For a flight from Germany to Sweden (which for reference takes 2 hours with a direct flight) we ended up stuck at airports for three days due to constant delays and cancellations. Day one we have our flight cancelled as we're on the bus heading off to board the plane. It turns back, and we wait well over an hour for our luggage to be unloaded, not really knowing exactly where it'll unload. Unable to find a EuroWings rep, we head off to a hotel and end up having to book a fairly pricey room due to low availability. Our ticket has been automatically rebooked, except this time from another city with a layover. Day two we pay for a train ticket to Cologne and spent the majority of the day at the airport. Shortly before our flight is set to arrive we're notified that it'd been delayed, now leaving us with roughly 5 minutes to make our connecting flight. Since it was extremely likely we'd just end up stuck in a third city we opted to track down a rep and have it rebooked. They had no more flights that day, and ended up booking a direct flight to Arlanda the next day. At least this time they got us a hotel. No food though. Cue some more waiting around for our luggage before heading off to the hotel for the night. Day three is spent mostly lounging around at the airport, only to once again be told that our flight has been delayed. Delay after delay, it was happening again. By some miracle we actually managed to board, and since there were no layovers to miss we finally made it home. During these days we'd frustratingly watch as every other airline managed to take off on time without any issues. Whatever was going on certainly only seemed to affect EuroWings and Lufthansa. We filed for compensation with EuroWings for the hotel and food about a week after we got home. That was over two months ago, and we've had nothing but radio silence from EuroWings. Just steer clear of EuroWings. Or any airline owned by Lufthansa for that matter.…
