Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

I had to modify my flight and add a checked baggage. After I was directed to the submit change page, an unexpected 113$ penalty was added. There was no way to cancel the change request and even without pushing the Submit request button my bank account was charged the luggage price + 113$ Guys you need to make this clear and improve the booking page. Otherwise the flight itself was nice and smooth.

Rarotonga - Aitutaki

After my parents having the worst year for them in 2019, we got them to join us for Christmas for 4 weeks. We had won an auction for them to fly to Aitutaki with 2 nights accommodation. Of course this is the busy season and Air Rarotonga were gracious enough to find flights for them ( did I mention my parents are 81 years of age) and look after them. When I picked them up after their stay in Aitutaki, they looked so relaxed and happy. What a great team at this Airline and our family can't thank you enough for starting 2020 on a high for them.

Rarotonga - Aitutaki

Rarotonga is the main island of the Cook Islands where the international flights land. If you want to visit any of the outer islands, then Air Raro is the way to go. Most people fly to Aitutaki for a day tour, but it is worth looking at other islands to visit such as Mangaia, the most southern island of the 15 island Cook Islands group. Air Raro flys there most days and it is very easy to book online with them or through a travel agency or at their office at the Raro airport. In December 2019 I had a special opportunity to visit Mangaia and the scenery is spectacular. Mangaia is said to be the oldest island in the Pacific and was formed by a volcanic eruption more than 16 million years ago. The flight from Raro to Mangaia takes about 40 minutes across the vast Pacific ocean with a precision landing on the gravel airstrip on the edge of the airstrip. Air Raro uses the Brazillian made Embraer Bandeirante planes for the island hop which ideal for landing on the short unpaved coral runways. The planes are serviced regularly over in New Zealand All pilots and planes are licensed by the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority. A 34 seat SAAB is used for the Aitutaki day trip. If you want a sense of adventure and a flight to a really remote Pacific island, then have a look at the Air Raro schedule and I can highly recommend a few days over in Mangaia, one of the most spectacular islands to visit when you are in the Cook Islands. Note - the Trip Advisor drop down list does not include Mangaia in the Cook Islands.

Rarotonga - Aitutaki

We've been a week on Rarotonga and Aitutaki was next. On the airport a nearly brand new?aircraft was waiting for us - and it was a "Saab 340A airliner" - the best there is! The location of Rarotonga airport is beautiful, too - just wait and see when you are up in the sky - just like a dream. The captain and his crew very professional and big smils. The flight was under one hour, a lot of blue Pacific only and a amazing landing on Aitutaki Island with all this white beaches. (June som years ago) PS. if somebody like this "Island hopping ", the Cooks Islands have 9 Island airport destinations! - Air Rarotonga has one more very interesting destination, the flight RAR - PPT, Tahiti!! - in only 2,5 hours! :) It's a collaboration and a flight with Air Tahiti - but the booking can be done by Air Rarotonga, too! - or ask Tripadvisor for help :)

Air New Zealand flight to Raro was efficient as ever and friendly staff on time, onward flight to Aitutuaki was with Air Rarotonga, this was a domestic flight with easy transition, anyone thinking it would be a bit of a issue changing international to domestic, it is easy so flights to other cook islands are not an issue.
