Beautiful setting on a little lake. In the day this had to be very nice. It's a 3 star in my opinion today. It has its charm but does need some real love and care and some refreshing and refurbishing. The breakfast was very simple with a few items you got to choose from.

Arrived here after dark after a gruelling ride. We were lodged in the little cottages - showered and changed we went for dinner, which was pretty good. Being late night types and wanting to chill, we were surprised to find that the "bar" was effectively shut. It was made pretty obvious to us that we were expected to go to bed at around ten. The cottages were large and quite comfortable - good sized comfy beds, but there was a general air of decline about the place, bathroom/shower was a little careworn. Nevertheless had a cracking night's sleep. Next morning strolling to breakfast - we found the swimming pool, it lacked a certain something and a large sign in English declared it "broken". Breakfast was an option of omelette or scrambled eggs. I opted for the latter which was simply an omelette mashed up ! Coffee was good though. Don't expect too much would be my tip !

There are not many options for places to stay in Ha Giang and this place seems to come out top in most guides. Although I am sure there are many good homestay alternatives. The rooms are fine. They are clean and air conditioned. Everything feels a bit like it has had a better day, but it is perfectly functional as a place to stay. The restaurant also provides decent enough food. Overall, I would say that so long as you come with realistic expectations, this place is OK.

This place could be fantastic but it is way off that. The room was dirty and smelt damp and the shower was like something in a social housing bedsit, and a poor one at that. The pool was a dirty brown colour and had scum on it, it was completely unusable. Food was good in the restaurant and reasonably priced. That and the bedsheets being clean rescued this place from a one star review

We stayed one night here after riding the Ha Giang loop on motorbikes. Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend much time as we arrived at 6pm and checked out at 6am to catch a bus. But from what we saw this is a great resort to spend some time relaxing and enjoying what Ha Giang has to offer in relative comfort. We were very hungry when we arrived as we had been riding all day and the food in the restaurant did not disappoint.

Let's face it: As far as hotels are concerned, there is not much choice in North Vietnam! But, as we were a little tired of homestays and wanted some privacy, this hotel fit the bill. And we were pleasantly surprised after having read many negative reviews. No, it isn't a 5 star resort, but it is unfair to expect it as the price is incredibly low! Rooms are indeed quite decent with great beds. The bungalows are surrounded by huge trees and gardens, and they have a big balcony with rocking chairs. Bathrooms are not superb, with low lighting, and as usual, shower wetting the whole room. But air conditioning and wifi were great. Breakfast and dinner were decent, and service pleasant. Yes, there are some false flowering cherry trees but they do not stick out, and on the whole blend with the other trees. All in all, we were satisfied with the comfort and cleanliness of this place

It seems unfair to critisise as this place is not attempting to cater for western tastes - and nor should it. It is a 'resort' for vietnamese tourists, providing selfie opportunities in front of plastic trees, statues and paddle boat swans! The room was fine. The meal distinctly average. I suspect we were booked in here as part of our tour through NE Vietnam as there are very few alternatives. It was OK as we were just passing through.

The room was very basic and not exactly clean and certainly not comfortable. The people are really nice and do their best to provide a nice service and food but it is geared to local tourists and not Europeans who are used to creature comforts!

This resort is some sort of get away place for local people and not at all meant for Tourists. When it is not meant for Tourists, I guess I should not complain because it was my mistake to go and stay there :). Hence I really dont want to go into the details of poor cleanliness, lack of any sort of standards etc. Two experiences worth mentioning though.. 1. No hot water in the bathroom and after I reported I was taken to another room so that I can use that bathroom. upon reaching there, the guests just checked out, with their rubbish all over that room, the bathroom, I will never forget that site. I had no choice to take a shower there because I was so desperate to have a hot shower before I continue on my next 7 hours trip back to Hanoi. 2. Getting woken up by heavy discotheque music early morning coming from what appeared to be some kind of function going on in the hotel campus..Oh Boy..!!. You have been warned..!!

This place promotes itself as a beautiful ecolodge, but is a motley collection of bungalows and function rooms set in a gloomy semi-tropical garden with concrete crazy paving paths, ponds and weird sculptures such as a large rhino. The kitsch theme, driven by the hotel’s other role as a wedding venue and ‘attraction’ for locals, continues with plastic flower arches and arbours, fake trees and broken-down seating areas for posed wedding photographs. The hotel is set by a dank green river, and has a swimming pool: it was half-full of dirty water and plastic rubbish when we arrived, and empty the following morning. The pool's rubbish-strewn decking led to a new 3-storey block under construction, in which the construction workers were (amazingly) cooking and sleeping at night on the shell of the ground floor. Overall the gardens and grounds were untidy, and lots of maintenance is needed The guest accommodation and public areas are elderly and need a lot of renovation. Our room overlooking the river (supposedly one of the best in the hotel) had tired decoration and the furniture and fittings were old, grubby and broken: the bathroom (with wet-room-style shower drenching the toilet) had three rows of tiles missing to expose dirty concrete; the balcony door would barely open; there was no mosquito net but gaping cracks in the warped windows and doors. We ate in the restaurant – badly. Coursed were served in the wrong order, with spring roll starters following the main course. Both hot and cold vegetable spring rolls were filled with carrot and cabbage in wet mayo, effectively coleslaw. A simple 'American' breakfast is available: bread and jam, sweet fruit yoghurt and coffee are not nice but better than pho! Overall this hotel shouted of poor management and very low standards. It may be OK for locals wanting to take selfies under the plastic cherry tree, but it’s a disgrace to lure western tourists with an ecolodge label.
