid major touring when the cruise ships come to to dock.

I see two different prices listed for the park pass. Is it US$60 per person if bought at the airport or $US 80 elsewhere. It mentions both amounts in the descriptions.
