Air Mauritius (MK) is the flag carrier of the country of Mauritius and the fourth-largest airline in sub-Saharan Africa. Its primary hub is located at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU), just outside the capital city of Port Louis. The airline offers non-stop flights to Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Réunion, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. The airline also has codeshare agreements with Air France, Emirates, Malaysia Airlines, South African Airways and Virgin Australia Airlines. Out bound flight was Absolute Chaos. Plane changed, not enough business class seats on replacement aircraft, re-routed via LHR and Paris, then delayed 18 hours. Not the best way to start a holiday. Have flown with them many times pre covid with no major issues. They are nowhere near as good now.

The business class lounge would have to be the WORST business lounge I have ever stopped in. This is my 3rd time in 2 years and the food is crap every time. The decor and cleanliness is horrible! You pay so much money for absolute rubbish. I literally checked the temperature gage on the heat display this time it said ‘38?’ for the hot food and it’s stone cold. Im starving and waiting for my flight which boards in 3 hours. Air Mauritius needs to catch up with the rest of the world and for paying so much money surely they can serve hot food and invest in a Reno or good cleaning?! All the seats are stained , carpet dirty. Dust. Just such a disappointment over and over.

On return flight from Mauritius were notified that the flight was now being operated by HiFly . Firstly didn’t get the seats we had paid extra for so were sat apart from friends . Then we probably experienced the worst airline on the planet. Very old aircraft not much info online about their safely and toilets out of action ,not to mention headrest screens only show the aircraft information, you have to scan a QR code to access a closed WiFi network. This give access a maximum of seven films ,two tv series but no internet. Even if there was anything worth watching you still need an appropriate device with plenty of charge (no way to charge on the plane) and headphones . No mention of this before boarding. When challenged about lack of entertainment for a thirteen hour flight staff couldn’t care less and got angry when asked how to complain. If you can avoid either of these airlines then do so

Our flight was cancelled, no reason given. Had to pay 1 nights accommodation and told to claim back from airline. Todate have received no response from them and so out of pocket around £150.

"Don't bother if you change your mind, the Air Mauritius contact number is real hard to get onto and I've now been waiting over 60 minutes grrrrr"
