My husband and I completed the Otago Central Rail Trail mid February. It was easy to book and Fletch made the whole process run smoothly. We had some very hot weather on the first day and my husband was rather unwell so Fletch arranged for us to go with the luggage on day 2. After that all went well. Accommodation was fine. Loved Blacks Hotel in Ophir, Wedderburn Cottages were great and the final night in Hyde was very enjoyable. The curling was a great activity to do from Wedderburn. We travelled on the Taieri Gorge train to Dunedin which was also organised by Fletch. This was fantastic. Great views along the way.
Be prepared for all weather conditions. We had 33 degrees+ one day, and then set off one morning in 2 degrees, luckily we had gloves and beanies. One piece of advice would be to set off on day 1 early. It is quite a long way and if it is hot you need to be on the track before it heats up. (Which we did not do.) Bikes were great and the computer was so helpful, telling you how far you had gone. Whole trip is really worth doing.

We recently finished the assisted bike ride along the Otago Rail Trail with Fletch from 'Bike it Now'. What a great 5 days we had. Everything ran like clock work, from being picked up at our hotel in Queenstown to being delivered to the train station to take the Taieri Gorge Train back to Dunedin.
We arrived in Clyde to be fitted for our bikes and meet the rest of our group. The bikes were of a very high standard and we had no issues with them over the 5 days we were on the trail. Everything was organised for us, accommodation, meals, side trips to interesting places off the trail and snacks along the way. Fletch was great fun and knew so much about the area. A real peoples person who kept us informed and entertained. Everything was well planned and executed.
Thanks to the Bike it Now team for making the trip such a fun experience. If you are going to do the rail trail, do it with these guys.

I, along with my mate, are apparently the first 'schoolies' to have ever ridden the trail, or at least to have ever done it with Bike-It-Now, so yeah, I real honour. It was an amazing experience.

I went in early summer, December the 1st to the 4th. However, it was perfect weather for riding, as it rarely got 'too hot' (quite the opposite, in fact, a lot of the time it was cold). It was sunny for most of the trip which made it a very pleasant ride.
It's an easy ride, nothing difficult about it, and it could easily have been done by us in 3 days instead of 4. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every minute of it.

Thank you Bike-It-Now! :)
(and sorry for the delay in my review haha)

My "Bike it Now" experience was in Dec 2014 and apologies Fletch for taking so long to write the review. OK - lets keep it simple. If you want an organised bike experience in NZ you should just go to Bike it Now. From pick up in Queenstown, accommodation, the bikes, the tour and the drop off back in Queenstown. Bike it Now is a complete service if you want it - as it was for me and the 3 fellow riders. Fletch speaks very honestly about the business, the tour options, the area and gave hints on what to do and see. And from what we saw Bike it Now has the best bikes for the Otago Rail Trail. So get to it :)

Thank you Fletch, Duncan and the team at Bike iIt Now! for a fantastic experience.

Bike It Now! have the best service, best bikes and best team in the business. The trip was so well thought out and planned and the recommendations of where to stay and what local activities to do were just right to what we were looking for.

The 150 km Otago Rail Trail trip was over 4 days, starting at Clyde and finishing at Middlemarch and we enjoyed every meter of it.

I'm a regular mountain bike rider and was impressed with the qaulity and the specs of the bikes, they are exactly what you need for this sort of terrain and conditions. The panniers carry all you need to take on the trail and come complete with a weather protector that will cover the panniers if it's raining.

I would highly recommend this company for their professionalism and willingness to accomodate what individual customer needs and requirements are.

The Otago Rail Trail is a credit to the Otago community, it's breathtaking scenery mean that you'll need to stop regularly for photos. Do yourself a favour and do this ride.
