My 2nd time flying virgin atlantic and all I can say is avoid their 787 aircraft... it's the most dated cabin in their fleet... the tvs are small and the seats are uncomfortable... but the staff are excellent.. If your planning on flying with virgin look out for the A339 or A350 aircraft when travelling if you can. We come home on their A339 and it was a great experience.

Virgin Atlantic doesn’t care and doesn’t take ownership of their failures.

My flight was canceled 2 days before we were scheduled to travel to Europe. They rescheduled us only after we argued with them at the ticket counter and we ended up having to fly out 24 hours after our original flight was scheduled. This delay caused a domino effect of things that we had to miss and had already paid for in Europe because arriving a day late. This occurred over the Christmas holiday and it was impossible to reschedule anything last minute. We missed our train because of the flight getting in late and there were no more trains available for a few days to get to our final destination, so we had to book a flight with a different airline from London to Zürich or risk missing additional bookings that we already had scheduled. We ended up having to spend an additional $2000 because of this delay and Virgin is not taking any responsibility for it and pretty much brushing us off. I will never fly with them again and I recommend no one does either. They do not take ownership for their failures and do not care about their customers.

Worse experience ever!!

I had an appalling experience with Virgin Atlantic that left me frustrated and deeply disappointed. Not only was my flight delayed by five hours, but we were forced to sit on the plane for three of those hours without food, only to be informed that the flight was canceled. This announcement came at 1:38 am, leaving us stranded with no support from Virgin Atlantic. Passengers were instructed to find their own accommodation and transportation in the middle of the night. It took me nearly two hours to secure a hotel, as no guidance or assistance was provided by the airline. The lack of organization and care during this ordeal was shocking. To make matters worse, I lost a sentimental family heirloom—a Cartier rose gold diamond ring—on the flight. When I realized I had left it behind, I immediately requested to go back onto the plane to retrieve it but was denied. I reported this to more than four Virgin Atlantic staff members, hoping someone would help. Despite providing detailed information about the item’s location, no one took immediate action, and my item is now lost or possibly stolen. This experience has been unacceptable from start to finish. The lack of care, communication, and accountability from Virgin Atlantic is inexcusable. I expected better from an airline of this caliber, and I sincerely hope they take steps to address these systemic issues.

Travelled from Manchester to Barbados on 9th Jan 2025 on possibly the worst day for weather this winter so far.snow, ice and fog . We were delayed first at the airport and then in the plane for three hours and the captain and his crew were amazing and we managed to depart , I don’t think many flights did. The captain even came by us in the airport baggage in Barbados and thanked everyone for being so patient. Now for the worst bits. We have been Flying Club members since 1998 and used Virgin premium frequently, why has it changed ? The seats are much much smaller, there’s no leg room anymore. Used to be able to be in the Middle seat and walk past a passenger without disturbing them, not any more. Foot rests have disappeared. I didn’t check economy but feel sorry for anyone who used it. The food was mostly. Inedible. On the return flight yesterday I had a dry, barely there veg curry, with another dry choc brownie for dessert . The red wine was freezing cold!! and disgusting. Following.morning I chose English breakfast, soggy scrambled eggs, watery baked beans, raw bacon and sausage, yuk, it went straight back uneaten, as did most of the meals around me.I wonder if Virgin ever check reviews. Coupled with the seating , bad food, etc I will never set foot on. Virgin plane again.

UTTER GARBAGE- NEVER AGAIN

Went on a family holiday to Beverly Hills and surrounding attractions. 3 out of 4 suitcases lost on the outbound flight and the two week policy for reclaiming costs for lost luggage effectively lapsed by the time we got home. The real stinker however was that some five weeks after returning the Beverly Hills Marriott Hotel deducted $6000 from my credit card two days before Christmas because Virgin Holidays didn’t pay them. They took 28 days to respond to my request to look into it and secretly negotiated a refund to my credit card three weeks after the money was deducted. They then paid the hotel and admitted that they pay a lower rate and was charged to my card. They claimed they paid on time and it was a hotel’s fault, but that’s not what the hotel say. instead of accepting responsibility for their mistakes, they try to lie their way out of it and at no point during the ONE call they gave me did they ever say sorry for leaving us so short of money just before Christmas or a disgusting and never again. Even when the money had been deducted, I couldn’t speak to anyone. Guess what though, the sales team were all available for new bookings…
